Welcome to the UA-cam site for St. Athanasius Orthodox Church in Nicholasville, KY. With the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19, our churches have had to make excruciatingly difficult decisions about what faithfulness looks like.We are working on ways to keep the church “fully functioning” in the face of this extraordinary moment. Here you can pray along with us and hear the offered sermons.

I don't know if it's on my end and just me but I am still not getting audio
Hello Carol! I am so sorry to hear that you were not getting audio. I am unsure why, as it was turned on on our end. Is this a recurring issue, or was it only happening on that day?
Thank you for this word father. It appears from the comments that everyone knows better than you. I do not know better than you. I am glad to learn and understand the approach for of the OCA. Orthodoxy appears to have several ways of approaching and implementing the truth according to needs of their local community.
Beautiful

Something wrong with the audio??
Hey! Did the audio get resolved? Can you let me know what was wrong with it? Thanks!
Well, the Cathedral Vigil consisting of Great Vespers + Polyeleos is much better than just a 30-minute Great Vespers alone, or a Great Vespers + Matins celebrated in the evening. Yet, something is still missing in this order, in my opinion. What if some portions of the Compline were added to the Vespers? It could be the Six Psalms (not of Matins though, but of the Great Compline) - Psalms 4, 6, 12, 24, 30 and 90, or the Three Psalms of the Small Compline - Psalms 50, 69 and 142. A few Compline night prayers and chants could be a logical addition before or after the Polyeleos part as well.
God Bless You and save from evil fight,I am from ethiopia .
Beautiful..... Blessings....
Great lesson! ☦️
Hey father-why does the babel allow for and endorse slayvery? Is it moral to own people?
We cried when we switched to the new calendar. And before it was settled there was a lot of fighting in the churches anong the people and the priests. It was a very hard time for us
Met Theodosius was our bishop before he became Metropolitan. He was the first convert to be Metropolitan
I think its interesting that Met Iakovos marched with Martin Luther King but I think the Greek Orthodox in New Orleans fought with the confederates. I think it was New Orleans.
I have that red book from Hapgood for decades now. Many things you are saying I experienced growing up. Many of the local people where I am from hailed from Galicia and the Carpathian Mountains
You forgot about the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church Johnstown
Outstanding presentation !
Many of St. Innocent's journals are preserved in the Library of Congress because the late Dr James Billington (Librarian of Congress) loved the Orthodox Church so much. His meteorological recordings from his time in Alaska are so accurate that they are being used to track climate change in the region in the present time.
When I finish each video, 8 times now, I'm even more convinced of Orthodoxy than I was before starting
I so wish I could be there with you. I will be there in spirit. ❤
This lesson was so amazing for me because it answered something for me that I knew for a long time but couldn't explain. And now I not only "know" but even greater I "understand"! Thank you tons Fr Justin. Like scripture that can have different insights or lessons for whoever is reading it your words were also. I understood and followed what you were explaining but I also received more than that. I am grateful. Thank you.
God is inseparable from "reality". God is reality. This realization is what drug me to Christianity, the hard way, by life lived and an intellectual process of elimination. AKA I tried everything else, and I do mean everything. Slow learner but I learned. We all have a God shaped hole in us. Theosis is what we are after. Orthodoxy seems to understand this best and has an experiential solution, not a head solution, which just doesn't work, for me anyway.
Augustine of Hippo: “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they can find rest in you”
Father Bless. Wonderful video! Blessings!
Too fast
I would have thought that this series would have more views and comments! I'm glad to have found it, albeit some of it raises more questions than answers; but that isn't a bad thing as far as the Divine is concerned, so much as to be expected.
Theres are great, thank you
Just curious why do the women in your parish not veil? I noticed in quite a few of the photos you presented that women were in church with their heads uncovered.
War Eagle!
This was a wonderful lecture.
Thank you Father 🙏❤
we gotta get this gentleman more subscribers.
Thanks for this! <3
I would simply like to say, "Thank you!" I am not Orthodox, but have had an ongoing interest in it for several years. There are a few reasons why I have felt that I could not become Orthodox. Although I have attended services at our local OCA church regularly in the past, and have had some lengthy conversations with the priest, I just haven't been able to get over the hump. I don't know, maybe one day I'll get there! My problem now is that I have acquired some Orthodox beliefs and practices that make it difficult for me to participate comfortably in other Protestant churches. I have thoroughly enjoyed your presentations, some of the best I have seen on UA-cam. You are a gifted educator. Thank you for making this series available.
@4435 does he say that there needs to be a movement in orthodoxy to affirm gay marriage and gender identity? Am I hearing that correctly?
Orthodoxy is Paradoxy. Yep
