Get In Line | Wayne Bergeron cover | Gordon Goodwin
This chart has been great practice for my rhythmic accuracy; there’s still some questionable spots in my playing lol but holding myself accountable for the little things like this has been a big help!

I love playing out of my Gordon Goodwin book, it’s my favourite way to practice playing lead; this is one of many great charts in there called “La Almeja Pequeña”!

excelente, gracias
There are a few takes of this song on UA-cam and worth checking out the hear the different variations.
DAMNNNNNNN 3:10 5:00
Ambidextrous improvisation. Never seen anything like it in my life.
Cory is a fucking monster on keyboards. That was off the chain! 😂 Even the other guy on keyboard next to him was like “Get the fuck out of here” with his expressions! 😆
The return of the King! Glad to hear you back, man.
Thanks! Glad to be back
holy cow
tight 💯
dude you cracked
Thanks man
I'm begging you for the sheet music
You missed the double C in bar 127. I am 13 and my middle school band is playing this song and im playing lead and i can play all the notes.
Dear Gayden Pantsman Actually I could play it when I was 12, I just didn’t want to intimidate lowly common men such as yourself. I pity the fool that is to believe any higher of himself than is the standard of excellence of my own diktat. I would go so far as to infer such that no one anywhere anytime is worthy of anything less than revulsion, repugnance, abhorrence, odium, and flat out mediocrity compared. TL;DR: nuh-uh
@@hughpenner5051this is the funniest jazz roast I've seen all day bruh lmfao
I'd love to hear that, Ayden. Please post your version in the comments.
@@reedshards9241 absolutely, let's compare
What mouthpiece you use?
I use a Bobby Shew Lead. I like it but it’s starting to feel pretty small, I’m hoping to get different one soon, maybe a GR or something
@@hughpenner5051 same here and im going through the same problem like it feels like its getting to small for me.
Insane playing once again, that last note was legendary💪💪
Thanks! Double Bb’s are usually squirrelly for me but I found that if I use all three valves and kick out the first valve slide, it locks in pretty well. Kind of a weird combo but whatever lol🤷♂️ thanks for listening
@@hughpenner5051 thats interesting, keep it up dog
Great Job - LOVE This.
Thank you!
He’s returned!!
🗣🗣🔥🦅😍🔥🗣
Yeah man, great stuff!
Thanks! You sound great btw
Great lead playing! Solid.
Fanks mommy
Great job.
Thanks Neil!
Been waiting too! Great playing man keep it up!
Thank you!
Cool sound.
mais 1 seguidor, vc é fantástico, parabens pela boa performançe e sonoridade
Subscription earned! God Bless You!~
Remarkable
Thank you Hugh!🙂
👍
Yooo is there anyway I can download the transcription to have it on paper ? I can't seem to find the first part of his solo anywhere.
How is nobody commenting that this transcription is wild And accurate and for the love that all that is jazz we appreciate your service to the art, kind sir
I really appreciate that, thank you :)
Still such an unreal solo. I mean there's only 12 notes for Christ's sake. But none of us saw any of these ones coming.
Haha cool way of putting it
very good playing
Proof that we can accomplish something that brings such joy, together!! Together!!! Almost everyone is represented in the room. And everybody's part is EQUALLY important.
Cory and Larnell are proof that aliens are among us.
He knew he killed that
Here’s a thought how about playing it down an octave
Nah
Well you don’t play it as well as those two
@@jonburton1935 no shit Sherlock I’m not Wayne Bergeron are you stupid
@@hughpenner5051 Ur amazing and 100% better than this guy right here
Some people... Go beyond
코리의 솔로만큼 경이로운 브라스섹션의 호흡.... 🙊
All of that without ever cracking a smile.
He does toward the end when he literally goes “😃”
Lingus balls
The rhythm in the kick/bass messes with my head!
❤
Nice
how do you be in tune with those notes
Tuning is hard in the high register but I think it comes down to strength. The more strength you have, the more control you will have (usually), and the more control you have, the easier it is to center the pitch. This is because if you are not strong enough, you will either undershoot (due to manipulation of the embechoure to play the note) or you will overshoot (due to too much tension). Luckily, strength is easy to work on. There’s plenty of exercises to improve it 👍
@@hughpenner5051 Based on just what I know. I am putting way too much pressure on the mouthpiece and every note is about a mile sharp (almost to the point where its a wrong note) I just dont know how to solve this issue. Whenever i try to let the pressure go down its the same. Whatever i try nothing works (maybe i just need to peactice long tones or something)
@@mineboy1369wqe Try and see how high you can play with no pressure. Probably lower than you can normally play because it’s unfamiliar. But working on range in this way is a more honest way of building muscle while not overworking the wrong muscles. Deep breath, loose shoulders, diaphragm compression, and relaxed breath outwards. Obviously there can be a little bit of tension, but only really in the lips and chest. Building strength can be a somewhat long process but it really does help.
1:43 That face could not have said "DAMN!!!" any louder 😂😂😂
This solo is just freaking impressive. Hard to say which one is better: Chris Potter or this one. I love Chris Potter, but this is amazing.
Wayne Bergeron did not play lead on this chart he played second trumpet Dan Fornero played lead on this chart. Wayne Bergeron switches with Dan Fornero on some songs to make it easier to get through a concert/ set.
Incredible playing you are very smooth and gentle with it, what recording microphone are you using?
Thank you! I use an SM-57
Hope you've been practicing, Penner. Back to it, buddy.
Haha I’ve been posting on Instagram lately I just haven’t posted here in a while, maybe soon
This literally changed my life
holy shit. that is some incredible playing for any age, but to play that well as a teen/young adult is wild.
Thank you :)
I'm the guy at I'm the guy at 2:54 facepalming not believing it
If you look up “How to Cook” in a jazz encyclopedia you find this.
Não sei quem é mais brabo, o Cory que executou ou quem transcreveu, parabéns!!!!
