College Baseball's Most Important Duo
With College Baseball being a niche sport especially in the 1980s, things changed when Rafael Palmeiro and Will Clark made their way to Mississippi State and brought the sport into the mainstream with the help of the new channel called ESPN. The duo became known as thunder and lightning and helped Mississippi State make it to the College World Series in 1985, though they would lose in the semis to Miami. Clark and Palmeiro would go on to have great MLB careers, but off field issues involving the two and Palmeiro's steroid use led to conflict.

When The Yankees-Red Sox Rivalry Peaked
Переглядів 47 тис.День тому
The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry goes back to 1919 when Babe Ruth was sold to the Yankees for $100,000. For the rest of the century, the Yankees were the best franchise in baseball while the Red Sox were a team of misfortunes plagued by the curse of the bambino. From the 1946 World Series to 1967 to Bucky Dent to Bill Buckner to the 1999 ALCS, the Yankees always found a way and the Red Sox didn't. B...
The Underrated 1st Ballot Hall Of Famer
Переглядів 12 тис.14 днів тому
Throughout Eddie Murray's 21-year career, he was insanely consistent. 30 home run, 100 rbi seasons were an absolute guarantee for him. Resulting in a career with 500 home runs and 3,000 hits with only Hank Aaron and Willie Mays doing so before him. But with this, despite being a 1st ballot hall of fame, Murray still fell a little under the radar. In this video, we look at his career and why he ...

The Fatal Pitch That Changed Baseball
Переглядів 5 тис.21 день тому
In 1920, Ray Chapman was hit in the head by a pitch from Carl Mays that would end up killing him. The pitch came as a result of decades negligence for player's safety and a time of pitching dominance. As a result of the tragic pitch, baseball made new rules to protect players and give the advantage to the hitters. Leading to a power surge with the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Rogers Horn...
Do Former Cubs Curse Other Teams?
Переглядів 1,9 тис.21 день тому
A theory proposed by Chicago Cubs fans in the past called the ex-Cub factor, is that players who left the team would curse other teams. One theory says that a team with 3 former Cubs can't win the World Series, while another says that whatever team has more former Cubs will lose the World Series. Both have good success rates and proved themselves throughout the decades with none bigger than for...

Growing up in Westchester, NY, and New England at this time, given the greatness of these teams and their games, and all of the great players/coaches on both sides, I didn't realize it at the time, but this might actually be the peak of sports in my lifetime. This was a nice trip down memory lane.

Anyone watched the Tribe blow a World Series lead in the 9th inning of Game 7 in 1997 and a 3 games to 1 lead in 2016, partly because of Michael Brantley's absence, knows the Colavito Curse is alive and well. Will the 3rd time in 2024 be the charm?

If he was ineffective and a part-timer most of the regular season, why on earth put him in centerfield in the post season. Centerfield is the most demanding of the outfield positions.

Bill Mueller was always my favorite and insanely underrated. Silver slugger and AL batting champion in 03’ and only guy to ever hit two grand slams in a game, one from each side of the plate (also had a solo HR that game). Career 291 avg. Wore #11 as a kid because of him.

I was a young Yankees fan in 2004, and seldom have I felt pain like I felt after the ALCS that year. That planted the seed of a lifetime of beef towards the Red Sox lol. Definitely hated seeing them win the World Series that year and then three more by 2018 while we've only managed to get one in the last 15 years.

7:53 BARRY❕ I just got # 11’s auto last week Stoked on it too I really dig how much more obtainable players certified autos are now with Panini/Donruss , Topps & Bowman , etc all doing their thing with some great auto’s out there . I had just got OJ Simpson’s auto A 5/5 just before Christmas time so about 6mo b4 he passed away Kind of a trip Glad I got that before hand That’s 1 of My favs OJ, Yogi Berra’s probably My fav Juan Soto 1/1 Barry Larkin , Pete Rose , Aiden Hutchinson, Penei Sewell , Marshall Faulk Those are My favorites I still need Barry Sanders , Bo Jackson , Ricky Henderson , Ken Griffey Jr autos I do have Jr & Ricky & Barry’s top rookie cards @ least their Top 5 of each Barry’s Score, Ricky’s Topps, Griff’s UD 1 Still enjoyable to Me The nostalgia of collecting keeps Me hyped on it and wanting to get the cards I had as a kid and now I want them all over again But now I’m really only into the autos or else old school vintage I really like 70’s & earlier cards
