@@beli4780 thanks 🙂 changed the bridge because the high mass keeps the strings aligned better than the bent-metal bridges where the saddles can move around from side to side. Also prefer the look of them to the cheap looking original bridge

@@beli4780 no issues with neck dive, they are great basses, fantastic satin necks which are comfortable to play, solid tuners for the price of the bass. I nearly bought the red one as well as this one as they are so good! 😂

@@Skampino the original is yes, and the guitar is tuned to drop D, but it can be played in standard on bass as there are no low open D or E flat notes during the song. I play in a covers band that does this song and I stay in standard as it saves me changing the tuning when it’s not necessary

Having Googled it, it appears they are made in the USA. Yes, one was defective but now replaced and the bass stays in tune all night through 2 or 3 hard rock covers sets 👍

You may not need to buy these tuners. A lot of times cheap stock parts work fine. Maybe stretch your strings for better stability

@@ramencurry6672 they do indeed, but compared to the stock tuners on this bass I’ve found the Hipshot tuners to be much better and when I get the bass out of its case I know it’s going to be in tune. As I mention in the video I only have to check tuning once or twice a gig rather than after every couple of songs which I felt I needed to with the stock tuners. I’m considering getting some for my Squier Jaguar Troy Sanders as the stock tuners, although adequate, don’t stay in tune as well as these, and being lighter the Hipshot tuners would also help to reduce/get rid of the small amount of neck dive that bass has.

@@ramencurry6672 Cheap stock parts might work fine if you really need a replacement, but these are an upgrade to get for sure

Thanks 🙂 yep, all stock Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders (SPB-3) pickups. Nearly 6 years and several basses later, this is still my number 1 bass 🤟

Yeah I am not surprised…I recognised the SPB-3 signature…perfect mixture (Nate guitar bass +SPB-3) if you ask me and of course you played this like a maestro….I will do the same with a 70s Japanese made precision with SPB-3)! I need a real Pb modern sounding that can cut through anything in a mix and/or when playing in a punk rock band! Cheers mate.

@@CristelDevriezeMN thanks 👍 I play in a rock covers band and this bass sounds great and sits nicely in the mix with our two guitar players. My backup bass has the same pickups, I also quite like the DiMarzio Model P which I have in a Squier bass and that sits nicely in the mix too 🤟

Mine is now on my practice pedalboard with a TC tuner, TC compressor and a Digitech Drop - I plug straight into our PA for practice and no need to carry cabs back and forward to practice 👍

Thanks! It’s a great bass, the satin neck is fantastic, I’ve since changed the pickup as it’s my backup gigging bass and the vintage sounding pickup just didn’t have quite enough punch for the rock covers I play, the Squier pickup is great but it was just getting a little lost in the full band mix

@@thebeardedbassplayer What was the original pickup missing mids? What pickup did you put in instead and what did it improve?

@@Ralferator I played this bass at a gig shorty after I got it and although it sounded good it sounded a bit thin compared to my other basses which have Quarter Pounders in them and it sounded to me like it was getting lost under the two guitar players in my band. Rather than put Quarter Pounders in this one as well I decided to try DiMarzio Model P pickups and I’m very happy with them 🤟

Hey, if you’re having trouble hearing the bass over her singing try listening with headphones as the bass cover is panned mainly to one side. Also, try using the Moises app as you can add tracks and then use sliders to raise and lower certain parts of the track e.g. turn everything else down so you just hear the bass - very helpful for working out bass parts where the bass is hard to hear in the mix 👍
