I wanted to try and extract a little extra torque/HP from my 3.6. Normally, intakes don't make much difference on low revving engines, and the Jeep has a pretty nice intake already.
To get the most out of the 3.6, you need to reprogram the Engine Contol Module. Livernois performance does this. of course you can go the supercharger route. But, that's way out of range.
So, a few notable things about the install. Generally pretty simple. I did have to backtrack a bit, but the overall install took 30-45min.
The initial impression:
Normally, there is a little bit off a torque hole at around 2200rpm. With the intake, the hole is "shallower". But the big difference is at 3200-3800 rpm. Much more aggressive sound, especially with aggressive throttle imput. Acceleration at 3200+ rpm seemed better.
When I get more seat time, I'll update here. But for now, I'm pleased.
