I had a JD 800. suffered from the 'pink glue' issue, where the glue holding the key weights dissolves over time and wrecks the keyboard, so I sold this fabulous synthesizer with all the extra soundcards. This is very great to see and hear, brings back a lot of memories 😉

Thanks. This resolved the issue I had figuring out how to get my minifreak, which is connected to the fantom with midi fine, but I didn’t know where to go to enable the line in coming from the left and right channels of the minifreak. I would have never have thought to go into effects. I was going through system thinking that option should be there! I’m new to the fantom, only just powered it up, but I really wanted to use the built in audio of the fantom, so when I have headphone in the back (until I setup my monitors) I can now play the SH-201 instead of a mic and get sound! Thanks so much!❤

Good instruction for one external midi device, but how do I connect a second or third midi instrument e.g. a korg Kronos or deepmind 12 do i need a midi thru or splitter box and how would assign each midi instrument to the Fantom. Many thanks and i’m glad you’re here doing the physical programming , it’s what us Fantom user need.

Please show us how to do it the other way. Take 4 beats of 1 bar and copy them and extend to 8 bars. So far this is impossible and such a basic function it looks like they have missed.

Very good movie. So I can export each scene separately and all 16 together? I record one instrument on each stage and 16 tracks make up the entire song. Then I'd like to send them to someone for mixing. Is this possible?

What if we want to us 2 sound modules and want to record the Ext sounds including the Fantom sounds to WAV?

I found with the various adjustments to the V piano sound ie lid open etc etc I achieved a sound I like very much but I, m limited with Fantom to only track one in the zone instrument selection and the same goes for a loaded Rhodes user sample I can only use one in the zone selection so that’s a frustration for Fantom users.However thanks for your philosophy that gives me the occasion to share this Fantom short comings.😂

these are called SENDS. Using only one reverb makes things more conherant and glued together. usually most DAWs arent using effects until you add them, but workstations have them onboard at all times. This isn't a DAW where you are adding 100 fx each channel. less is more

Thanks Vincent - for keeping this keyboard alive, Most fantom UA-cam videos are 3 years old or older now, I think interest is fading, I just hope that Roland will deliver one more update. I am an arranger keyboard player for many years, I tried to sell the FANTOM 6 two times but no one interested to buy it since the 06 came out, thanks to your videos and a few others I have become more into the FANTOM the past 6 months and I have to say, the more you dig into it the more amazing it gets, I really would NOT think of selling it now, it’s the center controller of my studio and it’s a keeper. 👍👍👍

Hey Ed, great video! I got this working just like you showed (with a Keylab 88mkii!) but the sustain pedal and wheel 2 aren’t affecting the sounds on the lower board anymore…anything I’ve missed?
