The gentlemans theatrical release was 2020, not 2014...

so far i'm up to the scene of Legends where Tom Hardy plays the Kray Twins (beautifully I might add) and fairly accurate to the real story. Since his brother Reggie was a certified psycho off his meds. And rather open bout his orientation/partner preference which was VERY taboo in their culture, not to mention the pure timeframe. so when the guys trick them into a "sit down / meet" to simply talk, they swap it into jumping the 2 while the main guy who was supposed to show up and talk to them like a man is in hiding, just sends his goons.. so to see him Pump fake with his suit jacket pockets as if he has two long pistols is brilliant while mind-gaming them into believing he's just abandoned Ronnie (which if they had 2 pennies to rub together between ALL of them for brain cells.. they would've known). the fact he came with TWO HAMMERS to dual wield is absolutely NUTS. and the dual wielding brass knuckles is just as brutal... but to be fair, those kind of old barfights where pipes, pins, metal, etc nothing was limited. two men takin on a half dozen or so shows their sheer brutality and reminds me of Tom Hardy's role in the movie where he had two other brothers where they lived in either Virginia or West Virginia where they were moonshiners. One brother survived a war and came home all messed up with PTSD and could only cope while on the moonshine but if he goes too far, he's a tall walking beast of destruction. then Tom Hardy's character was a wide country boy who was just country bred, country fed, mountain man gangster during the prohibition era. lastly, i can't forget ole Shia Le'Booof - aka the runt - and his friend who stole all their reserves while Tom's character (BONDURANTS thats their name) is healing from having his THROAT SLIT WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR while his hands were being held over those OG cars (idk if it was a Model T) or some other kind but there weren't that many cars for regular pedestrians during this time, at least i don't believe... but more than just a few thousand in the country. I think prohibition was roughly a 8-10 year period give or take in the early 1900s. and i'm not a big car person but to be tricked like that, having your hands held across a motor, being pulled --> that way --> and another POS man comes up from behind to further push his body and skull MORE --> that way --> while dragging the straight razor across his throat eat-to-ear <-- THIS WAY <-- and if it wasn't as COLD as it was to slow the heart beating + his quick thinking of a combination of holding his throat + using the super cold ice and fresh snow to pack it and further cool it down, so he didn't bleed out as fast.. cuz for those who saw it - he survived the throat slashing long enough for those two PoS to ... do what they did to ole girl before she stumbled out and found him bleeding out on the ground. and he thought he walked himself to the hospital without realizing it was ole girl that SAVED him by driving. after she's been beaten and violated. she had bled for quite a WHILE... survived it. that alone is massive. plus the gunshots he survived later on in the film, which is on the tip of my tongue but can't quite remember it. all i know is they thought they were invincible and had local lore and legends about their family and bloodline. sadly, the ONE time Tom Hardy's character actually has a moment to himself to dance in joy/happiness after everyone goes to bed after a nice warm meal... he falls into the icy water with extremely low temps, then had to walk back home only to go down from pneumonia.... broke my heart that the one time he physically displays his happiness is what took him out in that movie. but back to Legends... Ronnie and maybe Reggie too served in the military (but i THINK, don't quote me) its both mentioned in a real life doc and the film, that Reggie was discharged due to bipolar paranoid-schizofrenia or however its spelled. their fights were absolutely brutal. the old days of bar fights and whats considered today "firm fights" where "futbol" is taken so serious that they've literally become "gangs" just never named that nor call themselves a gang. same with Biker Clubs.. my point being is they wouldn't "snitch" or locals who knew who they were wouldn't snitch. even if the judge KNEW for a FACT it was them but no one would point at them and say "they did it all!" anyway, imagine being snuck up on from behind by a BIG DUDE who is OUT OF HIS MIND blatantly a FIGHTER for majority of his life, fighting opponents of all sizes and strengths, win lose draw; it still was gonna happen. comes in and starts bashing people over the dome. i'm surprised at least 4-6 of them didn't die from those hits to the head... i'm 100% certain a LOT of them left without question, broken ribs, arms, collar bones, jaws, noses, teeth, orbital sockets and the worst being cranial fractures which is probably why the guys struck in the head survived - skull fractures allowing the brain swelling to happen naturally. at any rate, surviving those attacks alone is insane. then we go back to the brass knuckles; i used to have a pair but someone snaked them. my old man had another two kinds; the ones i have are made out of zinc i believe? they are super light but according to the oldman they are technically harder and do more damage. and when i say LIGHT, they're maybe less than 2lbs or less than 1... and on the outside these. also at one point on Netflix, there was a British gangster movie that were the generation of leaders of firms and pubs and "outfits" or w/e they were called back then; at the end of it, the older guys that were the head of each group met with the MUCH MUCH younger Kray Twins played by other actors, and they were still mid teens. Trying to get into that life. I enjoy pretty much every movie I've seen him in [tom hardy that is] - he's such a great actor, depth, accents, variety, charisma, dedication to role, and his diets + workouts for different characters are so transformative. similar to christian bale who needed to lose over HALF his weight down to be so SUPER SCRAWNY in order to play the insomniac factory worker in The Machinist and after that filming he had to BULK UP MASSIVELY gaining weight that was 2.25x - 2.5x his weight from the Machinist to debut his first appearance in the Batman trilogy with Christopher Nolan. Also, Tom Harder acting the role of Btirish's most dangerous inmate / most violent lion, he was so dedicated to playing Bronson he was even shot in a full frontal nude series... which is rare to see male actors do for some reason. You can see all kinds of A-list actresses get naked. Other actresses also get their doubles to do it. A rather "Fun Cinema Fact" is that in the horribly sad drama/psychological movie with Willem Dafoe was in "Anti-Christ" where the director had to literally use a "stunt double" for Willem's Character during the male nudity bit because, and i quote, "It's JUST TOO BIG to be filmed..." and that's the day I learned there's a real video of Willem DaFoe on some kind of video shoot/set walking around stark nakie, flopping his willie about while its soft and it looked like it was over a foot long... so I can 100% see why he didn't want to film that but instead opted for a dude LOOKED as if he was fluffed for the shot since it was still technically "soft" it was chubbed up a bit as you can so it wasn't small but also not "too big" for majority of men to feel insecure. even the most "secure" men regardless being average and their woman loving it, to those above average if not 2x+ the average size, even those would be insecure. seriously, google it. its the wildest short cliip i've seen thats in like 240p or something n very small but you can see that thing flopping around like a boneless TODLER ARM, a LANKY TODDLER... its so creepy.
