Convert Weber BBQ Grill from Natural Gas to Propane or vice versa
Переглядів 109 тис.3 роки тому
A clear and easy video on how to convert your BBQ grill from Natural Gas to LP Propane, or vice versa. (following the same basic procedures) The key is to have the right tools and the right parts -especially the right size orifices (brass nozzles). I am not a licensed whatever whatever so stay safe, don't try this at home, etc. etc. Yes, I am aware that in the video I said "ratchet" when I inte...
2003 Seadoo GTX Fuel pump removal

This video will help you see how to take apart the fuel pump housing and access the pump and filters for replacement. No, I'm not a professional Seadoo mechanic, just a dude making a video to help others out! The video doesn't include removing the housing from the Fuel Tank - if you are unable to figure out that part on your own then this entire exercise may be beyond your ability and you shoul...
Glock 43 / 42 Ghost edge connector installation
Переглядів 11 тис.8 років тому
The ghost edge connector is a great modification to your Glock 42/43 that will reduce the weight of the trigger pull. This piece is really easy to install if you have a probe or very small punch, and a small flat head screwdriver. Remove the magazine, clear the chamber, then install at your own risk and always use the utmost safety and caution. I am not a licensed gunsmith nor do I represent Gh...

Thanks - instructions were perfect - appreciate it!
Great method! My fat thumb almost would not fit, but in the end it was the only way to go...
I inadvertently bought a NG Weber Spirit 2 not knowing the difference between NP and Propane, and then stupidly just changed out the hose to LP Propane. The flames were hot and high! Stumbled upon this video and ordered the replacement brass orifices. (.5mm and drill bits to assure correct sizing.). In my case, the flame was then too low, (unit only came up to 350'f). Given my lesson about using the NG orifice which was too big, I continued to re-drill my new brass orifices to .8mm and it now works like a dream. I know a lot of people are correctly cautioning about doing what I did. If my experience helps, there it is. Mark, thank you for the video!
@@stevenandrews5607 you’re welcome. Glad you got it going. Happy grilling
I can’t control the flame after swapping out the orifices and regulator hose. Converted NG to LP. What can I do?
What unit are you working on? A Weber or some other brand? It’s possible the regular hose is the wrong one or is defective. I’d try using a different one
Just put one side in at a upward angle and push it back in
Thank you your video helped me in seconds thanks bro
Great video! Quick question. I see the fuel pump has a long pipe attached to it that then connects to the top (black) portion of the fuel pump module. It seems there is a grommet where they connect. Do you have any sources where that grommet can be obtained? Mine has a worn out grommet causing performance issues. Thanks!
I don't have any sources; sorry.
I own two G43’s and have cycled well over a thousand rounds in each (range: 124gr FMJ and 124gr +P JHP) and have NEVER experienced an FTD. I recently installed this SI EMP and could not be happier! Appreciate your no nonsense approach to this vid. Thank you 🙏🏻
I use my drill as a make shift lathe, it makes perfect chamfers on assembly pins. Or anything else that is round and no larger than the capacity of the drill chuck.
Great video
Anyone selling the whole fuel pump assembly. Looking for a cheap refurbished or used one
Worked perfect. Thank you!
Thanks you sir. Very good video. To the point. That’s what I was looking for.
what does the free floating washer do in the bottom?
Thanks for this video
Good video overall but when showing the closeup differences couldn't you have centered the item?
I have a weber Genesis natural gas grill without a regulator. I was reading that Weber natural gas grills do not need a regulator. I was going to change my other Weber Summit to natural gas. Does this need a regulator? Anybody know? Please help.
Natural gas units do not have or need a regulator. You will however need the appropriate hose and the orifices that are much more open and appropriate for NG
Great demonstration and instructions. Very impressive. Thank you!
YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE RIVETS THE UPPER PAR ITS A CLIP ON PART!!!!
Big help, man! Thank you!
Wow thanks Mark followed your directions to the tee on a Weber 3 burner, works perfectly. Thank you very much.
The money you can get for the natural gas grill by selling it will get you a new propane grill. Why would you downgrade?
not always true. often times there is a higher demand for propane and if you try to see a NG grill then you may not get a buyer. Depends completely on the city and demographic, and of coarse the publics' needs.
Very well done demonstration. Articulate and easy to follow. Thank you for the information. Exactly what I was looking for.
Yours is a difficult method to address the important fact that the coiled spring of the Slimline Series Slide Stops usually must be depressed to remove the Trigger Cross Pin! Simpler is to press on the top of the Slide Stop Coiled Spring with a small punch from the inside while applying gentle pressure on the trigger cross pin.
Weber natural gas to propane
thanks Mark!
Something the narrator forgot to mention: The orifice air mix needs to be adjusted on each burner, by rotating the metal sleeve covering the screening to reduce the opening size. The propane will not ignite at the natural gas opening setting (too much air diluting the propane). Also, the orifices work as bought and don’t require drilling the opening larger.
How much of the opening should be covered for propane?
Just made this switch after drilling out the orifices--thanks! The 0.8mm bit broke right away so went with 0.9mm. The grill works, however, I only have a high flame now except for between off and pilot light I can get a low flame. Just nothing in the normal range from high to low. Any thoughts?
Hi Tim, unfortunately you'll have to get new orifices and get back to 0.8. opening. I made the same mistake once and made the hole too big and it did like you said, basically a High flame the whole time, and not only that, when too much propane is flowing it can make it difficult to actually light. is your unit 3 burner or 2?
3 burner
@@TimCindi ok, I think my best advice would be to redo it with orifices drilled to .8mm. the other thing is the regulator/hose. sometimes they are faulty and getting a different brand can work better than some. the weber ones are so expensive (I think ballpark of $60) I have used charbroil purchased on amazon, and my latest was this one (which worked well on a 3-burner unit): www.amazon.com/dp/B01J5DLW9K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Thanks for the video. I did this but didn’t drill into the orifices based on advice from someone at my local hardware store. Did it on a BRAND new unused Weber spirit II but once I’ve hooked the tank up, I cannot get the grill to light. Igniter appears to be working, and we can smell the propane making its way through, but even with a long lighter we get nothing. Is this the result of not poking a hole thru orifices?
@@neils8020 I only didn’t drill into the orifices because I was advised not to - totally new regulator/hose and used sealant. I am so annoyed I listened to the guy at the hardware store now. I really don’t want to disassemble this thing again. I am seeing in the shadows of the inside of the grill that propane is being emitted, curious as to why it’s still not enough to light?
@@neils8020 ended up getting a mini hand drill and doing the orifices. Just lit! I’m still a bit nervous because it’s gas etc but I’m just a worrier.
Kevin, the reason it won’t ignite is the air mixture is not properly adjusted for propane. You will need to rotate the metal sleeve that covers each burner screen to reduce the size of the air opening from the natural gas setting to the smaller propane setting. I had the same problem, because there was too much air mixing with the propane, so it would not burn. Good luck!
Why do you have to drill?
As I shared in the video; The orifice comes too small so the right amount of propane will not pass through. Must drill it a bit. Please watch the whole video and you’ll get it.
Without question one of the BEST 'step-by-step' instructional videos I've ever seen - VERY well done - thank you! (and it took me 10 minutes to get my UA-cam 'account' opened so I could post this! But you deserve the compliment. One thing I'd ask/mention: I'll assume you enlarge the 0.5 orifice because 'we want a higher burn' on the grill? Thanks again - well done.
I'm glad it was helpful. yes correct, the 0.5 will NOT allow enough fuel to pass through. you must drill/open it a bit. For converting to propane you want to get the orifice to .8mm. one person commented below the following and I believe its accurate: "Propane orifice = .032" = .8mm = 1/32"= letter size drill bit 67 approximately"
@@markjaquith8359 Thank you again. Per your advice I got the 0.50 jets and the 0.80 mm drill bit(s). I discovered that even the smallest collet I have for my Dremel would not 'hold' this tiny drill bit. And I didn't have the hand tool that you used. So . . . what I did - and it worked quite well - was to put the jet in my handheld drill chuck - lightly tightening it. I then put the drill in a small pair of Vice-Grips. So as I'm sure you've just guessed. I rotated not the drill bit, but rather the jet . . . with the Vice-Grips I 'pressed' the drill bit to the existing hole and had the handheld drill rotate the jet . . . carefully. It worked well and I got the jet drilled out. I used some 1000 sandpaper to smooth everything down, and now I'm ready to go. I HOPED I could use the natural gas hose and especially the expensive quick-release fittings that are on the grill . . . but researched and have been advised to absolutely NOT use ANYTHING from the natural gas 'system.' So thank you again!
Thanks for this video. Simple, easy, and straight to the point.
Thank you!! Still works 6 years strong 💪
Very helpful, thank you
What size orifice do I drill for a 3 burner since the BTU rating is higher than a 2 burner? Would it be the same .7 or .8mm bit?
I would go .8mm bit
Btw, a toothpick also works to compress the spring. Worked fine for me… prob not the best idea but it worked and the toothpick didn’t break :)
Can you please tell me what the orifice size should be for this specific weber model number running on natural gas? Im converting to natural gas.
If you really like the longer grip, why use a grip extension? Get the Glock 43 X which gives the longer grip and 10 round capacity instead of 6.
The “ body or shell of the gun” That part is called the frame.
Lol. Easy to forget the correct terms when making a video. 🤣
Outstanding video sir
Is there anything I need to do with the hose after this procedure? Or can I just use the hose from the grill and attach directly to my propane tank?
The hose that is intended for natural gas needs to be disposed of and replace it with a hose for propane with the regulator. a.co/d/ce6JbUp
what is the purpose of removing the bottom of the can? looks like it all comes out the top.
Thank you. Saved me from a huge headacbe.
Insanely helpful. Thank you Mark!
Bro, thank you so much for this video. I bought a used Glock 43 and the takedown lever Kept coming up. While shooting and it was causing me issues like if I drew it from a holster. After watching your video I looked at the takedown lever and noticed it was put in backwards. And the jagged side was facing forwards and the flat side was facing towards the magazine. And that was what was causing the issues. I don't know why the previous owner did that, so now I'm worried about the other internals in this gun. Thank you so much. Stays in place 100% now ur a life saver!!!
I just finished my conversion of my Weber Spirit II with your help, and I just wanted to say Thank You So Much! The instructions were easy and I purchased the items on Amazon that I didn;t have lying around my home. So excited and pleased with the results. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video that kept me from having to purchase a new grill!!
Glad it helped!
Did you go with the same orifices that he is calling out? Do you have a link to what you bought?
Just wanted to say thank you! I found a Weber spirit e310 for $100cad, was able to convert it from NG to LPG thanks to your tutorial. Everything was expected, drilling the 0.8mm hole, the thread size. Hopefully this can help many others, and save some bbqs from the landfill!

Propane orifice = .032" = .8mm = 1/32"= letter size drill bit 67- approximately
Thank you. Is that what the original profane size he got in the video before drilling? I drilled mine to #57 and it’s way too much
I was just able to successfully do this with a 3 burner Weber Genesis. Thanks for the help.
Right on! Happy grilling
