How cool i wish they did something like that around here
Not sure how far East you are, but it does run in eastern TX. www.cpkcr.com/en/community/HolidayTrain
Thanks for the link! the closest one I found was in Louisiana about 2 hours away
A new build! The Murray GT! The one we had the shifter was in the center. What year is yours? Are you going to find a replacement hood? Definitely looking forward to watching this build unfold!
@@Tennesseemountainhomestead this one is a 1998. Yeah it’s going to get the hood off Li’l Red and Li’l Red will return to its original hood. I’m curious what the similarities are with this frame and the two early 80s frames that look similar. I may be swapping a few parts with Kal as well.
Cant wait for the build to start. Also side note beautiful square body as a back drop lol.
@@cloes_Grandpa I can’t wait either but I will. I need to make a plan first.
@MightyRaze yeah a plan is needed 100% lol one day I'll learn that lesson.
46ci pressure is sick, also the shifter linkage is hooked to the clutch because when you pull inwards on it, it hits the clutch for you so you can shift on the fly. (on some models)
I will say it looks better with the crazy wrong hood than the original hood. I never liked those hood to begin with. I am sure you will have it looking great in no time!
@@PaulieDetmurds yes me too. Not a fan of the plastic. It will be getting a mid 80s hood.
Great score on the engine. Not a fan of the transaxle as I have the same one in RED, and have yet to be able to remove the rims from the axles.
@@larrybl aye… I haven’t even thought about that yet. I will say the rears will get 5 lug hubs and regular garden tractor wheels when done. Not a fan of the big slide on wheel.
Nice find! That will be a great project tractor. What size are those 820 rear axles? I don't know that, in my book, I would call a slide on rear wheel machine, a ground engaging tractor though. 🤔
1 inch axle is on those 820's. I say ground engaging cautiously. 820's are pretty rugged though. You could get a sleeve hitch for it and run a plow etc.
Lot of 820s came with 5 lug hubs, just depended on what tractor they came in. Even 2300s like john deeres have came with slide on wheels sometimes.
Thank you, @@MightyRaze 1inch, you're good to go! 💪😎💪
I did not know that, @@RichieRichOverdrive. Thank you! 👍
Fun to watch. did you pinch your finger on a closing valve? I did that, it hurt! Sounds pretty good in the end, did hear a little popping, but you did address some issues that may cause it? Nice video, and God Bless!
LOL, actually I was turning the flywheel by hand. I already had one side put back together with the spark plug in, while I waited for the new rod. Once I installed the piston and rod, I was turning the flywheel to be sure the torqued rod wasn't going to bind. Well, it was on the compression stroke on the opposite side and it came free when the valve opened and my finger made its way just under the corner of the magneto and sliced off a corner tip of my finger with nail. All good now today. The popping, I believe is the carb. It clears out with a tiny bit of throttle. Not bad enough to worry about at the moment. Thanks for the comments!
good its fixed, hope it wont die again.
me too!
That is one nice looking rig great work
Thank you!
I have a set of "42" 18hp pistons if you need them. Does help to hook the starter up. Where do you get the carb kits from? I have 3 carbs that I need to rebuild.
@@larrybl I try to find OEM ones on eBay but typically settle for aftermarket ones with them or amazon. I think I got one once through pro parts or partstree once as well. Not sure as that has been a while.
@@MightyRaze These are OEM out of a vert 18 Briggs with con rods and rings.
I’m glad that you didn’t have to put it to 16 hp, what would cause the rods to get torn up like that?
Honestly, not sure. If I was guessing, this is the vertical engine block that I modified to become horizontal. I may have missed a metal shaving even though I cleaned it thoroughly multiple times. That shaving got in the oiler hole for the rod and from there eventually into the "bearing". That is my only guess.
Nice to see ya out in the garage.
Thank you!
It’s great to see you back! We are deeply sorry for your loss, with prayers your way. The bumper looks great, very functional and easily removable. I need to do what you did with the tab blocking the post on the winch. Mines already got the rubber insulation split from hitting something….thankfully the post is pretty stout. The Green Machine is looking so nice and clean!
Nice this is something im gonna need to do putting 25" on the back of "pinky" and was wondering about tires for the front thanks for a easy fix for a up coming problem
Sorry for your loss my friend 😢
@@thehoosierhillbilly Thank you.
Hey man nice to see ya out in the garage working on your machine. Stay in the light my friend.
Great video and that machine is really looking awesome!!!
Thanks for the tip about the metal ring. I was lucky to find one in my junk box, which fixed my issue with the scraping sound. I prefer OEM builds, but you do serious modifications beyond my capabilities. Sorry for your loss.
Glad I could help! Thank you.
I do like the wireless, very clean as always
Nice and clean as always. Those 3 grade 8 bolts will easily hold 6-7K pounds. I remember my buddy put a 10K winch on his mud truck and it’s held to the winch mount plate with (4) 3/8” bolts…. That remote is sweet, does that have its own control box? Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the bumper!
Yes, it comes with a control box. I had an unpacking section of the video, but some reason it didn't record. I'll show it again when I can get to making a bumper. Life has taken a detour and tractoring has come to a full stop since this video was recorded. 😞 Hope to get back to it in a week or two.
Nice, I like the switch! Your machines are always so nice and clean. I always start thinking I want to do a mower build when I watch your channel! (Ford riding mower is what I would want)
Nice. That's a mod I wanna add to my wheel horse eventually.
I need to put one of those on my trailer. Problem is it uses round tubing for the rails.
I wonder if you could find a U bolt the right size ?
Nice
New tires?
@@Mo_2118 not exactly. These are the ones back in its Patriot days. The ag tires I gave my dad. He needed some rear tires for his craftsman.
@MightyRaze ah that makes sense
Puttin’ in some work on the Green Machine, maintenance or something break?
@@Tennesseemountainhomestead maintenance and some love.
Good video
Looks great! I had my roof replaced about 2 years ago. Get the magnet out, you will find nails everywhere in your yard!
@@PaulieDetmurds these guys went over the yard for about 40 minutes with 3 magnets and 2 guys crawling. It’s been a week and I haven’t found one nail yet.
@@MightyRaze That is impressive! Great to hear that! I did find a lot of nails, but thank God for the magnet!
Those guys did a lot of work and one day it came out beautiful, I’d be happy with it too!
@@Tennesseemountainhomestead the roof guys took a day and a half. We were suppose to leave for Ohio 6am on their day two. We got delayed till 1 pm. Needless to say I only made it to Effingham Illinois that day. It all worked out. The roofers would have been done in one day, but day one was 108 degrees. Same with the porch guys. They would not have taken all day if it wasn’t 98 and no wind. Plus, this is the south side of the house. I’m glad to finally not have the mismatched brown shingle and the new back cover looks nicer than what we had before.
@@MightyRaze yes I saw where it took part of the next day but what they got done in one day was impressive! It looks great, congrats on a new roof! …you don’t even wanna know what ours looks like 😄
I used to run my own tiny fence business. I have to admit I loved doing repairs on old and damaged fences.
Awesome
That's a beast fp👍
Scrolling through my feed and saw this video. I was wondering how you like those SunF tires? They look like the Big Horn tread pattern.
They are like big horns, but they are a bit stiff. I'm running about 6psi in them and they still ride a little hard. So far traction wise, I have been good. I also have not run them down a rocky trail yet. Mostly hardpack. I hope to get them out in some good mud when the rainy season comes back late Sept through Oct. I love the looks of them. I got them off Amazon. SunF 24x10-12 A033 on the rear: $163 pair. SunF Power II 19x7-8 A051 on the front: $90 for the pair.
@@MightyRaze thank you for the information on them. I’ll be in the market for an alternative set of rear tires in the coming weeks. There are so many to choose from and anything with a name brand is so $$$. I have the standard set of SunF 19-7-8 tires o the front everyone runs and I like them fine. I may consider getting a set of those you have on Marshal
@@Tennesseemountainhomestead Like I mentioned. Outside being a little stiff, I like them.👍
Good one😊

Such a cool build !
