the most boring class in the history of mmorpgs, they need to fully re do this class before launch, send pet, mana bomb, spike, spike, spike, spike, spike, spike... this is your "rotation" and after doing that 1000 times you will beg for the swift release of death....
This is the type of video that Pantheon needs. Simple, straight forward, information over idle banter. Very cool, thank you!
Thanks so much! Yeah I try to keep it concise
What server you play on on EQ? I’m F2p right now. Wanting to come back. I made one on Halls of Fate
I was playing on origins a bit - I'll likely play some in DoF
@ ok
This is really helpful... just wish there wasn't math to do for four hotbars worth of spells 😭
Haha! Totally understand. It's tough in later expansions
heya bear, played with ya on eq2 you making a guild on pantheon?
I'm not really playing super intense at the moment - just trying classes and getting a feel for it, so no guild at the moment. Maybe in the future for sure.
Undine: un - Deen 😉
Nice
so.much.mana
I like my summoner, but I always want to run in and mix it up, so I usually camp and come back with my rogue, ranger, or paladin.
Yeah melee definitely is fun too!
Thanks, Great video!
Thanks for watching!
been playing summoner since the start of EA, currently level 22. Its been very good and when i discovered that pets share your stats it really made some of the stat spreads of the cloth armor make more sense. Important thing about the enraged slam and other such abilities. Its not 20% of your mana, its 20% of your base mana (taking into effect your mana as though you were unbuffed and not wearing any gear) You are right, the fire pet is generally better, that is mostly because we, as the summoner, have far more int and we can buff the pet. I can't wait to test out the air pet with more melee stats on the summoner and see if it helps. For the pet gear, you can also summon 4 pieces of each type, as each pet will keep their armor when they die or are swapped out when you get closer to 20 you'll get a tech that lets you transfer some of your agro to the primary pet (Earth, air, or fire)
Thanks for more insight! That's a good point about the base mana - makes those abilities way more mana efficient than swarm
Is the sharing stats for all or just summoner pets?
LOL I just saw Thediddler on earlier today. Are you on Veil??
Yep!
Love the summoner!!! Undine is a healer pet and cast cold nukes.
Nice nice
Thx for the info, I very much enjoy the shaman, Never played one in any MMO until Teek came out and I thought up the name buffiluffiguss, then I created a shaman and played it since. They def are a great solo class at least to lvl 13. ATM only been playing less than 10days but I can solo yellow, orange-ish? non caster mobs and even Red (like first lvl red non caster mobs. I can be back in the fight in a matter of 15 seconds or so, its pretty nice and fast. The no REAL heal is kinda tricky, I didnt realize that hurry up spell worked on more than 1 target. I thought it had to be a targeted char, now this info is great. Throw the group Hot nd boom gota group heal for 10 seconds or so. It would still be nice to have at least 1 single target heal that did like 50% min, these mobs chunk you down fast, Its no WoW thats for sure, or EQ for that matter. I was killing skeletons in Wilds End at lvl 6 and was able to solo yellow mobs np, one night time skele (yea mobs at night are worse, sometimes way worse) Sinister Feralbone, he nukes Bone Spike for 41, having only 68 hps needless to say I didnt last long. Tried him every lvl until 10 where he was light blue to me, he STILL nuked me for 48, 2x in the same fight, thankfully by then I learned how to LoS the casters and if they dont succeed casting a spell 2 or 3 times in a row they move on to the next spell in their line up. Thats just what I noticed about that specifics skele. Sorry for the long post. Also, that skele camp had great loot, I stull use hte weapon I looted at lvl 7, 5dmg 5hp 5mana the camp is around 4200 480ish, on a hill between the humanish fearlings and chevron goblins down below, Great spot for xp and loot...
Thanks for the comment. Love your experience so far.
Dont overlook CON gear. Con makes your buffs stronger. With a 20 con (+elk) my grip, mark and wis buff are almost doubled from base. Instead of the base 4 wis buff im getting 7. Wis/con are primary.
Awesome!
I am currently level 22 solo shaman and still soloing Oranges, Yellow and White cons without problems. The orange cons...you tend to have some resists so its a little annoying but easily done. I tend to stick to Yellow and some White con mobs and can typically do at least 3 yellows without resting back to back or 5 white cons without issue. (I would group for gear or raids etc I eventually am always in high end raiding guilds, but ever since EQ back at launch, have always been a solo shaman for leveling!) They have stated that we will probably get a new shaman pet every 10 levels...would be nice as the pet currently is just a place holder and seems weaker then the one I tested a few years back in one of the test phases. But I still use it as it is a small extra dot along with your melee attacks help whittle things down with the 3 dots. Yellow and Orange mobs I will use slow...the higher level slow still says -25% speed the same as first slow spell...so yeah they need to fix that! Then its just the 2 strike abilities, all 3 dots, mantle and DD spell constantly with the strikes when they are up. Keep mantle and dots up and just bomb away... Usually use ancestors rest for the mana right away after opening salvo, so it will be back up faster and you are pretty much back at full mana again after the initial unload and next DD spell.
Nice! Yeah such a good class
Where did you go for soloing after level 14 or so?
@ Pretty sure I did the snakes over in that pink tree area in AVP...from 14-16 or so...or 15-17? was doing the Roan Bears back over by the Snow there until 14-15th as well. It was before the orc camps got added so there wasn't as much choice and those snakes were constantly camped! Just tried a dark orange con mob last night and killed it! Took most all my mana because resists etc. but pulled it off without much trouble!
What stats you level up?
Most classes dont really have a complete level 20-30 kit, but somehow a few players have reached level 40. You aint gotta play hardcore, but u can ! Leveling to 20 will take u a WHILE, unless you're a super gamer i guess. Challenge is there
Awesome - yeah I figured
Cool video ! Ive been working as a Shamo for a while in Pantheon now, the Group Buffs and Group heals make them an ideal choice for expeditions into the frozen cold orc mountains of Hangore or other high level areas . As they say- Dont Go without a Shamo ! 🐺🐺
Interesting I just started my acclimation - so I'm about to go into hangore in a bit
Oooh this is a great vid, do you plan to do these on every class?
I do plan on doing them for the ones after I've gotten them high enough to feel comfortable. Just got summoner to 15 so it will be next.
Pardox has no xp regain, its the second rez that offers 25% regain.
Yep!
Current problem shamen is no lvl 20 pet. No quest, no spell drop just not in the game yet.
Yeah I wondered about that. Hope they add one
thank you so much, I learned that shaman is not for me
I was watching the Druid video from Joppa - it looks amazing!
I hope you find the right class for you!
@@bear.necessities you're amazing too
@@bear.necessities I didn't buy the game yet, I'm planning to buy it after a year or two, after they fix the crafting UI
Definitely a work-in-progress. I also enjoy soloing some of the time, so hope that I can solo at least as decently as we could in Dark Age of Camelot & Vanguard SOH back in the day (which was still a lot tougher than it was in Vanilla WoW). I remember dragging around a buff/healing 2nd character in DAoC on a second account just to make 'solo play' a lot more viable in that game.
Yeah absolutely
Do you like this game over origins?
I like them both for different reasons! Origins has an exciting year ahead and I'll definitely be playing it some as well
What game is Origins?
Now they have added the torch slot I may dip back into Pantheon.
Awesome! You can also change brightness from the Calibrate button whenever you open the game. I up my brightness a bit because the game overall felt a little too dark for me.
@@bear.necessities Now the perennial question (for me, at least): Rogue or Ranger? I like the burst damage of a traditional rogue, but I also enjoy the self-reliance of a traditional ranger (though 'Ranger down' was a frequent call during my EQ ranger days).
Ranger is more developed than rogue class atm. I’d wait a month or so to start a rogue
most excellent! I’m trying to decide between trying a shaman, paladin, or dire lord first
All great choices! Never tried Paladin, but I love the other two.
Been playing paladin. Solo is kinda slow but super survivable and basically no down time between mobs. Very strong tank in groups
Ah, the sheer, indescribable ecstasy of playing Pantheon with its charmingly minimalist action set! Truly, words fail to capture the unparalleled bliss of managing just a handful of abilities. It was like stepping into a spa after escaping the carnival of chaos that is EverQuest 2's hot bars-those absurdly bloated monstrosities crammed with more buttons than a typewriter convention. I mean, who wouldn't miss having 48 abilities that all feel like minor variations of "poke the bad guy slightly harder"? What a joy it was to spend hours agonizing over which skills to keep on your screen because you couldn't fit them all, or trying to remember what half of them even did. The freedom to actually focus on the game in Pantheon, rather than on a screen full of glowing, anxiety-inducing icons, was nothing short of revolutionary. Honestly, managing fewer abilities was like dumping a suitcase full of bricks I'd been lugging around for years. Finally, I could actually play the game instead of performing a frantic piano recital on my keyboard every time combat started. Pantheon didn’t just simplify-it liberated.
I think as I get older I enjoy this even more and more. It's more about impactful abilities and using them well instead of having a million!
Great video!
More EQ2 anything, your wealth of knowledge would be helpful for many returning players dealing with the mountains of often outdated information. Not adverse to PoE, Pantheon or Ashes content. MMO mostly player, so prefer that content.
Thanks! I have 2 more raid guides coming
Give us them class guides!
Shaman almost done!
Relevant again for origins? Does origins have hunter? Just getting a late start there myself, too late but guessing it gets hoppin' again with the expansion.
No hunters. But everything else is relevant, just may be a little different
it is basically turn based combat
I feel like it's pretty engaging combat - and each class has different resource mechanics. In most MMOs I'm not pressing 10+ buttons by lvl 10
real question is how do you have a splitpaw map /cry
lol - I think it's in EQ2 maps
Former EQ2 player here. My main was Raphaela (Lvl 55+ Fabled Fury) on The Bizaar. The character was the #5 ranked in all of EQ2 number of quests completed. Looking forward for more uploaded streams about the Origins server for 2025. Hope they add L&L non book quests back.
Agreed
I never thought I'd see the day.
This game is banging on EverQuest nostalgia, as someone who is younger and loves the way retail WoW plays, I don’t think this is for me. It just looks like something that should’ve come out in 2006.
Yeah not for everyone for sure
more pantheon stuff! keep ti up.
Thanks!
Very happy to see you doing Pantheon content. I can't believe they actually pulled this off. Really exceeded my expectations. I have about 12 hours of play time so far and I've never had this much fun in a game before. It's 10/10 for me so far even with just the bare bones.
Yeah, it's good! I enjoy it!
Glad to see you doing Pantheon content. Looking forward to more.
Thanks so much! Yeah I may do class basics videos. I've played quite a few almost to level 10.
Great video. I understand your explanations and appreciate the time you put in. If they weren't wiping at some point during alpha I would consider playing. I also do not play on beta servers for games because it ruins the fun of it. I hope the game survives financially to a full release. Have heard of rumors that before Brad passed, money was taken from Pantheon for other purposes. I have no idea what other purposes they were referring to (other game ideas, drugs, toys like boats or motorcycles, property etc?) Due to this mystery money being removed, makes me wonder if that is why the game has been in development for 10 years and had to swap to a store asset graphics engine (this is my poor guess with no information and no bias because I really want this game to succeed). Overall the details of the game in it's current state keeps reminding me of EQ2. Thanks for the video Bear Necessities.
Thanks! Yeah - I totally understand wanting to wait. There are those who have spent hours and hours even in pre alpha, and I held off til Early Access. I think there are some good bones in the game, but there is a lot that still needs to be done.
you can play a bit and have some fun now, or you can wait until release (at least three years from now, because the game is pre-pre-alpha) and have some fun then, your choice! it is impossible for them to avoid multiple wipes, there are so many exploitable unfinished things right now, as of now you are not a player you are a TESTER
EQ2 has better gfx than this. a bit pathetic for 10y development time
The environment definitely looks pretty - but the other stuff definitely needs some work.
graphics look like the game runs on SNES is the Lore and Quests and Immersion any good? This was developed for 10 years, and the UI still looks ass, but they already charge 40 bucks for it on STeam? when is this getting realeased for real?
I think the Early Access timeline is 2 years. The game has no recurring subscription cost either. The game has some good mechanical bones, but I agree, the graphics/HUD need some major rehaul.
This version of the game has really only been in development for a couple years.
Great video man.
Thanks!
I just made a new character in the first time in 15 years and I can honestly say that this game is as fun as I remembered. The Sarmak starting zone was great and the story was honestly better then I remember in a long time. It basically makes you commit warcrimes against the birdmen, and in a other quest I was harshly called out on it when I met with their ambassadors. It was unexpectedly satisfying (not the war crimes) but the game telling me that peace was beyond reach due to my own evil choice in questing. Good stuff.
Oh and great video Bear, so good that there are still a few content creators for this game.
Thanks!
Haha. Good memories.
Is there really no way to change what eq2 maps shows? I really dont want 98 billion icons on my map
I don't know of a way personally.
Good to be back after 13 years. Account is 7034 days old.
For Warden, should I focus on getting wisdom or intelligence?
Wisdom mostly - int secondary
@@bear.necessities Great, thx Bear, appreciate it!
How did you get the parse tracker on screen? Are you using darq?
Just used the built in Mini Parse from Advanced Combat Tracker.
I love EverQuest content whenever it’s posted. I’ve also loved watching Pantheon also. Play what makes you happy and hang in there! Rome wasn’t built in a day!
It is the second best ARPG I have ever played, and it is in early access. The future for the genre is bright. PoE2 hasn't quite dethroned D2 LOD as the #1 ARPG though it has that potential. You can feel the D2 blueprint in PoE2, and it feels more like a D2 game than any of the official D2 sequels/prequels.
Never played D2 much!
I've always dropped down the well and ran to Nagafen the long way, I had NO IDEA you could take the path you took. Gonna use that way now, thanks!
Heh yep!
