    I just got one of these and wondered where you get your newspaper. Also, would paper grocery bags work for these? The paper is a bit thicker but I have loads of bags and no newspaper. Thanks

      I wouldn’t waste your time with a jigsaw on a track, just get a circular saw which is compatible

    Who makes this tool?

  • @KaskadeHD
    @KaskadeHD 11 місяців тому

    so what, do you have to buy a new fucking guide rail every single time you buy a new blade...?

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog 11 місяців тому

      Not really as you would normally not switch to a blade that varies in thickness on the same saw. But the track works with multiple models of saws and also some routers so it is good to test it on some scrap wood before you make an important cut. The plastic strip is replaceable, so you wouldn't need a new rail; just switch the strip. Typically, you would aim for your marks with the strips, but as these strips work with several different tools, they are not accurate on the first use. TLDR: No you do not need a new rail =)

  • @richard21995
    @richard21995 Рік тому

    Good to know, if using a track saw do you have to cut a worktop from the top down to prevent break out, or does it not happen with the rubber guide?

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog 11 місяців тому

      The blade cuts from underneath, so placing the rail on the side of the marks you want to keep usually prevents tearouts on both sides. There will be tearouts on the side "not protected" by the rubber guide tho.

    When you lift the cutter off the piece and put it back on... Does it start cutting a second spiral or did you somehow lign it up with your first pass?

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog Рік тому

      If you place it down gently, it will find the old grove on its own and continue in the same spiral 😊

    Hi, I have de same drill, I see that in my drill, in the hexagonal bit without accessory installed, the bit wobbles a bit, it is not perfectly straight when turning... is this normal?. I would like to know if the same think happens in your drill. Thanks for sharing.

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog 11 місяців тому

      Putting something in the "hex-mount" tends to wobble a bit. Putting something in the drill chuck should not wobble. i.e. drills should be perfectly straight.

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog 2 роки тому

      I'm quite impatient so often I eighter turn them thin enough to dry in a couple of days or blast them in the microwave 😂 When I have an uncanny feeling about patience, I put them in a cardboard box with some of the shavings for a couple of months. Thanks for watching!

    Over-tighthening the flexiclick attachment in long term will cause its locking mechanism to be damaged. Slowly rotate the locking mechanism until you hear 4 to 5 clicks. I do own the same drill, and one of the attachment (metal chuck) accidentally detached from the drill and fell from 5 metre height onto the ground(luckily there was no one near the ladder) due to damaged locking mechanism (can't hear any clicks).

      @TheWorkshopLog 2 роки тому

      It sure will! I'm known to impress the local store clerk with my professional lingo from time to time. I guess it's something that comes with the job. Don't bother getting the "to the side thingie" and go straight for the "angle flippidy-clap".

  • @TheWorkshopLog

    If anyone know what GSR actually means let me know! It remains a mystery! 🤔

    • @haem9221
      @haem9221 2 роки тому

      "GSR": its Bosch naming code, all German: "G" indicates the "Gewerblich" line, which means the pro line for craftsman (more expensive). "P" means private "Privat" line for handyman. And "SR" stands for "Schrauber" (like power screwdriver). The number tells the torque, here 60Nm hard. Other similar devices are named GSB "Gewerblich SchlagBohrer" (= light hammer unit) and "GBH" = "Bohrhammer" (= real SDS hammer drill). By the way you don't have to loose the Flexclick to adjust the extensions, just pull it out a bit, rotate to the position you need and set it back.

    No. The answer is no, you will never have enough tools. Once you get close, you will start to upgrade your current tools. I saved up for 4 years for my table saw, but now I think I should be good there. Now maybe a new lathe…

    An awfully lot of chips with a skew that other tools could do better with no explanation as to what you are doing or why you are doing it. Some explanation of the project and your approach would have been nice.

    • @TheWorkshopLog
      @TheWorkshopLog 3 роки тому

      Valid point. I appreciate your feedback, when and if I upload again I'll keep this in mind. I did mention in the description however why I used the skew 😉 "Most of the turning could be done quickly using the continental gouge to a greater extent. But since I’m yet to master the skew chisel I decided to use it as much as I could."
