I have a question about the return line on your bypass fuel system. Did you notice any pressure creep upward with the smaller factory return line? I've done a couple carb conversions on TBI pickup trucks & ran larger diameter return lines on both. There's less room to put things like that on a C4 Corvette chassis. Did it work well for you?

Dang, I almost thought you had figured it out!!! Using the Edelbrock carb. you wont need a fuel regulator. The fuel that flows into the carb can be discharged out the other side of the carb. Since the floats use the same bowl. Unplug the other side and let fuel flow threw the carb and back into the tank. There is more than enough fuel to keep the floats full. Keep it simple. I figured this out 8 yrs ago and a GM 366 that has no place for a mechanical pump on a vehicle with a standard in tank fuel pump.

    • @IllegalC4

@@jotegg1276 I’m not an expert man. This is my first classic car and first time dealing with a carburetor since my dirtbike when I was 12 years old 😂. Generally speaking, a lot of people are going to need or should run a fuel pressure regulator, regardless.

@@IllegalC4 Mechanical fuel pump with deliver 5-9psi, standard in tank fuel pump in a GM vehicle with a TBI fuel system puts out a max of 14psi. Save yourself a headache and a couple hundred dollars. Fuel regulator just restricts the fuel flow, this will happen naturally, the fuel feed is only one size bigger than the return line. This way you dont have to buy a component that needs to be wired in, mounted and adapt to your existing fuel lines. Slip 3/8 fuel line over the ends of your factory fuel lines with a couple hose clamps. There is not enough fuel pressure to blow the lines off. Plus you keep fuel flowing and never strain the electric pump.In the event you want to change back to TBI, nothing was cut or modified.

Most of those Dimes I didnt even have, I probably put 12k into parts and work for that car all on credit. Then a really hard time in life struck, I was forced to move out and now had to pay rent and in California rent is atrocious. My hours at work got cut which hit me even harder. I was miraculously bailed from my situation through the help of some upper family members and I'm thankful everyday for it. But not everyone can be granted assistance from their families, listen to illegal c4 dont waste all of your money on your car.

When I was a little kid back in early 2010's I loved modded cars and wanted to do the same thing in the future, nowadays the car scene will sometimes have those people that will cause drama by making fun of/calling people out just because that person's car is bad compared to theirs, although I do tell myself that "regardless of how fast or slow the car and how nice the car looks I can still have some fun with it while learning how to do this and that." but regardless of telling myself that I still fear that I might get bullied by someone if I wanted to visit a local car meet in the future.
