    Great content Sanders !! Thank you for sharing your journey!! I really like Dodge trucks. I just finished restoring a 85 W150 .. Were the cylinder walls scarred very much? At 73 years old and retired field mechanic from surface coal mine, with 43 years experience, I still love turning wrenches. Please be careful and God bless you and your precious family!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Eddy

    Looks like you have your work cut out for you. You should be able to find parts no problem. My oldest son had a 1997 Dodge Dakota Sport with a 5.2 Litre V-8 engine in it. Ran very good. He sold it in May of 2001 with a little over 59,000 miles on it.

    Wow you sure are getting your feet wet . . . can't believe the damage on that motor . . . how long did it drive like that before it quit? Cheers.

    I've learned to never believe the sellers. I only believe what i can see. They want to sell the vehicle so they're going to make it sound not as bad as it really is. *It's buyer beware for a reason.* Which truck of yours did you trade for this gem? Also, if you could hang a light so we can see in the engine bay. Thst would be great. Thanks.

    • @aochsanders7896
      @aochsanders7896 6 днів тому

      I really don't think the seller knew what was wrong with it, I traded my quad for it, and yeah I'll get some better lighting next time.

    In this "throw away" world, I'm surprised that this truck wasn't already parted out or scrapped. I'm impressed with your ambition; I know you get it from your parents. My dad would always pick up used articles, unfortunately, he just squirreled them away to use "later", and never did. I guess that's the definition of a hoarder. Can't wait to see the progress on this truck. Blessings to you and the family

    Truck looks great! As far as the mirrors, that style was known for the shaky lenses. I think that's part of the reason why some guys upgrade to the newer square style mirrors. They shake less, but you need to buy an adapter for the power and defrosters, if you have them. But truck looks good man! Keep up the great work!💪

    Looks pretty good! I would probably use the whole panel and cut out the square that way when your putting body filler you don’t have to deal with all those edges and curves. It’s just a flat surface. Might seem like more work but I think it’s easier in the end. Spot welding the panel will give you a better surface also. But definitely looks a lot better.

    You break it you fix it. I got my first 70 Chevy pickup when I was 14 for $150.00 in 1978. By the time I graduated High School I was on my 5th engine and had rebuilt some in between. I had 307,327,350 and finished with a 400 cu. in. I’m 60 yrs old now and never let anyone maintain any of my equipment either. I hope you get a two post hoist in the new shop. That would enable you all to do so much more efficiently. Good Job 👍
