Can I just handwrite Romaji?
also another way... take text book used by japanese for learning english. it can be quite helpful
“Pretend ur in Japan” Yes please 😍 Thanks ik a bit of Japanese now :D
In my experience, reading novels only helps with fluency if you read them out loud.
This is exactly how I learned english as a kid. This and english is in our school curriculum. I shall drown myself in japanese content from now on😆🎉
I am no weeb I swear
Immersive learning is how I learned English! All I can say that it work, this comment, for example, can be used as proof
This doesn't relate to the video whatsoever, but I just realized that your mascot is a cute little animal. Before, I see the black patch as sun glasses and the line that was supposed to be one of the eye is a mouth. Idk why but my brain just completely ignore the other eye lol
Nice
I’m the type of person who relies on random bursts of motivation to start studying, and that really sucks. I’m currently learning german to live there, but I haven’t been making progress because I don’t really feel like studying at all. I think it’s mainly because I naturally acquired english and it’s frustrating not being able to just acquire german as well. the thing is, it took me several years until I was finally fluent in english, and I have to reach intermediate level in german as soon as possible :/
“You can’t learn a language in a week” My Chinese manufactured pacemaker that instantly gave me fluent knowledge of Mandarin and an odd sense of loyalty to the CCP:
I do about 4-6 episodes a day (20 min each, so about 1 hour 20 minutes minimum a day) is that fine? I do listen to podcasts too on some days, id say about every week day for 30min-1hr, but i don’t really pay much attention to it. Am I fine or should i do it longer?
Another important question would watching an english show dubbed in japanese with japanese subs any good
When should i start understanding words being said?
My biggest question is how long shoukd i be immersing before studying on anki and learning grammar?
How much time would you recommend spending on immersion and Anki per day?
Another tip I also use is listening to japanese covers of English songs.
I stopped at 1:52. A lot of people can't just go to Japan and immerse there.
Watch 20 more seconds.
@@Fifasher2K Lol. He and you got me.
14:57 mei hachimoku fan? W
Are these decks for anki pc or anki mobile cause when i click on the first link it seems more for pc
Hers my take, a penguin that speaks English at a native level and speaks Japanese with a degree in Linguistics is a better language learner than any human.
Thaaaanks!!! This is so helpful been watching anime since i was a kid but never learned nihonggo coz i was relying on subs
I’ve definitely heard this background music somewhere 😏🤫
日本語は話せないけど理解できる
lot of crazy takes such as "shy people cant write on paper" and "all input learners are losers"
word of warning for beginners 10 new words a day can get overwhelming quick i actually had it on 0 for a couple weeks it builds up quick
Awesome video. Your advice helps me strategize for the years ahead! Thx
This guy has not shown that he can actually speak Japanese but for some reason 100K people are following him listening to what he's telling people to do. He's just posting videos behind a cartoon character and saying a bunch of generic advise that you can hear on thousands of other videos. But he's not giving real advice about learning languages or even helping people learn anything specific about Japanese. Meanwhile there's Japanese Channels with 2K Subs that are actually trying to help people that can't really get any views. Those are the videos that you want to watch if you want to learn Japanese. This guy is just talking nonsense. He likes to hear yourself talk and everyone is listening to him just he's making money off is affiliate sponsorships not even speaking Japanese lol. I say this is a completely bilingual speaker in both Japanese and English do not waste your time watching this guy he was just grifting off of the Japanese language explosion on UA-cam and he knows he can make money off the views turn off the affiliate links without actually contributing anything to the conversation. Watch Dogen, George from JapanesefromZero or MattvsJapans old stuff if you want serious stuff to help you learn fast and avoid channels like this. Watch LanguageJones for theory.

This was hanging in my recommended for a long, long time, making me furious until just now when I watched it and discovered that the title was just clickbait. Well played, but also still taste the tip because DAMN is that title some bait-tacular bait!! 😁🔫 My learning method has been to just force it. One way I did that was to play my third playthrough of Pokémon SV in based 日本語。Another is to just go to Japanese gathering places in the meatspace and see if people understand me when I talk.
That Pearl dou REALLY gets on my nerves. Don't judge different people that way. 😠. And the dude is always agreeing with her and nodding like a stupid puppy.
These videos save my life thank you for putting so much time and effort into them I hope you feel fulfilled knowing how big of a difference you make for so many people
I know Japanese
I finished kaishi 1.5k, do i just repeat until they're all mature or do i add my own cards?
this is interesting because english is not my first language, but we're taught it all our lives in my country. STILL i was very basic at it until 11th grade (that was loooong ago). that's when i decided to just start watching youtube videos about things i liked fully in english without subtitles, then i started reading only in english, and lastly i started writing just in english and make friends who spoke the language. nowadays i do everything in english and my primary phone language is english. but my english improved WAY MORE this way than learning the language through school all my life, which was boring as all we learned was grammar, grammar, grammar. the comprehension is very underestimated and underdeveloped and i see it now. well, with this, my test scores went from average to perfect after a short while and i started to think they were very easy to me, because i was actually more advanced than what school teach us. i understood grammar perfectly because i immersed myself in the language. i was overwhelmed for years from just thinking of how i should start learning japanese as it seemed too difficult to me, when what this video showed me was that THIS is how i learned another language in the past. so... this is exactly what i'm going to do to learn japanese, and i'm incredibly grateful that this video popped up in front of me! i will be watching the anime i hyperfixate on without subs and i will be listening to audio dramas and podcast about my interests for a while <3
I honestly just love the sound of it. Once the novelty of learning a new language wears off ill probably forget it all but its fun in the mean time
I think this is exactly the way I learned English, like, the foundation came from school and the input from youtube
6:03 YAKUZA MENTIONED
I’m here because I need to watch one piece on a vpn
これは、私達日本人の英語学習にも役立てられそうだ
As someone who can't listen to something like this at work, it makes me kind of sad that I can only find maybe 1 hour a day.
I am a german and i learned german in 1 second so german isnt that hard you just have to do it
Another Great Video! Hope you post more. I watch your videos in between breaks of learning Japanese.
That is how i learned how to understand german as a teen in Estonia. I watched german satellite tv for years and my brain just 'put it all together'. Now at 44 i can easily understand even very technical german without a problem.
It's weird listening to someone speak about pitch accent when they have a thick Valley-speak uptalk, and every sentence they say in English sounds like they're asking a question. I can tell you're from the West Coast? You probably don't notice it anymore? Notice that I'm not really asking questions? It's just a product of the uptalk Valley-speak pitch change?
That is exactly what happened to me, actually! They stopped showing the dubbed anime that I liked on TV so I turned to the internet and could only find it subbed, so I watched. After that I went down the rabbit hole watching the whole catalog of that website day and night for years, then many many years later I was watching a new anime as it was releasing and I couldn't wait and downloaded the raw episode and to my surprise... I understood everything! To this day I can't read shit without furigama so I don't considered myself fluent, but I can hear and talk in japanese just fine hahaha (p.s. Another long story. The same happened with english tbh. There wasn't enough fanfiction about my ship in my native language back in the day, so I found a website that had a lot of them, but all written in english, so everyday I came home from school and started reading kpop smut in english with a google translate tab open and years later when I went to university it turn out that I had the best english level in my class full of rich kids that had lived abroad!!!) so yeah... I don't know if there's a lesson here or not, but oh well
probably no one is gonna read my first comment much less this one, but basically I acquired two languages "accidentally" while the one language I ever thought consciously that I wanted to learn was french for some reason (that yes I eventually learned "the old way") but nowadays I feel super hindered when it comes to both advance the languages I already know but want to become even more fluent in and in starting new ones because I immediatly feel discourage with the slow and intentional progress and my early success were so easy in a sense that I simply realized one day that I can speak japanese/english, but also now I'm not a teenager with all the time in the world to watch a ton of shows in my target languages and, also very important, I'm not as impressionable as I was when I was a teenager so I just don't obsess about stuff anymore to watch/read hours and hours and hours without bearly understanding it
i want to learn japanese because it's a pretty language but i'm not a weeb
No thanks i thik i have to learn English first even though i found Japanese so interesting
how do i type in Japanese exactly? especially when my keyboard is mostly comprised of English letters
How do I use Anki bro holy this guy is full of yap with no actual tutorial no idea how this has so many views and likes
I feel like those to people was taking it all out of context
