Wearing it on the inside is better in almost every way. It's more hidden for starters. It's easier to stab the neck with it under your wrist rather than over it. Having it over wastes so much of the blade since it has to go past your fist which is bigger whereas for the opposite you flick your hand back to use more of the blade. Then you'd have more issue deploying the blade over the wrist, if it's a wrist flick that greatly increases the risk of breaking your wrist if you try to punch like that and the blade would have to be longer to get more than 4 inches past your fist in general and even longer than that if you want to deflect swords and use it in combat which at that point you might as well get a proper push blade.

I don't recall how successful I was with this strategy, but I did last a while by staying in position at 0:12 so as to bottleneck the drones. Just had to be patient for lines of sight to them.

How is this a debate? The whole point is to have a concealed blade, so inside is correct for secret assassining. If you're just some rando stabbing people (like Eivor) then it doesn't matter. If you want to wear it on your leg and kick people, who's gonna stop you?

The problem I am having with this comparison is that Eivor got the blade 319 years before Altaïr got it, let alone started thinking about making changes to it.

Seriously, why has to be there a right and a wrong variant? Also an ourwards worn Hidden Blade can be perfectly hidden if you conceal it well enough. At the end of the day most Hidden Blades are visible anyways, even the inside "right" variant can be easy to spot if you're a Templar knowing what to look for. My problem with this video is that you try to give the one and only answer but that's just simply not possible. Not every user of a Hidden Blade uses it the same way. There are different fighting styles, different ways to approach a mission, different personal requirements and preferences... For every situation the right tool, for every assassin the right Hidden Blade design. If concealed enough a Hidden Blade beeing worn outside may work just as fine as the inside variant, it may even help the user in their personal style of fighting. In truth all advantages and disadavantages of a certain design are bound to the user. Like Eivor, she's not a Hidden One, she's a warrior, with her culture and philsophy in mind it perfectly makes sense to wear the Hidden Blade the way she does, transforming it into something of a fighting blade, I suppose she would feel uncomfortable wearing it on the inside. And then take someone like Ezio. He was an Assassin, striking from the shadows instead of constantly engaging in open combat. For him wearing the blade on the inside was the only logical choice, exacrly because of the arguments you mentioned. It's just the best way for most Assassin's for obvious reasons. But that doesn't make the original wrong. There is not definite answer to this debate. There is no definite right or wrong way to wear the Hidden Blade. Wear it the way you want. Wear it the way that matches your style. I have to say, personally I'd wear it on the inside, for, again, obvious reasons. But if someone wanted to wear it on the outside I'd be like " Sure, why not?"

But Leonardo was not the first one who made a modified Hidden Blade. Assassins like Giovanni Auditore already used them long before Leonardo first got to see a codex page. Altaïr already had a second Hidden Blade on his right forearm without removing a finger and he already used at least the gun upgrade. I don't want to say Leonardo's work is not awesome, don't get me wrong. And another thing: Eivor (it's more pronounced like Äiwor instead of Aiwor") is female in canon ;)

I kinda like the idea of the Phantom Blade, at least as a concept as it marries up nicely with the idea of being sneaky and quiet, unlike Ezios gun, I just don't like the design they came up with. I just don't buy that bow like design working. The "limbs" of the bow extending out of the sides I get, I just don't see how the string is supposed to be taut enough to shoot off any kind of ammo. And how is that string meant to be stored when not in use? How does it retract after it's been used? It doesn't make any sense compared to what little I understand of how longbows and crossbows work! As for Conners pivoting blade in his left hand, I just don't see how that's supposed to work either, unless it's supposed to be removable once extendable. But getting to reattach before retracting seems a bit awkward and unreliable. When it comes to Eivors not so hidden blade, I think simply putting some armour over it would hide it again, but you have to wonder how having it on the outside of the forearm might not work with however the mechanisms was setup to deploy it. I think Eivor made a good point about the "mistake" of having it in the traditional place if it meant risking losing a finger. Which does make me wonder what the original in universe designer was thinking when they made it. DaVincis modifications to not lose your finger along with the hook blade make the most sense to me. And I kinda wish they'd thought to have two hook blades as one along opened up so much potential for faster climbing and better combat.

I mean... Eivor saw Basim and Hytham had it under the arm and that both were missing their ring finger, and put 2 and 2 together. I really can't blame her; in fact, I agree with her reasoning.
