This week, I'm working on an illustration of one of my original characters, mischievous elf 'Rowan Scarletberry'. Rowan lives in a tiny house among the Rowan trees at the edge of the Dark Woods. Rowan has a fondness for mushrooms and she often heads down into the Dark Woods to find the tastiest varieties. Her favourites are poisonous to the humans, so they always leave plenty for the elves. Creating realistic doll hair with plant fibre
I love your advice and videos - always so o practical and uplifting. Thank you. I also love your dolls and maybe one day i will both be able to buy one and create one equally as beautiful. Thank you also for the hair tips. I hadn't thought of felting onto felt and then adding that to the dolls head!
How do you make the head movable?
You can see the technique I use in this video: ua-cam.com/video/xZn7ZSocKns/v-deo.html
I love your dolls! How much are they?
Thank you! You can find prices and details of all the dolls I have available here: spyderthread.com/collections/all
Thank you for this video (and answering my question 🖤) - it's so inspiring
Absolutely love this gothic doll!
Thank you!
beautifull <3
Thank you!
I love your channel. Thanks so much for explaining the process to us. It's so much fun watching you create. I can tell that you are enjoying making these dolls. They are super cute 🥰
Thanks so much for watching! I do love making dolls. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to share my passion with others 😀
I quit my last job because I just could not cope with the customer service and the low wages. I am now also at a crossroads without a map. Sure don't want to go back to low wage, customer service jobs but not sure what to do.
❤❤ new to your channel and I absolutely love your little doll
Thank you!
I love her so much, she is beautiful! You have amazing talent!!! A Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte doll would be an amazing challange, I wish I had your skills ♥
I was looking for reviews on using viscose for crafting, and I stumbled on your video. What an amazing channel! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! <3
Thank you! I'm glad you've found it helpful 😊
She is so cute.
Thank you!
So what is your normal timeline for a doll?
A Beady doll this size would usually take me a couple of days. Bead jointed dolls take three or four days, longer if they are complex designs
She’s delightful, bravo 👏
Thank you!
If I didn't have one of the world's most curious and destructive cats, I'd probably hang dolls like yours all over my house. 😂
Just found you on UA-cam. I'm in love. Could you please give direction on the beads used for joints as well as the wool used for her hair. Thank you for giving such a great detailed exploration of your beautiful art. Much love
Thanks for watching! I usually find the beads on ebay, I try to match the width of the beads with the width of the limb. This doll's hair was made with bamboo roving
Just discovered your channel and I'm in love. Is there a video that shows your process from start to finish? TYFS!
Thanks for watching! 😊 I don't think there is a single video that shows the full process, as it's quite long and some parts can be difficult to capture, but I try to include different parts each time, so you get an overall idea of the process. This playlist goes through some of the techniques I use: ua-cam.com/play/PLzMyWi3b400w3REfK-8tyIsLkHMYRFbT4.html&si=Ev43nollCpAhK4y-
Thank you for posting this, it was really helpful as I'm in the process of going self employed and deciding whether I should focus on illustration (something I feel very confident in) or doll making (a new skill that I'm very much enjoying). It's so encouraging to see both your beautiful dolls and illustrations in the same world. I think your pieces are really cohesive and I love your style 🖤
Thank you so much! It can be a bit scary putting art out into the world when you feel like you're still learning, but I think it's the best way to grow and improve 😀
Back when I used to post my work on Instagram I always strayed away from posting things like the plushies or clothes I would sew or any of my other hobbies because previously if been known for posting only my illustrations and it felt really constricting. Maybe in the future when I start posting again I won't be so afraid to post those things too. I look forward to seeing the other kind of Art mediums you explore! Thank you for inspiring me :)
Thanks for watching, I'm so glad you found it helpful 😊
Your are work is exquisite. I'm sure people would love them.
Thank you!
I feel like this is good advice even in a non-artistic context. Sometimes you may get bored of you job, so try doinging something to spice up you life elsewhere and see how it relfects back onto your work. Same with learning new skills for a new job or title/position. You may not do it perfectly the first few times so remember to take a step back and look and what you've done and see if you're improving or not and how to move in a direction you want. ❤
"When's the last time you tried learning a new skill?" **looks at my insane pile of supplies from every discipline I could enter for under $300** ... Thursday?
Hehe, that could be a whole other video! 😆
This channel is so underrated ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Omg where did you get they’re supplies
I just found you and have watched quite a few videos - thank you - I love the broomstick - the Hair vids really helped me with the hair for my Witches - x

No, sadly I still have no idea 😔
Love the broomsticks.
Thank you!
Please don't hide your channel, my wife really love your contents. she first found you in Pinterest, then the moment she saw This UA-cam channel of yours, she got so excited! She told me proudly that you already have a UA-cam channel. Whenever she watches you, there is this twinkle in her eyes as if her inner child is getting healed. May you be blessed, and thank you for your inspiring contents.
I love the pointy ears, they add so much extra whimsy and charm!!!
Odette may be a beginning for a series of fairy folk dolls! She's so beautiful.... and you are incredibly talented.
Thank you! I'd love to make more fairy folk if people want them 😀
She came out Cute and Awesome ❤ it’s always fun trying out new things in art😊
The stitched laces and green eye background are lovely little extras. Great doll!

What type of screen do you use for that?
I'm not sure what you mean by screen?
@@spyderthread Aaaa sorry I don't speak english, I use a translator 😢 I mean textile fabric
