My channel is mainly devoted to instrument-related projects. To date, I've featured many guitar and bass setups, builds, and repair projects. I've performed some amplifier restoration and repair work as well. I occasionally do reviews, and I love digging into the history of specific instruments and gear. I dabble in woodworking, refinishing, finish repairs, fretwork, wiring, and more... but I'm not a luthier, I'm a hobbyist, and my advice is worth just about what you pay for it. :)

Assembling/Wiring a Stratocaster Loaded Pickguard: Pots, Switch, Pickups, Cloth Wiring, and Knobs
They seem to market themselves as beginner-level guitars, so good to see there's some decent value there. Thanks for the video!
You bet!
This is very clever and effective, in more ways than one. It has convinced me to go with the tried-and-true screw-in Electrosocket that I've used in some of my previous builds. Thank you for this how-to demonstration; very informative and much appreciated.
Thanks, and that was the opposite of my intention, but I’m glad it helped nonetheless.
I love this. Super useful!
Glad it was helpful!
Very cool and clear explanations. Well done !
Thanks!
You have gained a subscriber for life bcos of the awesome video. Such a simple and to the point video. And if you keep posting other things you will have my like and comment mostly always. Cheers
Thanks for the sub!
The opening lick to your videos sounds a lot like the start of 8:15 by The Guess Who. My little brother loved that song. Enjoying the guitar, lovin' it actually. Sure you'll ace this one, too.
Thanks, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
Love the color, good score
Can’t beat the price. This one goes to the high school.
Great job . Subscribed ! 🎸👍
Thank you!
Great video! My first amp was the Peavey Backstage 50. I have one arriving tomorrow for old times sake. Can’t wait to play it.
Have fun!
Excellent site
Thank you
Huge help! I went with the 4" carriage bolt as suggested and used a second 5/8 inch socket on the other side of the clip to take up the extra space between the back of the clip/washer and the two jam nuts. This positioned the jam nuts so they are visible in the control cavity when the tool is inserted to the working position for installation. Worked like a charm and made the jam nuts readily accessible for easy removal of the tool. GREAT tips!
Nice idea about the second socket!
Sorry I didn't get to respond earlier, but had a big get together last weekend and came down with an epic case of food poisoning. Just want to thank everyone for the congrats, Mike for the awesome parts donation, and especially Hack. He put together a beautiful guitar, set up perfectly, and just an all-around great player. You say you're not a luthier, but you're one "Hack" of a guitar tech. (Excuse the bad pun, please).
Thank you, and glad you’re feeling well! Love it, very punny! :)
Good job, thats a great pedal
Thanks, Mike! I may have more mods in store for it. The chorus rate is a touch slow.
i've done this before and made the obvious mistake of mixing up the paint to a consistency that seemed to conduct really well when nice and wet, only to find that when completely dry (maybe a week later!) it had absolutely zero conductivity
Interesting, probably needed more graphite.
Nice job! I just bought one. Same color. Do you happen to know the name of the color?
I’ve heard it called blue agave. Seems a bit lighter than lake placid blue.
Great walkthrough!
Thanks!
Very neat wiring job.
Thank you! Cheers!

Ok ty :)
Aw man... I was sure I commented on that video, but when you said you replied to all of them and I never got a reply on my comment, I went and looked and it's not there. That's really weird. 😢 Anyway, congrats, LT.
Sorry, Jeff! I get emails on every comment as well as notifications, and I don’t have yours, so something must have gone wrong during the submission. Don’t worry, I don’t think this will be the last giveaway.
Mine is a lp firebrand. They don't have a top. That's why they're thin. I have the original t tops but I put REO Grand BBQs in it. No top and no trim they were called a poor man's Les Paul. Made during a sales slump. I love mine.
I’ve heard many guitar store owners and employees from the time telling tales of major discounts on these mid-run due to the slump.
I got mine around late 2022 and I was really blown away at how good it was for the price and how solid it was! I weirdly liked the bolt on neck as it made the upper fret access a bit easier as there is less of the neck heel in the way! Great video as well! :)
Totally agree!
Its a good little strat really is.....not a AAA+ but yes worth it
I classify it as Stratocaster style, because it’s very different dimensionally from a Strat and doesn’t even share a pickguard. I wasn’t a fan of mine, but I’m sure there are better examples out there.
Great method. Never saw that before.
Been using it a lot lately. Wish I’d discovered it sooner!
my squire volume cuts of then on again...whats the issues?
Most likely answer is a dirty pot or faulty jack, both very common on these amps. Get some contact cleaner spray. It will come in handy in the future for your guitars as well.
Congratulations LTGRAY, this was awesome . Happy to have been a part of it 😀
Thanks again, Mike. Probably doing an HSS build for a local school soon… most of the parts are here now.
a great improvement.
Thanks, I'm happy!
that looks really good!
I appreciate it!

Nice vid. I’ve had several and the gold burst is the coolest in my opinion. That’s a good example there. Cheers!
Right on!

I've learned so much from your videos. Thank you for the detail and care you put into your content and for the generous giveaway!! Thanks Mike for contributing to this great build!!
Thanks for entering, and good luck!
I bought mine in the sunburst also.I like the finish as it reminds me of the early Strats that were nitro finished. Plays really well after a few adjustments and a a new set of Ernie Ball slinkys. A fun Strat to noodle with and well worth the price .Great for a beginner of any age .Not in a class of my 2012 American Standard Strat but still pretty nice for the price.
Couldn't agree more!
This is a pretty cool guitar. I am curious to know where the pickups came from. I know they're alnico 5 with cloth wiring, but from where?
Straight from China via EBay.
