      Seers numbers are fantastic and they seem like a great option. But for this particular investment, I did not choose them due to 2 reasons. 1) Not So Proactive Sales Team: Their first response after me contacting them was around 7-10 days. In my discussion with their sales team, I did not find them very convincing. So, I asked them to connect with their founder or investment managers if possible. They never called back. Wright's sale team was much more proactive & more knowledgable (this DOES NOT mean that their investment strategy is better). They shared lot of data, post which I did not feel the need to speak to investment manager. 2) Seers is a small-mid cap PMS. I wanted a multi cap, Quant PMS this time.

    Not able to understand why would somebody else will pay 5%

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 4 дні тому

      I am sorry, I could not understand your doubt. If you are referring to how 5% interest is being generated, then look at it as a working capital for Jewellers. Every business needs working capital with which they buy inventory. This working capital generally comes in the form of debt. The business then buys inventory with this money. Jewellers can raise this debt in the form of their inventory. Gullak has identified this gap. So, when an investor invests with Gullak, they are essentially buying the gold and giving it to Jewellers as debt. This way, Jewellers get cheaper working capital, Gullak earn a decent commission and investors earn a certain percentage of interest. If Gullak can execute this at a big scale, I think it is pretty smart.

      I dont have any first hand experience with Falcon. While researching about the Fixed Income Investment space, I came across multiple articles, blogs & reddit threads of people raising concerns about it. Yash Roongta, founder of Alt-Investor has written a great piece on Falcon with in depth analysis and red flagging the platform. Can't say whether it is a ponzi scheme, but things don't feel right about them, and I will stay away from them.

    When you receive monthly repayments from SDI in grip, where you are reinvesting that amount again? What's your strategy for that?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 4 дні тому

      As I mentioned in the video, I am still figuring the strategy for this. For me it depends on the markets & my circumstances. If a single repayment amount is bigger than 50k, I reinvest it in SDI, bond, ID within a couple of days. If the repayments are smaller, I usually combine repayments of 1-2 weeks, & put them back in deals with lower min. investment value. Right now, because equity markets are down, I have invested in MF also. Also, with Trump coming in, crypto market has heated up, so I plan to put some of the repayments in Crypto as well. I know this is inefficient & I have not been able to build a framework yet. Hence the word of caution.

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary

      @Bhishma.Choudhary 4 дні тому

      Hello. I have not invested in Tyke SAR & have no experience with it. In general, every investment can be termed good & bad. You need to ask what are you comparing it with in terms of risk, reward and what are your expectations out of it. This helps me take better investment decisions.

    I want to increase my CIBIL score, so by taking 30% loan of my credit line and preparing the loan amount on time, will this increase my CIBIL score ?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 7 днів тому

      I am new to loan & credit world, and am still figuring things out. Of what I understand, I can tell you this 1. Loans against MF are reported to CIBIL. So if you repay on time, your CIBIL should improve. 2. Loan amount should be determined by your need, something that you can repay easily even in adverse situations. Start from assessing the risky situations first, not the normal situation. Just dont fall into a debt trap trying to increase your CIBIL score.

    Is yenmo better or this volt money?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 7 днів тому

      I haven't used Yenmo yet. So I cannot say anything from experience. I googled and found this 1. Yenmo gives loan at same rate as Volt, 10.5%. So both look similar here. 2. Both are young startups. Volt seems slightly older, with slightly larger funding than Yenmo. But Yenmo is Y combinator backed, which is great. It can be argued that Volt's operations might be slightly better due to larger funding. But that is a very small point. 3. I will suggest you check who is the NBFC actually giving loan behind these. Because most crucial part of this is who is getting the control of your MF units. Volt & Yenmo are just a distributor with an Application. For Volt, the loan provider is Bajaj Finserv, fairly large name. If Yenmo also has similar trusted name, you can go ahead with any one.

    • @YashSinghal-u7t

    Thank you for sharing your PMS journey so far. But there are other quant based PMSs like Capitalmind PMS, Valtrust PMS etc. having good track record with better fee structure. Why these are not shortlisted in your list? Happy to here from you.

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 9 днів тому

      Capitalmind: I follow Deepak Shenoy & love the way he thinks about investment. But for my taste, Capital Mind is too big (AUM is 2000cr+). I feel a mid size PMS might be more hungry, aggressive & nimble in delivering high performance. Its just a bet. I can be completely wrong. Valtrust: I just checked, their AUM looks like less than 100cr+. I wanted PMS with AUM more than 100cr. So thats why they might have been filtered out in my criteria.

    • @subharanshurath9607
      @subharanshurath9607 8 днів тому

      Then, you can consider Active Momentum MF like Union Active Momentum MF which is falling under your criteria with better fee and tax structure. Love to hear your thoughts.

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 8 днів тому

      @@subharanshurath9607 1) 1 MF usually leverage 1 strategy. It could be any of momentum, contra, sectoral etc. But it will be 1 strategy. PMS, specially a Quant PMS, will leverage all these strategies (at least in theory). 2) The way I see it - MF are for are long term investing. They invest with a lot of research & prefer to stay inevested unless things go really wrong. This is also visible in their Turnover Ratio (20-100%) 3) I see Quant PMS as a highly qualified specialist trading instead of me They will trade frequently, almost like swing traders - and they will try to leverage tool, data, option available in equity world. Thats why their turnover ratio is high - usually 250 - 300%. Will this strategy beat MF in long term? I can't say for sure. But for me, it is a diversification in Equity with MF being slow & long term, and PMS being nimble & high risk - high reward.

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 12 днів тому

      1) Easy & quick onboarding. I spoke to 2 other PMS, & they said 2-3 weeks. Wright told me 3 days, & finished job in 2 days. 2) If you have reached them via their website, you should be with the right people. If you are still not sure, you can mail me (mail.bhishma@gmail.com). I can connect you with their Sales Head. 3) All PMS have a standard procedure as directed by SEBI: investors have to open a new DEMAT account with PMS fund broker. This will be your dedicated PMS DEMAT account. Tomorrow, if you invest in another PMS fund in, you will need to open a similar new account. For Wright, their broker is Nuvama (formerly Edelweiss), one of the best in the business. 4) Amount is transferred to PMS's main bank account. I transferred the amount in 5 days. 10lac each day. Their team confirms receipt over mail, within 10-15 minutes the amount hits their account.

      There are 2 ways that I know of - (1) Blusmart has their own platform called Assure where you can invest directly with them (2) I invest via Grip in Blusmart. These deals are not open on the platform as these are high risk. Grip offers only low risk Bonds & SDIs for public on their website. You need to contact their team directly for such deals. If you wish to Invest via Grip in Blusmart, you can contact with me as well. Please note these are high risk investments & you should be aware what you are getting into.

    And what's the fees or commission ? Yours is 50% equity it seems. So whats the mix of stocks like Small/Mid/large and do they diversify in other markets like US ?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 16 днів тому

      (1) Most PMS funds have more or less similar fee structure. These are fixed or variable & investors can choose as per their comfort. The fee for Wright is (1.1)Flat Fee Fixed - 1.5% per annum on corpus (1.2) Profit Sharing / Fixed Hurdle - 10% hurdle and 15% profit sharing pa (1.3) Profit Sharing / Variable Hurdle - BSE 500 TRI hurdle, 15% profit sharing I opted for 3rd option. While they told me majority of investors had chosen 1st option. I believed the markets will be slow right now & hence best to keep the fee performance based right now. The fee structure can be changed every quarter (good thing). Most Funds have similar structure but their % might change. (2) Mine is 50% equity as of now, but it is a 100% equity PMS. Since the markets are falling, they plan to deploy 100% funds over a period of 2 months (whenever they see good opportunity). This is an option that investors get - if they want entire fund to be deployed on day 1, they will do that. If they want to go slow, they will plan accordingly. I have asked them to deploy with their best understanding. (3) Both Factor Fund & Alfa Fund are Multi Cap. It does not show large, mid, small distribution but Alfa has 13 stocks (hence high risk), and factor has 28 stocks (medium risk). I can ask them if they have any strategy on large, small, mid thing. (4) No. US stocks are not done in this PMS.

    Are the ID’s safe?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 18 днів тому

      Invoice Discounting is RISKY. I keep it in same league as startup investments (most companies raising money via ID are startups). But if done with proper due diligence, risk profiling & realistic expectations, it can be very rewarding. ID gives me a great entry point in startup investment ecosystem (which i am highly interested in). It gives me fixed returns on fixed date & shorter tenure usually means better security. If I were a new investor just starting in ID, i would start with Altgraaf secure ID, that is Altsmart / Altarmour. They give 10-12% backed with Back Guarantee or Trade Insurance which makes it much safer. Once you get the hang of it, you can invest in more risker deals, with better preparation.

    PMS is low risk or high risk as compared to hybrid mutual funds such as balanced advantage fund, equity savings fund? If iam ok with 12% per annum returns with low risk, which option is better to choose? Pms or mutual funds advised by expert?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 19 днів тому

      1) Balanced advantage funds & equity saving funds will be way LESS RISKIER than PMS in my opinion. Plus you have liquidity benefits (which is a big point). For PMS, you need to lock in 50lac. 2) For 12% target, I would go for MF advised by experts. The funds that you mentioned or simply an index fund is way better than PMS. (3) My understanding of PMS is that once you have a big enough MF corpus (I have my current annual expense x 15 years in MF), then you can lock a lumpsum in PMS (like property) & target 20% CAGR returns in 4-5 years. Note: I am not a certified financial advisor. This is for discussion & educational purpose only. Do your due diligence & take professional advise.

      No defaults till now. IRR achieved as on 6-Jan-2025 is 7.9%. As I use it more, i have come across some finer details. The interest is credited to a wallet sort of thing they call Pocket every week. When you withdraw amount from this, it takes 1-2 days to hit your bank account. When you break your investment & withdraw amount from there, it takes 7-10 days to come to Pocket first, & then 2 more days to come to your account. So, while it is liquid, there are timelines associated with it.

    Can you tell me about their processing charges

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 24 дні тому

      This is what I understand from my experience. There are no processing fee. Only fee is for pledging and unpledging your MF. This a flat fee of 1000 per pledging, independent of amount. This means, every time you pledge your Mutual funds they will charge a flat fee of 1000. If you pledge your entire MF portfolio in a single go, charges will be 1000. If you pledge your MF portfolio in parts, say first you pledge 20%, then you pledge 20% more and so on, you will be charged 1000 each time. Similar is the case for unpledding. I hope it helps.

    Very interesting info shared in this video. Real estate investment is a different game. I share my experience. Case 1. My family purchased a plot of 500 yard size in 1940 for Rs.500/- . In 1994 , it was valued Rs. 9 lac , compounding @14.9%/annum. 200 yard was sold . Remaining 300 yard was sold in 2020 for Rs 1.5 cr . Interestingly, compound interest rate comes out to be 14.5%/annum. Case 2 My uncle purchased a 1000 yard plot in 1974 for Rs.18000. Now, in 2024, it is valued Rs 3 Cr. Compound interest rate comes out to be under 16 %. What i understand that real estate gives good return when its held for a very long period but again its not easy to sell it off.

      this is invaluable insight. 500 to 9lac and 18k to 3cr sound mind boggling, but in terms of IRR it comes to realistic targets. It reinstates that time is the most crucial factor in making gains, be it any asset class. The earlier you get invested and longer you stay invest, the bigger gains you will make.

    Please let me know whether altgraaf invoice discountig plateform is safe or not? How much is default ratio?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 26 днів тому

      Great question. All investments come with a certain degree of risk. As the returns go up, risks also go up. Invoice discounting is a risky product. That being said, Altgraaf is largest player in Invoice Discounting. Investors like us have invested over 4500cr with them till date. Last I was checked, their overall default ratio (in terms of AUM) was around 0.3%. They have had a total of 1800+ deals till date, out of which 3 deals have defaulted, where investors money is stuck partially. One good thing I like about Altgraaf is their secured products, with bank guarantees & credit insurance. They offer 10-12% returns but with much higher security than regular unsecured invoice discounting. Big part of my portfolio is now invested in secured invoice discounting, and a small part in regular risky ones.

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 27 днів тому

      I am sorry you didn't find the video useful. Here are some details - 1) Lot of platforms like Altgraaf, Tap Invest, Tyke, KredX etc. I invest primarily with Altgraf & sometimes with Tap. 2) I started with high risk high returns deals. But now, I am investing in low risk deals with 10-11% IRR (on Altgraaf only). If I had to restart investing, I would start from safest options. 3) I prefer invoice discounting when I need money after a short duration, as it gives me 10-12% (annualised) on fixed dates after 30, 60 days. 4) I plan to allocate 2-4% of my overall portfolio to invoice discounting. When I invest for short durations, my allocation goes high. When I dont need money in short term, my allocation goes down. I hope this could help you in some way. If you have any specific question, please do let me know. I would love to share whatever I can from my experience.

    Hi Most of the reviews in play store for this app says it's not a good platform & faced defaults with previous deals What's your opinion about this?

    • @Bhishma.Choudhary
      @Bhishma.Choudhary 28 днів тому

      Yes, their reviews on google platforms are not great. I have spoken with their team at length on this. As far as I understand, there have been 3 defaults on their platform (out of ~1800 deals). Of the default, investors have received partial repayments, from 10-30% and the rest is stuck. If I had to bet, I would not expect these repayments ever. It is definitely sad to see investors money gone down like this. But investors need to understand the risks involved. This is the exact reason why they are getting 14% in the first place - BECAUSE IT IS RISKY. IT CAN DEFAULT. As I mentioned in the video, I made the same mistake when I started investing with Altgraaf. I was lucky, that my deals did not default. I know better now. Thats why, I am settling with lower returns (10-11%) but that come with bank guarantees or some sort of insurance. Currently, I have around 15lac invested in their system. I could be wrong. But that is how risk reward works. I have suggested Altgraaf's team to keep a clear & honest explanation about what happened, on their website, so that potential investors have a better idea of what happened, what are they getting into, & what might happen. I hope that happens soon.
