    GM really screwed up with those tacky plastic inserts front and back, some 5-mph collision nonsense demanded by the Feds. Once the plastic pieces fall apart, the car's image takes a major hit. I'd find a metal fab specialist to fill in the gaps.

    Brother, its the other way around. The Subaru being a 4cyl is going to be at higher rpms to accomplish the same torque that its counterparts would be with a 3cyl. Idk why everyone always thinks u get more torque sooner when its the opposite. Less cylinders = more torque alot sooner. More cylinders = higher rpms for said torque

    • @hylandshire
      @hylandshire 4 місяці тому

      I’m just talking low end torque, like off idle. Having driven both 3 cylinder k-trucks can confirm that the 4 cylinder firing order is more stable and gives more torque at super low rpm since it’s not relying on crank counter weight to make that torque down low, just firing more regularly. Was smooth and easy to crawl around the property in, unlike the 3 cylinder in the same environment. You’re not wrong that peak torque on a three cylinder will come in lower than a comparable 4 cylinder generally, just not relevant for my needs of the truck. I’ll admit I was way off on my rpm examples though hahahaha.

    • @jay9534
      @jay9534 4 місяці тому

      @hylandshire all good brother. I love these trucks, but i always hear the misconception about 4cyl. vs 3cyl. With Same displacement engine, 3cyl will 100% give u more torque at a lower rpm. But the 4cyl definitely has its advantages also. For ex. Its going to do better at higher speeds. Anyways, 1st time i ever say anything about this topic. Hope it helps someone out there make the decision that fits them best. Cool videos bro.

    The Polaris quads prior to these were not expensive, and actually were much cheaper than their Japanese competitors.

    • @hylandshire
      @hylandshire 4 місяці тому

      In the early days (1988 example) Polaris msrp was generally comparable to Japanese models, but for what you were getting (loud 2-stroke and chain drive, poor quality) they were viewed as expensive. Their wholesale margins were also terrible for dealers (high made in USA production costs) so many dealers opted out of selling them. In 88 Polaris petitioned the International Trade Commission to put tariffs on Kawasaki and Suzuki essentially saying they couldn’t compete. The commission found that their products were not comparable enough (not worth the same) and no tariff was imposed. You’re right that in the mid 90s when Polaris models were priced less than Japanese imports (simply due to lack of demand) but the stigma of too expensive for what I’m getting remained. (Magnum 425 sold for 5499 in 1995 and Prairie 400 sold for 6200). The independent suspension and other upgrades plus good marketing of the 97 Sportsman turned the tide for Polaris and people started to see the value.

    YES!!!!!!! We used to have a 1985 Dodge Colt Vista similar to this one when I was growing up, & I would give ANYTHING to have another one!!!!! Ours was Glacier Blue Metallic, 2WD, & an automatic. It also had a manually-tuned AM-FM stereo radio with no cassette deck. NOT a star on the track by ANY means, but..........let's just say that Glacier Blue Metallic was definitely the appropriate color for ours, as it DEFINITELY had glacier-like acceleration!!!!! 13:19.............the EXACT buzzer, too!!!! It was one of the few buzzers that DIDN'T scare the shit out of me as a kid.

    Quick question has NH changed the rules for these? It was you are not supposed to drive more than 25 miles from your home or business or on road that have more than a 35mph speed limit. Has this changed or do you not worry about it and if so have you ever been pulled over? I dont need to go on highways but both Lowes and HD are over 25 miles away and I would drive there anyway just wondering if its legal or not.
