Quick walk around of my XSR700. SC Project Conic 70's Exhaust
Nice one!
Hi Mate, i know this is 3 years old but if you see this can you let me know if you had any fuel mapping done for the exhaust or not.. Is it ok to run that full exhaust without mapping it?
Can the db killer be removed
No its fixed
I want something that is pretty loud and will be noticeable by people. Does this fit the bill? Worried that the DB killer is not removable if I want it louder.
Questioning the same.
Mate, I’m in HK and got the XSR700 as well, made some mods, would love to share experience on the road !
How loud is it on a scale to 1-10. 1 being stock and 10 being ear bleeding/annoying
Hmm hard to say, its certainly not annoying, no matter how long you ride, highway etc. I'd say maybe 6. Its perfect really
Love the revised speedo position 👌
Hi! How loud would you say this exhaust is compared to the stock one? Nice bike!
You in Hong Kong mate?
Yes sir
where I can buy those mirrors? nice mods mate, big up for ur choices
Thank you Daniele, I just got them off Amazon. They are Kemimoto's.
Delicious sound!!
After installing the sc-project exhaust, did you have to remap the ECU? thanks bye
Hey Davide, no I didn't remap it, I might in future, I bought a Booster Plug, and that just helped with reducing the popping and crackling, and much less engine braking. Its quite good.
which reservoir is this ?
Shek Pik
Is this with or without db-killer?
with DB killer, the Conic 70's DB killer cannot be removed
can i ask what cover that is for the rear brake fluid resevoir?
great video mate! Been eyeing on one for a while, why did you import it from Japan? I am planning to get one from the Hong Kong Dealership, was it cheaper?
thanks man, the reason I imported it was because the 1 and only yamaha dealer here had absolutely appalling customer service. DO NOT even bother. I called them, they said they had 2 in stock, i went the very next morning and they told me they were sold. I said can i order one, they said cannot, have to wait for 2020 pricing. (this was November 2019) said not available until July 2020. They were a disgrace. Never, ever, ever going near them again. Anyway I used a dealer who specifies in importing Japanese bikes not just Yamaha. He was absolutely brilliant. Night and Day compared to the official yamaha. Do yourself a favour and avoid MLT Yamaha like the Plague. The import (albeit it a 2018 model) was brand new prob demo bike with 800km on it, all the fees and rego etc, was cheaper than official dealer here!
Andrew Holtham wow! MLT sounds horrible. Would you mind sharing the name of the dealer you imported your XSR with? Thanks a lot man for the insight on MLT!
@@mmuzaffar520 yeah man no worries, they just don't deserve the business. Go and see Dave Sui at DS Moto in Tai Kok Tsui. See what he can do for you.
@@andrewholtham does DS Moto offer a warrantee? I wanted to order a bike from MLT but the delivery time is November.
@@hkrider Yeah, see above comments about MLT, I cannot stress enough, AVOID. DS gave me 1 month as it was a used bike he imported (800km on it). I think he said if it was brand new he'd do 3 months
Did you have to do anything special for the M-flash LED's to work? As far as I know the only thing needed is a new relay. But I do see there are pre-wired versions available which are more expensive but I'm not sure what exactly that does for you e.g. www.broguemotorcycles.com/taillightsandblinkers/motogadget-m-blaze-pin-turn-signals
hey man, so yeah relay is just to stop hyper flash, cos LED's have less resistance than the old ones?? i think haha. So thats just a simple remove the old, plug in the new. When i got my LED turn signals brogue didn't offer them so i got them direct from moto-gadget. They came with just the bare wire, a black and a red. very very narrow wire, super tiny, i couldn't use wire strippers, had to use cutters to carefully peal the insulation back. So the Brogue ones will just be prewired so you can simply unplug your stock ones and plug in the new ones. Saves crimping and stuff. The Brogue ones are def more expensive $115 USD for a pair vs 38EURO for 1. But it saves you wiring. It wasn't too difficult, just depends if you can be bothered.
@@andrewholtham Gotcha. Thanks for the info man. Appreciate your videos. Hong Kong looks like a beautiful place to cruise around.
If you end up doing the fork covers and gaiters I hope you make a video on it! Haven't seen many videos on that yet
shop.sc-project.com/en-US/3334_SCP-Y14-C21A70-Full-Exhaust-System-2-1.htm shop.sc-project.com/en-HK/3334_SCP-Y14-C21A70-Full-Exhaust-System-2-1.htm Can you spot what the difference is between these two links? It looks to be the same exhaust but different pricing options. I'm a bit confused as to which one to choose. Not sure if I'm missing a feature or not
Only thing I can see is that the first link is US and the second one is HK. as in sc-project.com/en-US or en-HK. Both part numbers are identical. So it might be a taxation thing for the different regions. I'm in HK so the 615EURO is the one I got.
Just realized they only ship to Hong Kong and u.k. in those links. Can't find one that ships to u.s. Rough
@@darkhome Oh no, really?! Maybe ask Cappuccino Moto wherer he got his. He's got the same pipe in stainless steal.
Can I ask where you got this exhaust? I cannot find it in black at all. Love the bike!
Hey cheers! its actually under MT 07 when you search on the SC website even though the picture is an XSR700. I got it direct from SC. shop.sc-project.com/en-HK/3334_SCP-Y14-C21A70-Full-Exhaust-System-2-1.htm Choose the 2nd option Y14-C21A70SMB (MB=Matte Black). Even though its under MT07 and it even says model 2013-2016, it fits no worries. I had direct confirmation from SC before I ordered it.
@@andrewholtham thanks a lot for the reply man appreciate it! Getting an xsr next month and this is the first purchase
@@darkhome no worries, happy to help make it easy! You wont be disappointed, the look and the sound is so good! enjoy your new XSR
@@andrewholtham So you bought the exact one on that page? I want to buy one for my XSR as well but I dont want the one they are selling here shop.sc-project.com/en-US/Bike_YAMAHA_XSR-700-2016-2020-/3345_Y27B-C21A70S-Full-Exhaust-System-2-1.htm
@@VandalCatt Hey mate, so yeah nah not that one. You gotta find it under MT07. This link shop.sc-project.com/en-HK/3334_SCP-Y14-C21A70-Full-Exhaust-System-2-1.htm
This bike is amazing! How long have you owned this bike?
About 4 months
This bike is amazing! How long have you owned this bike?
Brilliantly done! i like the audio very nicely recorded!
How long did it take you to install and did you remap?
I didn't do it myself, i probably could have but got someone with all the tools to instead. Didn't take long maybe 30mins. I haven't remapped it.
gorgeous sound Can I ask what headlight that is?
Hey Alex, yeah no worries, its the Koso Thunderbolt LED
Does this exhaust have a Db-killer? and if it does, did you remove it in this video? Great sound!
Hey Max, this particular exhaust has a Baffle/Db-Killer yes. But its fixed and cannot be removed. Its behind the mesh at the tip. The sound is perfect. I wouldn't want to remove it even if you could. So mine is the "Conic 70's". The "Conic" is different and its Db-Killer can be removed. Cheers
@@andrewholtham Thanks for sharing man. Do you find that the euro 3 version of the conic is a little too obnoxious for city life? I'm torn between the euro 3 and euro 4 versions. Euro 3 is much cleaner looking but the euro 4 is a little bit quieter it seems. Just want a nice sound without pissing people off.
@@ShowInTheDark Hey mate, nah not at all. I cannot recommend it highly enough. A mechanic whos been around bikes for years and years, says its prob the quitest SC exhaust hes heard. Because its got a baffle in, behind the mesh that you cant remove its def fine for city. I would go Euro 3 over Euro 4 every day of the week. Looks so much better. Hope this helps.
@@andrewholtham Appreciate it man. The matte black definitely matches the aesthetic really well. The euro 3 is really clean and fits that neo retro look for sure. The 4 is just kinda ok. Sound was definitely a concern for me as I live in an apartment complex, but it seems like it might still be doable considering the dbkiller.
@@ShowInTheDark Thats it hope you like it!
What gauge relocation kit is that?
I actually have no idea, sorry. It came with the bike. I've tried to find what it is but I can't. The bike came from Japan.
Hey mate, I just stumbled across it on webike Japan. check the link! www.webike.hk/en/products/23823191.html
