Park Tool Digital Caliper vs Harbor Freight
Переглядів 8124 роки тому
I was considering purchasing a digital caliper as I found myself in more than one pickle trying to correctly measure the inside/outside diameters when ordering parts. I found that Harbor Freight has the exact set, without the blue with the Park logo. Be smart and save money!!

1979 GL1000 Goldwing Street Custom

Here is a video of my modified 1979 GL1000. I mis-spoke about the front fender. It is from the earliest Sabre 750's, not a CB900 Custom. Since I made this video, I have found a mint condition 78 gauge pod, so that little detail is now rectified.
Excellent
When I was in my 20's I had a bike just like that but blue. I bought it cheap as it wasn't running. I set the valve clearance, set the timing because it was way off, cleaned the carbs and she ran like a well oiled machine. It had a rear rack that I would bunjie my lunch cooler onto and off to work I would go. I rode that bike everywhere. I loved the simplicity of it. Something that seems lost with today's machines.
Beautiful bike good job ❤
@@loki-em9mw Thank you, Sir!

Very tasteful and neat job you’ve done there. Like the fact that you’ve not gone too far, making the bike into a cafe racer. It’s still clearly a Gold Wing...
Thanks for the kind words. That was exactly my goal, and it was a fun build.
What do you use to clean the back panel to get it looking like new?
Very nice bike, greetings from germany 👍
Excellent tip, thank you. Only problem - it is sold out everywhere I look!
Hey 8months ago whats up lol Any metal cleaning cloth or polish should have the same effect. He might of just had some of that on hand or come across it working perfectly for the task. Grab some easy to find Never Dull, it’s truly great stuff & super easy to use. It’s basically a bunch of cloth fibers soaked in a polish, so you just rip a little pc. off & go to work on anything metal. Seconds later you’ll see its effect! I haven’t found a metal surfaces yet it can’t clean, polish & bring right back to life 😄

Nice job my fellow GL enthusiast. I'm in the process of converting my 82 GL1100 to be a street bike similar to yours.
What about speaker terminals
Pipe cleaner wet with DeOxit.
This is a great idea and often overlooked, even by restorers. I used Never Dull, another automotive product. Excellent results!
Genius alert. 👊🏻 thanks man!
Good idea, but what about the smaller holes for the live connection?
DeOxit and pipe cleaner.
@@SinnerSince1962which Deoxit? D5 or F5?

Hey we’re did u find that seat at
Corbin product.
Well I'll be a son of a gun. Why didn't I think of that. Cheers for the tip.
It is amazing awesome job I found a 1977 and I'm starting fixing it up
Thank you! 👍
Thanks for sharing your ideas and presentation us your very good work. This Goldwing is now a beauty. I very like it.
This would have to be the nicest example of a goldwing I've ever seen. Must give you happy flutters everytime you ride it.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MOTORCYCLE THIS 1979 HONDA GOLDWING. A GREAT AND SPORTY MACHINE !!! I LOVE THIS 👍👍👍❤❤❤
Ive seen a lot of GoldWing videos on here and this is easily my favorite. You made several subtle changes that fit together and make this a very attractive and useful bike. I’ll probably use a few of your ideas when I put my ‘75 GL back on the road. Thanks for a well produced and informative video.
Thanks, Lee. It was a super fun project.
Stylish and functional. Well done. I’m not a fan of butchered bikes.
Thank you Peter! I’m not a fan of butchered bikes either!
Love the way it turned out, that seat suits it so well.
Thanks a lot! And when I say "thanks a lot", I mean to say "thanks $46 and then some"!
Searching for a cool temp sensor for a 1981 goldwing 1100 do you know where I can get one of those at its OAM parked I like your bike it's nice looks good looks like a Sportster no rider
That looks lovely
When you're ready to move on from this bike pls let me know. I will buy it
Love what you did, your hardwork shows. Looks beautiful and sounds amazing. I will be buying a 1979 Gl 1000. Can you please let me know where to find original fenders and other things. Thank you
Great job. Bike looks amazing
Great tip, neat trick
looks great
Thanks, Tom!
Where did you get that seat? Will it fit on a gl1100?
The seat came from Corbin. As mentioned, it was already on the bike when I purchased it. I seriously doubt it would fit on the 1100.
Would this prevent a channel from working? My SX1280 the right channel on the adaptor doesn’t seems to want to register on my digital EQ. Sounds comes out the channel but no activity on the spectrum analyzer. Moving the EQ to the pre amp and both channels display on the EQ.
Great Eye & Nicely Done! Love 2 see you take us for a Ride!? Thanks for the Eye*Candy along with Well Spoken walk threw! ✌💖 🙏4 🇺🇸
Oh that's really smart!! Thanks so much for the tip! I purchased RCA dust caps for the jacks I am not using and wanted to clean them before I put the caps on them. Thanks So Much!! :-D
Very Nicely and tastefully modified
It looks like the big brother to the GB500 single!
I want to duplicate that bike exactly. It is perfect!
I take that back, it's perfect just the way it is!
I'm very impressed! That is an amazing look! Some polished aluminum accents on the engine and it would pop even more than it does now. Fantastic!!
Great job.
The C3 was the best looking Shadow Honda ever made. Very nice.
