Its not easy being a Horace Horsecollar fan...

TWEWY is one of the few games that I really took to. I loved the stylus combat, it was basically EBA / Ouendan with fighting. I wish the sequel had come out back then instead of now, I can't play the new combat format. Thank goodness for Playthroughs.

Here are some tips and tracks for folks wanting to get into OG DS TWEWY. 1. Eat food each day up to 24 bytes and keep an eye on that or manipulate the DS clock to raise your stats some more 2. Pay attention to what pins you have in your deck when you set the DS to sleep each day; you get different types of experience for battle vs. sleep, so ideally you should have separate pin decks for when you're actively playing vs. when you're letting your pins sleep. Ice Blow is an example of a pin that massively benefits from sleep points and said points are weighted more compared to battle points so just a few hours of sleep will do a huge difference. 3. Actively change the different difficulties (easy, normal, hard) as you progress through the game so you can get all the pin drops; it's worth it for expanding the amount of options you have. 4. Decrease your level for increased drop rate; level ups ONLY give you more HP; all your attack and defense comes from food and clothes 5. Set your partner to "manual" as soon as you can get comfortable and practice doing so 6. If battles are overwhelming to you at first, *focus on the Light Puck*: focus on whoever has the light puck and focus on doing damage with that character. You'll gradually warm up to the battle system. 7. You can cancel out of pin attacks using the sub-slot option, allowing you to react quickly in situations 8. The puck gives your wind-up attacks (such as Burst Rounds, Massive Hit, Vortex Saber) extra burst damage as well as give your healing pins more HP intake if you use a drink while Neku has the puck on him, adding a greater degree of risk-vs-reward if you equip some of the lower-powered drink pins with more uses on them. 9. Try giving Neku filler pins that allow you to combat enemies with no problem while paying attention to Shiki’s screen. Pyrokinesis is pretty good for this. 10. If you want to move Neku more consistently, try placing the stylus in between his legs since it makes moving him a lot more easier. The thing about OG TWEWY is that it’s a lot like riding a bike. At first, the concept will be very foreign to you and be hard to handle but if you put the time and effort to learn the mechanics, you’ll eventually get it downpacked. I also recommend checking out the sequel NEO TWEWY, which is similarly fantastic.

I actually was able to briefly play TWEWY back when it released but never finished it. Then I played KH DDD and seeing the TWEWY gang only feed the fires of curiosity in me. Thank goodness for PlayFrame's Let's Play of the game.

Im pretty sure nomura once said the only reason why they used FF characters was to fill roles they needed and that's it. After KH got so many original characters they didn't need FF characters anymore that's why KH3 had none. Or at least that's how square sees it. Instead of making new characters they just inserted FF characters to fulfill certain roles

I absolutely loved this video, while I don’t agree with all of your rankings (thanks to them and eda’s requim are my favorite episodes for example) I really loved your perspective and the way you explained your opinions. Also I am so glad finally someone agrees that the intruder is one of the best episodes of this show. While I liked the first 3 episodes episode 4 was the moment I truly became a fan. (English is not my first language and I am dyslexic af, so I hope that this is at least somewhat comprehensible)

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen most of these episodes, but it definitely says a lot that I still vividly remember the episodes in your top five (and a few more in the top ten besides). Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door is peak television and it’s a real shame that Hooty didn’t even get ONE LINE in the finale.

The Hooty episode was obviously going to be number 1 for valid reasons!

After Nomura's comment on how much he wished he could include certain newer movies, I really don't think we're getting all live action worlds. The more I think about it, the more appealing Maleficent looks though. Maleficent is the most prominent Disney movie character in Kingdom Hearts, so a heroic version of her is exactly what you'd want in an alternate worldline. The environment is good too, so it's perfect for a KH world on all fronts. Lightyear also feels perfect for this considering the Verum Rex thing, but it might be too recent.

Now I need to know someone's best version of every Looney Tunes character and character dinamic. (If you want a part of my opinion, the 2011 Looney Tunes Show contains my favorite version of Lola Bunny, and my favorite Bugs/Daffy dinamic.)

I'll put it like this: Would I put the top tier Disney TV as more likely for worlds than a Coco, a Moana, a Zootopia, a Marvel, a Star Wars? No. But would I put them as more likely for worlds than a Wish, a Strange World, a Lightyear, a Home on the Range? YES.

Interesting video! Reading the book "The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" really put into context why Disney animated films used sidekicks so often: I think the Disney artists really emphasized the interplay between caricature, exaggeration, realism, and believability. Treating animated characters as thinking beings rather than merely moving drawings, that was one of their focuses as an animation studio. And they wanted to draw more inspiration from realism to generate greater audience involvement while also utilizing the strengths of animation. Whereas other animation studios steered away from realism entirely or had very different approaches to their craft. Disney artists saw "human" and "down-to-earth characters as the sincere heart of their films, but they were also a lot harder to draw, generally less expressive, or more subtle with their emotions. So cartoony characters (like sidekicks) were often more expressive in contrast and easily communicated with the audience. They gave opportunities for the characters to have relationships that fleshed each other out. Funnily enough, a lot of the animators preferred animating the cartoony characters and hated doing the realistic ones (roles which got saddled with Milt Kahl or Marc Davis). I like how you drew the distinction between sidekick and supporting character. Whereas some sidekicks are more like satellite characters that are clearly tied to a specific character, supporting characters feel more fleshed out and independent. Relevant quotes from the book: -"Tell your story through the broad cartoon characters rather than the “straight” ones. There is no way to animate strong-enough attitudes, feelings, or expressions on realistic characters to get the communication you should have. The more real, the less latitude for clear communication. This is more easily done with the cartoon characters who can carry the story with more interest and spirit anyway. Snow White was told through the animals, the dwarfs, and the witch-not through the prince or the queen or the huntsman. They had vital roles, but their scenes were essentially situation. The girl herself was a real problem, but she was helped by always working to a sympathetic animal or a broad character. This is the old vaudeville trick of playing the pretty girl against the buffoon; it helps both characters." -"Of course, there is always a big problem in making the “real” or “straight” characters in our pictures have enough personality to carry their part of the story…The point of this is misinterpreted by many to mean that characters who have to be represented as real should be left out of feature films, that the stories should be told with broad characters who can be handled more easily. This would be a mistake, for spectators need to have someone or something they can believe in, or the picture falls apart." -"Early in the story development, these questions will be asked: “Does this character have to be straight?” “What is the role we need here?” If it is a prince or a hero or a sympathetic person who needs acceptance from the audience to make the story work, then the character must be drawn realistically."

To make the "Terra, Terra, and Terra" and "Rikku and Riku" confusion even funnier- Terra, Terra and Riku, of course mean "Earth/Land" and are used in that context, but "Terra and Rikku" are only like that because a translator thought the original would sound weird to western ears. So you have at least three thematic instances of the repeated names making sense, but two additional instances of those same names coming about by accident.

Honestly i just wanna know one thing. You mentioned Epic Mickey when talking about Horace and i just wanna know: are there other Disney characters you think have their best versions from Epic Mickey?

This is literally the thing we were afraid of back in 2002 when Kingdom Hearts 1 released...

The odd thing with Tera as a name......if properly translated from Japanese, her name SHOULD BE Tina. When they finally did the proper translation in the GBA version, we had known Tera here for over a decade. Leave the name alone lol. Crusty of the PS1...... I can, as someone who owns damn near every system (in working order) from the NES - PS5, there is still a ass-ton of appreciation for the Atari systems. I know where my PS5 comes from. Just as I know Final Fantasy XVI, or even VII Remake/Rebirth could not have come without the very first Final Fantasy on the NES. For anyone who wonders......VI has Espers, VIII has Guardian Forces, IX has Eidolons, and X has Aeons and so on. If one payed attention to the story of those games.....the summons are pivotal in the story. Summons in VII have nothing to do with the story......thus being called summons. Play Final Fantasy VIII. It is a stellar game. And the story, when understood, is epic. And spoiler......the Final Fantasy characters were put in Kingdom Hearts to remove the "kiddie game" worry. That was initially why. No one who had played Final Fantasy games was about to touch a game of Disney characters. Also cannot throw a FF storyline in a Disney product. Disney won't allow it. C'mon they made Square remove Cid smoking.......seriously.

KH2 predates crisis core by 2 years, zack also appears in the og FF7 🤣 It's still crazy to me how taste differs, FF7 & FF8 are my favs of the old games and FF9 was the worst for me. I really hated the design of the characters, they all seem like dwarfs and just look ugly. + The fights took forever to load🤣

31:26 I think Hades as god of the dead controls all the Underworlds, including the ones from other universes, being this how he summons the FFX auron (who goes back to the FFX universe after KH2 reviving as an unsent) being this right after the Yunalesca vs Auron thing. It would also explain why Donald and Goofy are looking for him in KH4 Because he can acess to Quadratum somehow.

Your confusion over Auron's situation betrays how you disregard all the Ultimanias and canon side-materials for KH. If you hadn't, you'd be aware of the focus on "world lines" a.k.a. full-on alternate universes, and would be aware that it's heavily implied that FFX is a different world line from which Auron actually hails. Also taking the attitude portrayals of the Seifer trio, Vivi, and Setzer seriously also betrays how you didn't take into account the artificial nature of the KH2 prologue since it's a fake world.

I do think that you should play the first one too because the main theme is about the battle between light and dark and even has a last minute villain twist at the end. I feel like it's the basis for the kingdom hearts plot.
