Mallard Marabou Damselfly Nymph
Damselfly Nymph pattern made from two tested and proven trout catching materials- Mallard ‘n Marabou! Watch the vid, twist some up, and be ready for some heavy hooksets as this pattern excels when the trout key in on the late Spring damsel migration to the shallow water where they’ll morph into adults.

A deadly dragonfly nymph pattern that delivers heavy hooksets! Fish it on the surface with short strips or off the bottom with strips and pauses, but any way you fish it… don’t let go of the line!

A great stillwater pattern that really gets the trout going! When they see that tail wiggling back and fourth on your retrieve, they slam it hard!

    Looks awesome. A little question if I may... How durable is the woven ostrich feather to the toothy critters? Made me wonder if platting in a reinforcement cord of sorts might be useful. Just my 5c worth

    What is the net bouyancy of this? Slow sink, neutral or floater?

    • @vancouverflyfishing7615
      @vancouverflyfishing7615 2 роки тому

      It’s a floaters that can be fished from the bottom up depending on the fly line used, leader length and retrieve.

    I think because the way you tie the bead chain it will swim whith the hook pointing upward, so will need to turn the hook upwards and tie down the legs and the wing case, or tie the bead chain inward the hook if you want the fly swim with the hook downward. Very nice fly, I see that it looks buggy, it might work even for a carp.

    • @vancouverflyfishing7615
      @vancouverflyfishing7615 2 роки тому

      Hi Greg, an easy overhand knot is all you need. Make sure to use the stronger section of the ostrich and not the very tip part. 👍🏼

    • @vancouverflyfishing7615

      It’s UTC GSP (gel spun) 75 denier in white. Waspi makes it. Much stronger than regular UTC thread 👍🏼
