They basically just turned them Barrow Wights into DnD... These are creatures that are supposed to lure you with mind bending un-understandable methods, they're not supposed to be re-generating skeletons with flying chains, that doesn't make sense. These are souls trapped on Arda, they can't be harmed by normal means because they exist on another plane, they are not fully there, thats why they don't just run out of the barrows to cut people down, they manipulate those in the waking world with a miasma, a heavy atmosphere that dulls the senses. Like, why are they flying skeletons that for some reason just reforms after being destroyed? Where did that magic come from? Here they're just world of warcraft mobs you need to kill 10 of in order to get a 12 silder reward. They did the typical hollywood thing when it comes to fantasy, and that is to turn everything into plastic. Why did they give them glowing eyes? They could have just copied some of the Nazgul concept art from The Hobbit and made actually spooky wights.

Someone posted a while back this is where Mairon truly died. I thought about that for some time and truly I think that what they writers were going for through season 1 and 2? Showing how a villain progressively gets more evil over time? He said when Morgoth lost he began to feel the light of the one again. Probably a lie knowing him but lets say it was part true that Eru gave him a chance to come clean. Interesting thought.

Now imagine in game of thrones when euron greyjoy speared that sand sister that they continued to have a conversation while she was suspended in the air lol
