What carpet is that made from

So, I'm noticing that this tank is full of algae. When I watched your first video making it, I noticed that you barely put any plants in it. You also have no filter and no CO2. Usually the guidelines for a tank with no filter and no CO2 to be successful is to plant it heavily with fast growing plants. Based upon your experience with this tank would you agree? Thoughts? I'm asking because I'm about to start a tank this size.

I am asking how the tanks held up over time with algae and such because I am debating whether to do the Walsted method or just simply do your method.
