..... purtroppo quando esapera il temperamento la voce si sgrana e si rompe. Molto meglio nel canto più mite e misurato dove la voce risponde ed è meglio governata. Questa è una brutta interpretazione.

Un soprano, con una bove sfuocata,senza colore, non ci siamo.

She’s not a true mezzo and even less a dramatic mezzo. She’s much more of a soprano with limited top but very well developed chestvoice which she learned how to bring higher up into her middle. This is often how female singers trained their voices in the past and regardless of fach.

Baltsa is a good singerr but I prefere her in other roles than in Rossini

Agnes Baltsa had a particular kind of belting chest voice in the that I became obsessed with when I first discovered her. Not necessarily a “dramatic” voice like Zajick or Obrasztova but a very compelling way of using her attributes to transmit intensity and pathos. A great singer, one of my favorites.

Excellent vowels, powerful chest voice, amazing clearness. I love her.

This woman was one of the best Carmens ever to grace the stage. An ideal mezzo-soprano, she could sing every role from coloratura Rossinian ones to dramatic Wagnerian, and even high mezzo\low soprano roles like Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni", Giulietta in "Tales of Hoffmann", Despina in "Cosi Fan Tutte" and Elisabetta in "Maria Stuarda".

I wish and wait Verdi’s Amneris as Baltsa new recording. Conducted by Gatti is better.

This woman must have the biggest balls ever. To sing that passage in chest voice...it boggles my mind. Outstanding!

A great version, at points a bit too melodramatic, but still great. I can't help feeling the role is a bit too big for her voice. I always feel like the introduction should be faster than what we usually hear.

Che disastro! Praticamente una sirena dei pompieri che rivaleggia con una pescivendola al mercato. Ma come si fa a far passare per drammacità questo berciare forsennato, la Zampieri con questa vocalità sempre precaria e la Baltza, che pure voce e tecnica ne aveva, sempre con questo strillo sfogato e volgare in eccesso. No bocciate entrambe.

"Noooo! Rossini is for light voices!" Mkay, have fun with your cute little mosquito voices if that's what you really want. I'm sticking with real voices like Baltsa, Verrett, Callas and Ramey in this repertoire.

Agnes is the standout performer here. One of her best roles.
