Europe has understood that upfront investment to save and/or make more money later on is better than saving at first and paying bigger bills or making less money later. Affordable health care for all gives a healthier population who can then have 5 weeks of paid vacation per year and still be more productive than people without affordable health care and without paid vacations. Free education gives better educated adults who work in better jobs and make so much more money that the income taxes they pay from that far offset the costs of the free education the government provides.

America provides high quality protections and profits for insurance, pharmaceutical and the healthcare industry.

I get the health care debate, but its not free. It is tax paid so your taxes are significantly more. Same with cost of schooling. The house and apartment conditions for most people along with vehicles etc, you can see that the US is far ahead. Just look at air conditioning. GDP per person is the answer to more vacation means mostly making less and particularly living in much smaller apartments etc.

I totally concur. I lived in Europe from my early 20s to my mid 40s and ask myself, every day, why I bothered to return to the US. Actually, it was several negative personal experiences that made me uncomfortable enough to want to leave. Nevertheless, while the US is all about quantity life in Europe is all about quality. I lived in a very modest terraced house in England built in the late 19th Century and which had greater structural integrity than anything I'd ever lived in in the US. I'm fortunate to have obtained UK citizenship and my wife and I are currently working on our imminent exit strategy.

I'm from Canada and we have strict gun control, but criminal's get illegal guns from the United States. However, the streets for most part it's safer than the United States. We have free health care and higher education than the United States.

Healthcare is paid by the public regardless of type of system is in place. You either pay for it in taxes or with insurance or some crazy combination of the two. I can't stand videos where the term "free healthcare" is used.

As an American who has live in Colombia for the past 41 years, I can say that the USA could learn a lot even so-called 3rd world "banana republics" in terms of most of what's mentioned in the video. Colombia made its own version of "Breaking Bad", but had to come up with some reason for the protagonist to turn to crime other than not being able to pay for cancer treatments. And here, politicians (for all their faults) behave and speak like mature adults. ....and no Fox, Newsmax or OAN to cynically dumb-down and manipulate the public!

As an American, I do NOT think we have it all right and are the best place on earth. Not at all. We have many problems. But while you guys are trashing America, I still thank God I live here. If America is so bad why do so many Europeans immigrate to America every year? America is a country of 340 million people, most of whom came from some place else because we are the country of opportunity. Europeans are only now catching up to America, a country where 100% of the people live with indoor plumbing, and people can own their own home, and automobile while paying half as much for fuel. America is the country that went to the moon while Europeans were still trying to install indoor plumbing. America keeps Europe free from Russian tyranny! In fact without America most of the world would live under tyranny!

It's easy to provide healthcare to everyone when your country's population is less then the population of Texas or California. The Netherlands has a population of eighteen million which is less then New York State. The average person in the Netherlands pays 24% of their income in taxes versus less then 14% in America. The lowest tax rate in America is 3.5%! It's easy to build modern railroads in Europe, most were destroyed during WW2 and then rebuilt with American aid, as was most of the infrastructure in Europe. America was never bombed so they continued with the infrastructure they already had. Yes a lot of Americans own guns, but not everyone, and those that do have guns don't run around shooting everyone. Every European country has laws limiting what the media and press can do, and Britain recently passed a law limiting demonstrations. American money is very stable, the recent bout of inflation has decreased back to pre-covid levels while inflation remains high in Europe. Minimum Wages are higher in America and have just been increased again to $16 in New York State. Seniors are better off in America as they get Social Security and Medicare and some qualify for Medicaid benefits. Housing prices vary from low to very high, depending upon the market, a crowded city like San Francisco is very expensive, while a city like where I live is below the average.

All the praise Europe gets for its quality of life is well deserved. However, thanks to the blind stupidity of its Far Left leaders, Europe now has a far greater immigration crisis than America ever has.

There is much admirable about the US. I've visited dozens of times for business and leisure, and I'm one of many millions of people around the world who owe their living or, in my case, pension pot, to a lifetime working for US corporations. So let's not slag them off too much. But it is astonishingly bad when it comes to criminal justice, healthcare, and urban planning. Oh and stop regarding 'Europe' as a destination. What's true of, say, Thee UK is not true of Albania. 'Europe' is too diverse a continent to be regarded as a single destination.

A "Myth" is by definition NOT A TRUE story! Therefore your "False...Myth" statement is bad English. Let's try to get at least, the basics right even when "living in Europe"...

No american thinks that we are best at everything. I lived in Germany and Italy and was born in Soviet Union. Lets face it, without America you would have much less of a freedom, much less of a health care and much less of an education. We spend 3 times as much on military than Europeans and you don't have to because we do. Drug companies primarily get their profits in the USA so our health care is expensive so yours could be cheap. MRIs that you can get cheaper in Europe were developed in the US at the expense of american expensive healthcare. And the last is the expensive technical education in the US. Without it you wouldn't microchips etc. Quality of medical treatment and technical education in the US are 2nd to none. We do work more than Europeans, work is our life, that is true but someone has to pay for all of the above. So when I read here how french guy is critisizing America I want to point him to 19th century France and if he wants to go back to wars, prejudice, colonialism, medieval medicine, etc. If not then say Thank You Uncle Sam and Thank You Hard Working Americans

There are quite a few views of Zürich but you don't mention Switzerland. We have a high quality of life and are one of the richest countries in Europe. A retired couple have on average about chf 600,000 in assets. I believe a retired couple in America on average have a negative amount.

I went to the University of New Orleans in 1979 and it cost $200 a semester for a full schedule. I paid for it myself. Now it is 10 times more and the wages didn't go up 10 times.
