Good video overall, but you seem to have used some sources with an anti-Peruvian bias. Some examples: • You whitewash Bolivar’s time in Peru. You say he “wrote the Constitution of the Peruvian republic and went back to Gran Colombia, leaving Peru under a governing council led by one of Bolivar’s generals”. You omit to say that this constitution made Bolivar “Presidente Vitalicio” (“President for Life”), was rammed through, and after he left, that governing council’s job was trying to get the Peruvians to accept it, which they did NOT, which is why it only lasted around 50 days before being repealed and replaced. Bolivar was a megalomaniac Napoleon wannabe, and by the time he finally left, Peruvians hated his guts, and he remains very unpopular here, to this day. • All your maps show as fact Gran Colombian and later Ecuadorian territorial claims to the provinces of Jaen and Maynas (everything north of the Marañon and Amazon rivers) that were part of the Viceroyalty of Peru and the Republic of Peru, that they didn’t control. • Your video gives the impression that Gran Colombia won the war with Peru and kept those territories. The war ended in a stalemate, with no territorial changes whatsoever… which meant Peru retained controlled of all the aforementioned territories. • You make it seem like the war started because of La Mar’s personal ambition. Reasons for the war included that Bolivar and Gran Colombia wanted Peru to cede the aforementioned territories north of the Marañon and Amazon rivers, they wanted Peru to pay a huge amount of money for the expenses they incurred during the independence war, and they wanted Peru to forcibly conscript men and sent them to serve in the Gran Colombian army to replace those who had died or deserted during the campaigns in Peru. All of these created tensions that La Mar decided to settle through war.

The Alamo was a great battle. Spain defeated the British at Cartagena de Indias 1741, destroying 50 ships. That is why there are 335 million Spanish speakers in the Caribbean and North America. Spain defeated the British in Uruguay and Argentina 1806-07. That's why there are another 155 million Spanish speakers in southern South America. Spain blockaded the United Kingdom in 1779-82, capturing two fleets of 24 and 55 ships, which sank the London Stock Exchange. Spain gives the Spanish dollar to the USA. This is one of the reasons why the USA exists.

Brazil is artificially united. It's three different countries in one nowadays. The north (North and Northeast), middle (Middle-East and part of Souteasth), and south (South). You can identify the same level of cultural and economical difference (or more) compared to three Spanish-speaking countries next to each other. The contrast of the second third downwards of the South compared to the second third upwards of the North is astounding. The more you go down the stronger the sense of disconnection and wanting to separate grows. I am from the Northeast and live in the Northeast, but I think their feeling is justified. Our socialist gov't pushes policies that benefits the nothern areas with the wealth of the southern areas, and the latter is kept from unleashing their potential. I mean, both areas are kept from unleashing their potential, but the southern area feel that more because they are wealthy and could make things work more immediately because of the more immediate resources available.
