    In most holsters if you order the full size holster it will fit the centurion just fine. Because the frame and rail and light are in the exact same spot as the frame is the same size. You just have a slightly longer holster than you need which is negligible. I don’t even know why the centurion exists. You can run a glock 26 in the same holster as a 17 but not with a light. Lights you need the same frame size. M9-A4 is not a great platform for red dots. Pretty well known. If you do run it, thats you sight. Point shoot after that.

    • @Duty2Domicile

      Outcomes of wars are determined by political strategy, battles are determined by soldiers and their tactics. American soldiers have won every major battle since WW2. It’s still wise to look at the how and why when it comes to the military’s tactics and gear as they do well at their job. But we still need to understand what works for them is not always the right fit for a person or small group that are not logistically supported. With that, what we can learn from the military is a good base knowledge to adapt the parts that do pertain to your situation and disregard the other parts that don’t.

    I recommend safe life... People say these are trash for whatever dumb reason.. but they offer more protection surface than your standard carrier... Their also lightweight and cant stop a 50bmg.. the impact of a 50 may still ☠️☠️ you but it stops it.. this means you can fake multiple 556/762 and thr lost youll get is a sore chest.. i have a tactical and concealable carrier... If its civil war then you wouldnt want to advertise the armor however if the unrest is an invasion from russia or china youll want to be as decked out in the badass gear as much as possible.. as far as clothes youll want winter and spring clothes because i highly douby we will receive any help... Gloves i would go as far as kitchen cutting gloves they are thinner and cut resistant allowing you to get your fat fingers into a trigger well.. wool socks

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile 27 днів тому

      Those things are all great to have in a pack and needed for a sustainable trip. I wouldn’t be worried about an invasion from Russia or china though, they seriously lack the logistics to make a land invasion and would be met with more resistance than they would find worth it, but a civil collapse is very possible if the wrong things happen at the right time. I say the most tactical kit for long term survival is a wood burning stove and a good water source. If you can’t cook or boil water, then any fight will be 10x harder to win. Excellent info. And you buried the lead. Snuck in some footwear discussion. Nice 😎 It sucks getting holes in you. Also, plates are not magic. And the opponent needs to be a good enough shot that they hit you in the plates and not in the head, neck, shoulder, leg, groin, etc. Is one better off just putting micro terrain and.... macro terrain between them an incoming fire? I don't know man. I don't have a crystal ball. I just have a magic 8 ball and it hates me. I'm not trying to push people one way or another. But especially for vehicle mobile situations or places where you don't have to walk far and carry a lot of weight, I sure think plates make sense. Or if one is going to go and pick a fight. But that last one doesn't seem like a recipe for longevity, even if one IS wearing plates. Excellent and thank you for sharing. Great pictures and great points.

    @MrRellic Місяць тому

    Oh cool, I was gonna ask about lightweight/low vid plate carriers to pair up with the FLC, FLC being more important due to budget and mission type. SHTF would be a dangerous situation so low viz and weight protection is a good compromise.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Місяць тому

      A low vis plate carrier can work nicely for this set up. Mine is more configured for recon and long patrols to vent heat and moisture from sweating. It’s all about what you are willing or not willing to compromise. Armor can save your life for sure, but speed, mobility, and endurance can also get you out of a tight spot. No one can tell you what you may or may not face, let alone tell you how you “should” gear up. Just think what environmental conditions you might face and test your gear out. You will probably re-adjust your kit multiple times to see what works best for you. Thanks again for the comments.

    Subbed for more content like this. Would you also argue that a ballistic helmet for the duties of recon and patrol in SHTF situation, and is not really needed and might actually be more of a drawback for long term sustainment amongst civilians?

    • @woodsghost9088
      @woodsghost9088 Місяць тому

      You asked the maker of the vid, but I'll chime in quick: You may want to define "recon" and "SHTF". Are you experiencing heavy shelling? I think a helmet would be wise. And flack jacket. Are you looking at a house that had neighbors living in it a few days ago and now you are checking on them again as part of a neighborhood watch? How heavy is your ballistic helmet? 3.5 pounds? 2.5 pounds? Have you worn it for 6-12 hours? While moving around in the woods and chasing problems? Is your body ready and adapted to that? What purpose is your ballistic helmet serving? What is the context in which you are working? How is it helping you and hindering you in your context and situation? How is it helping or hindering you in your missions and tasks? YOU are the one who needs to answer those questions, and THAT will answer whether you need a ballistic helmet or not.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Місяць тому

      Helmets definitely have their place, but they are cumbersome and if you wear one for any length of time it will strain the neck, and if it’s hot outside it will definitely not vent heat out like a normal hat. If CQB is your biggest threat, then armor up, but if shrapnel and direct action room clearing mission sets are not a realistic priority for you, then I would suggest putting money towards other things. I was dressed like a juggernaut during GWOT, but I did a lot of room clearing and had vehicle support for sustainment supplies and longer transport. With that said, we were an occupational force with the biggest logistical support know to man. Our job included to hunt down and crush the enemy with overwhelming firepower. This is not at all in the capabilities of one person nor should it be thought of as a realist mission set. Even with vehicles supporting us and 30 people having my back, just moving a long time in the heat could drain a person and make them an easy target if they couldn’t move fast when they needed to. I believe I will make a video about these other options later on as there are a few questions about what kit is appropriate for different situations. Thank you for your question.

    • @MrRellic
      @MrRellic Місяць тому

      @woodghost9088 Thank you for the thoughtful response. I would only imagine perhaps someone in SHTF shooting at me at the absolute worst situation that could realistically occur. So the main important aspects of a helmet and extra gear like a flack jacket which is shrapnel is unlikely. At most it could maybe stop a rifle bullet, which would be an advantage in SHTF, but as I am certainly not looking to fight but deter and prepare, its not going to be the best financial investment compared to food, water, and more important equipment like a reliable weapon. $1.3k wendy exfil is not really the most important in my context, but the advantage of possibly placing night vision and having extra protection (while actually spending hours wearing the damn thing) is a consideration. I would def need training courses using that equipment before I even buy it though, and its far from the priority list compared to survival classes and more primary training like firearm and low light courses.

    • @woodsghost9088
      @woodsghost9088 Місяць тому

      @@MrRellic I connect with you man. I would never ever buy a Team Wendy. I'm sure they are wonderful. I'm on the fence on night vision. And I have NV. I think the electronic NV has come a long way. I think the new thermal has come a long way too. A bump helmet (basically a glorified bike helmet) goes a long way in making NV usable. Before getting NV I would train to work at night without NV. And wear safety glasses while doing that. I can talk a little more if interested but I am probably just saying stuff you already know. • @woodsghost9088
      @woodsghost9088 Місяць тому

      It's better to be grounded in the basics than theoretically capable of some cool "advanced" thing because in reality, you won't be able to do the "advanced" thing anyway. Are you capable of hitting a paper plate at 200 yards with an iron sighted PSA rifle? If not, why the hell do you have a LPVO and a $2000 rifle with free floated barrel, gizmos, and NV? And telling people "I'm good out to 600 yards?" It's a fantasy. And what's becoming pretty important is being trained to work with other people who have guns. So you don't shoot them in the back while in a sticky situation. That's a real party foul. And the consequences are forever losing a friend, kids losing their fathers, wives losing their husbands. So it needs to be taken seriously. And the super awesome people have just trained the basics till they cannot fail even when under stress. And that's what we all need to be doing. Dry fire is the best answer for all of us because I'm not made of money. Good luck.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile Місяць тому

      Thank you for the kind compliments. Being able to know how to detect and avoid dangerous situations is the best thing to train for. If SHTF happens and a person is alone, being smart is the biggest lifesaver. Knowing what you can and cannot do alone is key and having a realistic setup and mindset will always outdo the fancy stuff. I will probably try to make a video about stand-off distance and knowing how to read an area later on.

    I’m really torn between this beretta and a sig M11A1. It would be a range toy, as well as daily concealed carry.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile 3 місяці тому

      I carried the Sig M11 as a duty weapon for years so I can tell you my opinion with some confidence. The beretta M9A4 is the better gun, especially if you put a LTT trigger job in a bag into it. The beretta has a better grip, recoil impulse, and is smoother shooting overall, just get the G version. Both are reliable and both have a great track record. But if it were my money after using both of them, I’d go for the beretta all day every day.

      @@Duty2Domicile that’s probably what I’ll do then. I carry a full size M9 pretty regularly, but I shoot my P239 better than any gun I own. The more compact size of the sig is appealing. I could always cut threads off of the A4 though and recrown it.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile 3 місяці тому

      @@redbarronreviews2429 , if possible, try each one, but shooting both stock compared to what you can do to the M9A4 is almost an injustice 😂. If you’re shooting great with the sigs, the M11 will probably not be too much different than what you’re used to. The best part is, you can’t go wrong with either one

    Can’t say I disagree with you on that.😂. IMO, if you like the TLR-1 or surfire x300 light on a Glock 45, might as well get this 47. It shoots better than the other Glocks for the exception of the 34.

    I have a brand new APX-A1 Compact. Had this issue with one of the two mags that came with it. Bought 4 more Beretta 15-rd mags, while loading them at least 2 required me to fiddle with the follower to get it to go back into the metal mag part. The issue seems to be it rides up too high and gets stuck. Haven't shot these yet, hoping they'll settle in. Getting the 15th round in was much more difficult than other 9mm mags I've loaded, even with a speedloader. Might resort to making them 14rd mags, it's just a range gun for now.

    That trigger upgrade kit was really meant for other models....mostly. The M9A4 already comes with a upgraded trigger and a de-cocker so spending time $ on this upgrade...meh. No real bang for the buck unless you want a skelatized style hammer. Trigger pull and reset is exactly the same.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile 4 місяці тому

      The spring kit does not have anything for the decocker, but I can tell you the trigger was leaps and bounds better afterwards. Especially the double action and the reset

    It is pretty sweet out of the box but mine is ultimately sweet for me after adding a Langdon Tactical Trigger Job in a Bag and Ameriglo Spartan sights. +500 rounds without a hitch. I've run my Langdon Tactical compact RDO slide on it with a Holosun 407C with no problems.

    Comparing the 5.56 to a 308 NATO rifle is hilarious I’m just honest 5.56 is weak plus 308 has better capabilities.

    • @Duty2Domicile
      @Duty2Domicile 4 місяці тому

      I agree compared to the 308, the smaller 5.56 is weaker but with the right grain weight and barrel the 5.56 is very effective against soft targets. The problem is the military tried to make it a do all round that doesn’t make it do anything great. But the smaller round is more common to find and cheaper to train with which is a big factor. In a crazy situation it may be better to have more of the weaker rounds than just a handful of the full power rifle rounds. But since I can’t see into the future, you could be right on your choice depending on what situation you may find yourself in. Thank you for the comment!

    Picked up a 92x rdo Centurion recently. I got the one that came with 2 18rd mags. I put a Swampfox Liberty 2 on mine with the Beretta plate. I don’t mind the way it looks too much after mounting it for the price. Looking forward to shooting it soon I hope.
