Awesome!!!!! Any layout updates? I'm sure you've been following and experiencing all the latest real world NG activities at the WW&F RR. Thanks for Sharing!!!
Spectacular just doesn't sum up this beautiful layout. Fine, flowing track and more details than one can imagine. Thanks for letting us see your work.
How did you make your trees ?? I’m trying to remember what the trucks are I’m guessing mustard branches then you spray the tops and add flocking
Beautiful layout. The harbor is a real piece of art, as is the lumber mill.
SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the tour!!
Fantastic railroad!!
Dear Mr. Hoffman, you have a very nice layout. I have a question. What are the buildings (tunnels) made of wood called 3.27 - 3.34 min. and what is their purpose? Many thanks in advance for your reply. Best regards from Germany
Fantastic David
omg wow this is the best transition era layout that i have ever seen.thank you for posting and sharing😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is no On30 layout, this is an On30 world 👍! One amazing job. Thank you for the video !
Wonderfully done!
Very cool! I grew up in Pueblo and as a kid I played in the railroad yards near the 4th street bridge. As a teenager, a friend and I would pack our backpacks and jump on an open boxcar and ride to wherever it took us. We usually ended up around Salida and Buena Vista area. Rode though the Moffet tunnel in an open boxcar! After camping in the mountains for a few days, we would hitch hike home. Engineers would see us sitting in a boxcar door with our legs dangeling out and just wave. This was back around 1968-1972. Can't do that now! Now, I live just down the road from you in Peachtree Corners! I'll come check you out at the Piedmont Pilgramage 2023!
Fantastic layout!
Very nice job. Great layout!
Hi
Great layout. I loved the Southern Railway. There was a transfer track that ran behind my boyhood home in Atlanta. Was told it was an L&N track but I only saw a trio of Southern GP9s pulling those transfer runs - from Seaboard's Hulsey Yard in downtown Atlanta, north to Southern's Armour Yard in Buckhead. Never less than 100 cars, and ran no faster than 15-20 mph, but they rocked the neighborhood. They also had a duo of MP15s that switched industries on that line. One was a lumber company and another was a cement plant, though there were a lot of other industries on that line. Tracks were pulled up in the early 90s and it's now a Rail Trail, but there used to be several big trains per day coming through there until the early 1980s.
One thing I especially like is the ballast that you used. 13:25 Please explain. Is the design 100 percent arround the room? Very nice layout.
Excellent!
Great wide radius curves! No toy-like nonsense. Breathtaking rolling stock.
So jealous you have the room to run prototype trains on prototype sorts of curves and through amazing scenery that you've created. It looks like a real Short line there are tracks everywhere because there isn't enough space to separate things properly. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.
Sir, Where did you get the incredible background murals?
I had home depot build the shed which is 20 wide by 26 long, HVAC and power via underground, shelf layout round the back and side with 30 inch radius inside turns and 34 in radius at each end towards. I run Southern and NS my storage is pull out drawers which hold both engines and cars. Outstanding layout...Southern serves the South
Robert, do you have your own youtube channel, I would like to follow your progress, Dave T
Very cool!
Tom will be hosting an op session as part of the SER Convention that will take place September 2023.
Such a cool layout
I am a nmra member your layout is great too i am glad i got to see the video thanks !
The woman in front of Boyds Billiards is really cute. What's her phone number?
Nice and very well narrated.
Loved Confederex and it all
Awesome layout
Very nice. Awesome job on scenery. Do you like the Peco track & turnouts or would you go a different direction?
If there was such a thing as an instant mmr for an individual based solely on his/her layout I can't imagine a more deserving candidate than Steve here if he isn't already one.
I've seen so many layouts both in person and on UA-cam, that I'm rarely surprised. Impressed? Almost always. But rarely surprised. LOL.... color me equally surprised and Impressed on this one. This layout is a gem. A pure joy to look at. I could set up a lawn chair somewhere and just watch this layout all day. Excellent work sir!!
That is a wonderful and big layout. I like how you've modeled key locations on that route. As impressive as the video is, I'm certain it's even more impressive in-person. Operating it in a prototypical fashion must be a joy. I had the intention of building an On3 layout but other situations changed my plans. I still have a love for On3 and have several locomotives and cars. Maybe I'll build a diorama instead if I can find the space for it.
The backgrounds are some of the best I have ever seen. 👌Spectacular work.
How do you deal with dust on such an exquisite detailed layout?
This is excellent!!!
I was thinking that's no Atlanta accent even before you started talking about Sunnyside. Was it the weather or the taxes? LoL. Nice layout, by the way.
Nice
2:46 Something I never noticed on any other layout: a mailbox in front of a house. Awesome!
Nice
Very nice layout extremely detailed dam good all the way sir my compliments sir
Awesome layout. Thank you for sharing this. Hello from West Georgia.
Great layout, and nicely edited video. How big is the space?
A very nice video and layout. I have plans to expand my own HO scale layout and model a Pennsylvania Railroad town during the 1940s-50s, though I don't believe mine will be quite as detailed as this.
If both trains are numbered 17 (Super Chief/El Capitan), then the second section would identified as 2-17 or Second 17. Due to train orders and dispatch instructions identifying each movement, it would not be possible for two trains to have the same number.
Great job... Thanks so much taking the time to create this video... Very inspiring!
