Personally. Mine choice is Yukari and Chie. Knowing shoujo and harem manga logic. It's Yukari and Chie the most likely ones for the MCs. Chie is Yukari's parallel (Chie always is Yukari in materials between 2 games like Gekkoukan costume mode in p4, they also meet a gang in SLs then and come to accept the MCs's help, etc). First archetype girls who put on a tough mask but sweet to the MCs and girl next door vibe with underdog story who thinks they couldn't get the suave cool MCs is the flag. Underdog is the flag. Soejima says Chie is the foundation for design and colour for p4 as a normal cute girl that can exsist in real life so it's like heroine. How Yukari reacts to Yuki's ending. Like how Chie monologuing she isn't special like other girls in Valentine really hit in the feels and is just sweet. Underdog just makes them special. During my first playthrough of Persona 3, I never truly felt close with ANY of the girls and I still don't. As for Persona 4 and 5, it was obvious who MY best girls were: Yukiko for P4 and Futaba for P5.

I know this video is really old but people that are saying about persona 1 and 2 main characters... have you really played these games? and not only read the manga? 1. Philemon isn't that strong, actually you can see he getting beaten all the time to anybody in the franchise(by the same rule Persona 2 MC is the weakest if you consider Philemon part of his power scalling, cuz Yaldabaoth has the same powers, metaverse or just mementos is the same realm, both Yaoldabaoth and Philemon has the same feats) 2. The greatests feat to philemon was making Velvet Room, which could also include the people inside as part of his powers, right? No, Only Igor was made by him and igor was beaten too in persona 5. 3. "Persona 1 and 2 can use their powers in the real world" actually the only character that used powers in the real world in these games(even though boosted by technology) was maki, in which she cured herself, the whole plot of p1 was inside a computer(well, basically inside Maki's brain the computer was just there boosting her already existing psychic powers), persona 2 was inside something like a chessboard game for two gods, but if you want to argue, characters in neosona that managed to use powers in real world were: Teddy(To cast samarecarm on Nanako, cuz she died... and after making a body, which brings back the question "Who was created first humans or gods?"), SEES(again boosted with technology), Marie(cuz she's a goddess), Yaldabaoth(after fusing the metaverse and real world, although very unlikely for him to do that in real world, which's why he could only manifest himself inside velvet room and after fusing both concepts) 4. Inside the stream of human thoughts(AKA: Mementos in both p2 and p5) the god reigning these realms are very weak, they are just humans,Philemon was very weakened even tho he was already weak af and the grail/yaldabaoth, the only thing that prevented P5 characters to finish off Yaldabaoth(excluding the cutscenes saves) was that he got powers directly from the stream of thoughts/emotion to heal himself(and even with that he got beaten considerably easier).

Makotos Final Boss is stronger than all of their final bosses. This shouldnt argued since its just facts.
