Mallard Marabou Damselfly Nymph
Damselfly Nymph pattern made from two tested and proven trout catching materials- Mallard ‘n Marabou! Watch the vid, twist some up, and be ready for some heavy hooksets as this pattern excels when the trout key in on the late Spring damsel migration to the shallow water where they’ll morph into adults.

Moose Mane Baetis💥 - a buggy little jig nymph that fishes well as a natural. Tied on a size 14 for the vid but super effective in 18/16s on pressured water.

A deadly dragonfly nymph pattern that delivers heavy hooksets! Fish it on the surface with short strips or off the bottom with strips and pauses, but any way you fish it… don’t let go of the line!

A deadly stillwater pattern with plenty of movement due to its marabou tail and cdc legs. Have a watch and tie one up!

An effective mayfly nymph pattern that really picks up the fish in the months of May and June, or anytime there’s a mayfly emergence.

A great stillwater pattern that really gets the trout going! When they see that tail wiggling back and fourth on your retrieve, they slam it hard!
As a former European "commercial" fly tier (and these days engineer) I really appreciate your excellent instructions.
Very Good Instructions, Very Professional and Useful, Thank you!
gorgeous fly
Nice Spanish guitar(?) accompaniment for a cool new damsel tie, just what i've been working on lately...crappie like them too!! Will try your version tomorrow. Thanks , RC
Nicely done ☕️☕️

Yesss! I’ve been dying to see how you put this together
Cool! Tie some up and let me know how you do with them!
Nice pattern
Thank you! Cheers!
Such a great tie Stanton...thanks for posting!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it John. Thanks for watching!
How wide are you cutting the foam?
The Scudback is 3mm, so maybe about 6mm. I’ve always just eye balled it…
🙏Thank you so much been dying to see this one
Awesome! Hope you get some tanks with them!
Awesome tie Stanton. Looks a lot easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for the video
Thanks Terry! Glad you enjoyed it. It’s not too bad once you get the foam dimensions right 👍🏼
Excellent fly. Thanks for the concise instruction too!
Really interesting. I've never seen the braided ostrich technique. I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent 🎉
Looks awesome. A little question if I may... How durable is the woven ostrich feather to the toothy critters? Made me wonder if platting in a reinforcement cord of sorts might be useful. Just my 5c worth
What is the net bouyancy of this? Slow sink, neutral or floater?
It’s a floaters that can be fished from the bottom up depending on the fly line used, leader length and retrieve.
I think because the way you tie the bead chain it will swim whith the hook pointing upward, so will need to turn the hook upwards and tie down the legs and the wing case, or tie the bead chain inward the hook if you want the fly swim with the hook downward. Very nice fly, I see that it looks buggy, it might work even for a carp.
Thanks for watching! The fly swims and works quite well during the large damsel migrations. Cheers!
Excellent explanation, thank you!
Great video! Glad to find you here too! 👏👏👏
Buen trabajo
Gracias!
Hi Stanton, could you expand on how you do the hitch knot on the tail? It’s giving me a hard time.
Hi Greg, an easy overhand knot is all you need. Make sure to use the stronger section of the ostrich and not the very tip part. 👍🏼
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you!
Awesome bug! Was just wondering what the 75 denier thread was... I can't find it. I can just replace it with 8/0 white? Or 70 white?
It’s UTC GSP (gel spun) 75 denier in white. Waspi makes it. Much stronger than regular UTC thread 👍🏼
@@vancouverflyfishing7615 K thanks man. I'm reading up on the different thread types. Still trying to wrap my head around it
I actually can't find it from two websites in BC.. can't I just use UTC 70?
@@fillup86 yes, just don’t pull down too hard on the foam eyes with the thread and you’ll be fine.
@@vancouverflyfishing7615 Awesome thanks again! Can't wait to try it. Oh, one last question, you use any kind of marker for coloring the body? And 1/8th" stretch floss?
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing.
Perfeito! Muito obrigado por compartilhar!
Awesome lesson thank you
I didn't see a "hitch" knot, just an overhand knot
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Tight lines 🎣
Thanks for putting out the video , I’ll be tying that one cheers .
Thanks! Hopefully they catch you some fish! 🎣👍🏼
