Hi! I am running a holley sniper on a boat with a chevy 350. I'm burning 02 sensors but while I fix that, I need to lear how to override the baseman and make it run on open loop. Is that possible? Will it run right after a good learning session? I just don't want to waste a whole weekend when the 02 goes out
Can it control a th350 transmission?
I have a carbuerated Jeep YJ. Does the Sniper have a built in Inertia switch (for rollover)?
No, the Sniper does not have an inertia switch. The only similar function it has is if the engine shuts off the fuel pump will stop running, but if it rolls over and the engine doesn't shut off then the pump will continue to run. It would be possible to add an inertia switch into the wiring from the Sniper to the pump though.

Yes, the Sniper 2 uses the exact same injectors as the original Sniper, but with a much better connector for them.
Scott is awesome on these Holley EFI systems, all of them. If I were to purchase again it would be from EFI System Pro. You get a wealth of knowledge and great support. They put out some amazing content for tuning procedures. They want you to succeed.

So does the sniper build the pressure and once it returns is the pressure lost or do I now need to get new fuel lines to hold the pressure? I have a 79 chevy k20
It is not uncommon for pressure to drop off after the fuel pump turns off. If the pressure is correct while the fuel pump is running then there is nothing to worry about. If it can't maintain 60 psi while the pump is running then there is an issue. The fuel lines themselves play no role in that.That is all the regulator! Check valve in the pump please.
My issue was that my tps sensor kept bouncing 1-2 percent keeping it in a repeating loop of acceleration enrichment. Ended up being a bad ground lol

My TPS is not re zeroing after cycle. I turn it back on and it reads 30% still. Is there a fix for this?
I have a flooding problem in the high ports of a super sniper, any help? Can I upgrade the ECU and injectors to my Super Sniper and make it have 8 injectors instead of 4?
-If a single throttle bore is getting flooded most likely the injector driver in the ECU is bad and the whole ECU will need to be replaced by Holley. If it's all for throttle bores then it sounds like an interference problem instead. -Holley won't sell the ECU so you can't upgrade to an 8 injector setup, the throttle body would also need some machining to accept the second set of injectors.
I'm just going back to carb to many issues with the holley EFI sniper
Downloaded software last night. Took my first log, computer wouldn’t read it, called tech this morning. They said I needed to update firmware on handheld, which I already did. Turns out the firmware out on the site is more recent than the pc software. Now I need to update to the older version which now my ECU won’t recognize anything. Pretty sure my new install is coming out. 😢 and going back

Who sells Holley Sniper Fuel injectors? Holley keeps telling me they won't sell them , individually , as a set , Nothing. Just send the entire EFI unit back , because of 1 injector going bad. Can you share a part number and or place to purchase them? Thanks

Thank god I stumbled across this I was thinking mine was a door stop started spraying fuel looks like just an o ring. Gonna fix it and sell it since I’m going to a terminator
Confirmed just an o ring - saw a stupid Reddit post where they said it was a casting failure so I never looked more into it if spraying by the throttle cable

Newbie to efi, built a supcharged rotory. 20 year build, went efi for the non lean idle. Learning why im a carb guy lol. Just trying to learn, is that like the cam time? Im lost
The reason for this video was to explain to people they don't need a tune for making power and a different tune for economy. You use very different areas of the fuel map for accelerating and cruising at a steady speed. Snipers do not have any cam timing capability.

Mine sometimes will toggle from 100 to 0 several times when I go WOT and on the chip.
That sounds like a possible loose connection, but more likely a bad TPS sensor. You might be able to solve it by loosening the mounting screws for the TPS and setting it in the middle of it's adjustment.
Hay Guys, bought a HyperSpark to compliment my Sniper from you guys a couple of years ago. I've watched a couple of 'experimental' videos of people downrating to smaller injectors EG 80lb which helped with over-fuelling and backsplash up into the air-cleaner (and reduced injector noise). One video appeared to show the increased pulse width of the lower lb injector led to a more granular tuning adjustment made by the ECU in the learned fuel table. Do you have any experience of having experimented with lower injectors, or could you pass comment on what if any effect this would have on longevity of the ECU's electronic drivers for the injectors.... For example, could lower injectors potentially put less load or strain on the Holley electronics? (Four barrel Sniper on 1969 351W)
Hi Rob, There really is no benefit to the ECU itself in downsizing the injectors. It is the same electrical load no matter the injector flow rate. The actual electrical parts are the same for all injectors that would fit in a Sniper with the only difference being the nozzle size. I have helped one customer downsize his injectors a year ago or so and while it works fine, it is pretty unnecessary unless you had a real small engine. If you have a V8 making 250 HP or more then there should be no need and if fuel is coming back up out of the throttle bores it sounds like there is a tuning issue or exhaust leak causing excess fuel flow.
@@efisystempro Thats brilliant thank you, and your absolutely right, the fuel thrown out the bores was due to over fuelling caused by a persistent exhaust leak (I kind of knew the answer to that already, but was interested in your take on it...). I had an intermittent injector which I just fixed (hopefully see how it holds) using the zip-tie trick, interestingly the thin and flexible copper wires (grey and white for rear driver’s side bore) are showing exposed copper between the rubber connector and wire sheathing. I'm really beginning to doubt the build quality of the Sniper MK1... Thanks again for your quick response to my questions.

Mine has a major stall while giving it throttle. Did it while driving. I’ve changed every part , coil,distributor, tps. Fuel does creep below 60 under throttle. I’m using the sniper drop in tank fuel pump.

How in the f&@k do you do this? Do I have to put the SD card in a laptop or explain in detail how to accomplish this! Thank you , everybody not a computer guru man!!!!
This video was jut made as a UA-cam short which only allows the video to be 60 seconds long. Not near enough time to show the entire process. The configuration file needs to be downloaded to the SD card, then SD card put into a computer to load into the software. After applying the fix in the video, save back to the SD card and upload back to the ECU.
Does it have a built in pressure regulator?
The Sniper 2 does not have a built in regulator. Holley is really pushing the use of their OE tank modules with built in regulator and the retrofit module with built in regulator. It takes a very strong understanding of inline pumps to get those right and that is the main use of the internal regulator.
@@efisystempro would you recommend the holley sniper 2 master kit for my k5 blazer? Has a mild rebuilt chevy 350. Currently running a edelbrock avs2 which runs fine but have to fiddle around with the carburetor every time the temps change to much.
I have had trouble with mine from day 1. Now I have a external fuel regulator and took out the fuel reg in the back. and put a adjustable secondary linkage on it witch helped but it coughs and sputters some times. It has been two years of fu$%#% with this thing . I am ready to go back to a carb. What to try next HELP🤠 ME
Can the new pdm be used with the original snipers?
Yes, there is nothing proprietary about the PDM. It can even be used with the Terminator X.
You know what’s inside garbage!! Holley was no help!! Had to send mine back because of rfi interference car kept cutting out while driving
Interesting video… do you have a video for fine tuning these systems. Mine works good, drivability is good. The only issue I have is cold starting, it tends to pump too much initial fuel and floods it a lot. Once it’s been running awhile though it starts up easily with no issues. I would like to see a video explaining how to tweek these so they don’t run too rich/ lean, initial fuel when starting etc.. any suggestions would be appreciated

Does it control fans through the ECU/app? I have a 550hp '69 427 BBC I'm wanting to put a modern EOD and electric fans in. I'd love to take the guess work out of it all.
The Sniper 2 can control 2 fans and can be setup with the touchscreen, optional phone app or computer software. There is an add on module coming soon to control 4 speed electronic transmissions like the E40D
mine after a wot pull it will go from 3% to -15 a couple times then after that it loses signal to the ecm it says on the screen im lost on what going on.
Sounds like there is an interference issue going on. It could be a bad TPS as well, but that is much less common
Hello I recently installed a holley snipper efi on my boat engine. Today I took it out for the first-time sea trial. The problem I ran into was when trying to reverse boat off trailer then shifting back to neutral, my engine styled out almost each time. It does this rather shifting forward or backwards. Do you know what's causing this.

What system are you working with? All of the Holley systems have basically the same TPS.

The ECU does not have the capability to run 8 injectors when it started as a 4 injector system. You can run much higher flowing injectors though. We have 220 lb/hr injectors that drop right in for $88.15 each. That would get you even more fuel flow than you would get with 8x 100 lb/hr injectors.
What is rhe cross reference for the tps sensor. I know iac is dodge coolant in chevy lookinv for a tps that i can buy at sutozone or nearby autoparts store
TH191 is what you can tell the local parts store to get a replacement sensor.
On a ford with the distributor in the front, where are most people mounting the box and the sniper coil, as it’s not a canister? Thanks
Most Ford guys put the ignition box and coil on one of the inner fenders. Not the best place cosmetically, but best for interference.
I have the sniper ignition box, do I need to use the coil driver?
The ignition box is a coil driver, so there is no need for an additional coil driver. The best way to think of an ignition box or coil driver is that it is just a relay for the coil. The ECU can't handle the load alone for the coil, so the ignition box handles the load and the ECU just triggers the ignition box.
Can Holley super sniper 4 injector. Can be upgraded to 8 injectors ?

Yes, the 120 lb/hr injectors will support 750-800 HP no problem.
