No access to the A38 North bound now for goodness knows how long. So much damage to trade in Lichfield....The south bound slip was closed for 18 months, so it looks like 3yrs the slips at Streethay have been affected 😢

I hadn't realised just how close to Moor Street Station the entrance to the new station is going to be. Some real progress there.

I hope this wider regeneration of Eastside spurred on by HS2 and the Trams will make them close a lot of the 3/4/6 lane roads and consolidate them into 2 lane roads with plenty of pavements, segregated cycle lanes and greenery. Birmingham is a nightmare to navigate unless you're in a vehicle.

Oh what a tangled web we weave! If you were designing the railways around the city center from scratch you surely wouldn't do it like that. Is that Moor St in the shot and where the lines into New St pass beneath between 1:00 and 1:30? It looks like there might have been platforms once that those steps led down to. It also illustrates how close all these stations will be once Curzon St is completed.

Fabricant and Sense; the greatest magnitude of oxymoron possible. It was he who also did his damndest to stop Railtrack then Network Rail from four tracking the WCML through Lichfield. The vision of a microorganism!

We do not talk about incompetence and corruption in the UK that much, but other UA-cam videos commenters have not held back on the waste and bureaucracy surrounding HS2. This project was very poorly thought through from the beginning and I have not seen anything change. Those responsible for this huge waste of public money should be held accountable.

£155 BILLION and still rising plus........... nowhere near finished yet. The next train on platform 1 will be in several years time. £200 Billion by then? Might be worth a punt. Trouble is if you win the Liebour party will likely take most of it.

It would be utter lunacy to mess with the plans for HS2 as they stand. This project is the very bedrock of achieving net zero at some time in the future. If we can't free up the WCM so that it can carry billions more tons of freight then we're going to have to put it on the roads or in the air. Then we are up the Kyber without a paddle!

Awsome footage just be carful putting HS2 in the titles at the moment due to flying over HS2 sites regardless to drone weight are currently prohibited by law due to a temporary order put in place by the courts

Lichfield is not Birmingham there is about 20 miles between the two Cities Lichfield being a very ancient City in it's own right

I think ultimately it will all get built, but not for years as there's no money. Dumping hs2 trains onto the wcml at lichfield will get messy!

It might be a typo - but in your description text you say the line was handed back to NR on 16 August? Also you speak about the existing railway between Birmingham and Crewe. This stretch of the WCML bypasses the West Midlands, and goes nowhere near Birmingham. Perhaps you meant the existing railway between Rugby and Crewe.

No where near finished then, Ludicrous! The money for this crap, not going further north any more and this is the stage they're at!!FFS gets my goat.

Excellent video although some kind of inset with a map of where your drone is and the direction the camera is pointing in would help identify locations. Not that I'm a UA-cam or drone expert! I used to live in Birmingham but many years ago and no doubt much has changed in that time. Thanks for putting that together

Nice shots. I think this videos title and description don't really match up with the footage. You've got first the Kingsbury compound near Marston, then at 2:55 it's the A5 near Hints and finally 3:25 the A38 which is east of Lichfield

Thanks for that. I realise that this is the uncut version. I presume that most of the Delta Junction site is included along with the Interchange station site and at the end,I think, Water Orton and the start of the Bramford tunnels. There are some real signs of progress. Captions would be. Very helpful. Thanks again.
