I bought one based on this video alone. Do not hesitate Brian is a very caring proprietor and will take care of you long after the sale is complete. Highly recommend his store! Note the new Heavy Duty upright that Aerus is selling is very top heavy! This unit Brian makes is not and is easy to maneuver and works very well on plush/soft carpet.

This cleaner is based on the 1982 Canadian E-Special - really only the motor and colors have changed.
Yup, it does have a different upper and lower body, motor and motor housing. It can trace its lineage to the Canadian Lux AP series canisters from the mid 70s. In fact all genuine lux hoses for this style machine will have E-AP stamped on them, which is a remnant of the old Canadian AP tooling. They're excellent machines
@@RVALuxVacuums My Lux Classic is the same as the E-Special but much different than the AP Series in styling. All Electroluxes are essentially the same as far as the basics.
They’re still built the same way and so they can be expected to last for decades.

If the is residential guardian upright was so popular still then ashy did Aerus discontinue it.
The same reason Ford or any other manufacturer stops selling any product - cost, consolidating product lines or wanting something new. The guardian upright was replaced by the Lux heavy duty upright, which is similar but not the same configuration and before it was discontinued it was still selling well at my franchise.
