a message to those dealing with agoraphobia
Переглядів 20Рік тому
I've been dealing with agoraphobia close to 4 years now. My story is no different from yours. No matter the different circumstances we may have, there's only one way to overcome it. Stop waiting for the stars to align & lean into that fear before another year of your life goes by.

We Need to Change, together.

Changing your life is hard. Especially when that change includes feelings of anxiety or depression. Whilst I never wanted to focus this channel on 'mental health' per se, I think incorporating with peoples stories & my own battles of self improvement is that exception. I created this channel so we could grow together. Though after falling into a rut, I just felt like a fraud. That's why I've co...

I lost 10 kilos walking almost every morning, and this also changed my life in a positive way. Feel like you're needing a change in your life? Come check out my self help podcast! search overcomingwithin on Apple podcasts/Spotify
I walk 1hr 30mins about 10km and love it . I just listen to my favorite Playlist. And yes i saved a little puppy running on the road 😍
Hey man i hope you are doing well today
Jake, thank you for posting. I think i watched this video when i did my reset.
Oh wow! I’m glad you liked it. Definitely was a hard week and I slept so much 😂😂. Gotta definitely get back into the videos now that my schedule is a liiil more structured
@@overcomingwithin Hey may I email you?
Once you have a panic attack, the fear of having another one is what brings it on. So like if you say, this place is crowded & I feel overwhelmed, the panic attack can happen just by thinking of how you felt during the first attack. The fear of feeling that way again, so we tend to avoid ANY situation that may induce one. I had to force exposure therapy on myself with driving just a few blocks & making 5 minute trips from home. Then, a bit further. Now I can go about a half hour away & I'm good!
I'm checking out your podcast! How come you don't do them on youtube? Is there more exposure with the podcast? Want to know for myself, curious. Thanks!
Usually haven’t got much time to film them on UA-cam tbh! When I’ve done the podcast I’ve just woken up and recorded. Struggling to fit in time for it these days with 2 jobs along side a few issues that have immersed. But currently working on some more ideas for here :)
I JUST had my first cold shower today & I'm going to continue. I'm trying to fight my panic attacks & anxiety. It really felt good, actually, like a wake-up call.
Hell yeah! It’s really good for both. Also try wim hof breathing, that’s helped me with panic attacks also. I started with that now I do full blown hour long sessions sometimes
very proud of my hippie best friend <3
I am certainly in your father's age range! Kudos to your father for encouraging you to "go for a walk"! And, kudos to you for taking his advice! We are kindred spirits! I walk and/or ride my bike every day. I used to enjoy running/jogging. But a heart attack and bypass surgery has removed this activity from me. But, I get the same benefits as you from walking. I look forward to checking out your podcast!
I'm 69 and walk 10 km every day. Last two years 14364 km . Buy a dog and get going
"Self discipline"👌🏾
The key words,"the small things in life"👌🏾👍🏽
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Keep walking ❤
Strongly agree with you ❤
Seriously, it might *also* be a good idea to reduce the dependancy on the mobile phone. There are so many unnecessary, and sometimes stressful and/or awkward human to human connections made via this modern contraption.
A good read on this subject is iDisorder by Dr Larry Rosen 👌
the algo brought you to me. looking forward to what you create! you have a great voice for podcasts
Thankyou, a comment like this makes me want to keep it up, it’s been a busy time in the last few weeks but this’ll help me make time 🙃
I did the same. I was in such a funk. Once I started, i never stopped. In one month i walked 360 miles. Ive slowed down and do 10 miles a day, 7 days a week. When i need to, illl take a few days off. Then i feel like crap and get back at it. First couple of months were hard on my feet. Now, im just trucking on by.
Dayum that’s intense! I’m glad it helped. Mentally walking is amazing. I stopped for a while since I posted this video after dealing with a funk of my own. Started up again this week to reclaim myself
That's pretty impressive, maybe incorporate some cycling , jogging or some kind of moderate cardio into your routine .
@@michaelbarajas1544 Thanks. I was also doing calisthenics and weightlifting. I went absolutely agro mode. Now I'm on a 5k per day run kick. I've lost 15lbs and no longer have to take high blood pressure or chloresteral meds. Doc said it was the fastest health recovery he saw in his 50 years of medicine. I literally walked the toe nails off my feet.
Thanks for sharing buddy. How heavy were u before?
I was about 90kg. My weight distribution seems to only go to my stomach & boobies so I looked the same unless I had my shirt off 😅
@overcomingwithin its not that bad, bro. I wish I was around 90kg your use to be weight. I'm very heavy at 113kg now. Thanks for the reply 👍
I walk 5 miles a day and don’t feel right when I don’t!
That’s impressive 😄. I’d love to do that everyday maybe I should make that a priority
I’ve just started walking in the mornings too. It’s been great. Love your channel btw! You’ve got a new subscriber! 😬
glad to hear its been working for you. and thank you, I'm still trying to balance it into my schedule as I'm now working two jobs & have a side gig 😅
@@overcomingwithin you are a busy man haha! Have a great week ahead! 😊

Walking is the greatest exercise ever.
I also just really love reflecting & resolving things in my head on like a 6-7km walk
When you walk you look more younger more energy less anxiety fell happy no belly fat skin become good
Damn straight
YES LETS GO JAKE
Saw a comment how you had 100k subs on TikTok. Crazy to see you at less than 20 now but hope your YT is more successful than that unhealthy platform. Subbing to watch your journey. All the best.
Oh hey thanks, yeah i took most of last year off all social media and thought it’d restart here a few months ago now I’ve found a niche of self improvement. Much harder to grow but content is a lot more real. Thanks for joining!
@@overcomingwithin That’s awesome. Your content could benefit me being 25 yrs old so looking forward.
