How many do I have to come here ? I know you are watching.. among others... speaking to the Symbol that is being represented here ... not the actor or tv show itself...
2:01 I like that little perspective zoom. They bring the camera in closer to him while at the same time expanding the field of view.
I was going to school full time and working part time when this series was on the air. This show was always something that I looked forward to as a break from the school and work.
BELTA LOWDAS RISE UP
You know ya done eft up, son, when even the *doctor* agrees that they need to stand up and fight against you!
I love the play of Ivanova. Claudia Christine just speaks one sentence. But her voice demonstrates perfectly how Ivanova is caugth between beeing afraid and having this raging rigthous anger in her.
ivanova is always right. one should always listen to ivanova, ivanova is God.
i would pay for an entire show of these two talking about movies
"Bro why do care about movies so much." Me:
ISN going dark was surprisingly chilling to watch.
Ill still understand how Sheridan's wife supported this monster. Shes basically a Nazi.
Delenn was chaotic good, which is why the Shadows choose to try to persuade her... Versus the Vorlons trying to persuade Sheridan...
G'kar. At first the obvious villain but by the end he was the soul of the show. Incredible acting and incredible writing.
Mary Stuart Masterson is my future wife. I’d really appreciate it if you folks could give us our privacy. I plan to contact her next week for the first time and I really don’t want you idiots to ruin the surprise.
Chris finally meet his real dad
Right there at 2:10 you can see the moment when the character Captain Sheridan becomes President Sheridan of the Interstellar Alliance.
"I was the chosen of Dukat to replace him, I held him when he died, his blood is on my hands, his spirit in my eyes, his word on my lips, you will step aside in his name and mine, or in Valen's name I will tear this ship apart with my bare hands until I find them, move aside"
What's really cool is that this is exactly the middle episode of the series. It's also the key tipping point in the entire story arc.
Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God.
We needed a Capt. Hiroshi series.
Gee, sounds like America
Love this show! This scene is so powerful, it just crackles like a thunder and lightning storm!
Is the video guy the voice of Bob Belcher?
When you're back is against the wall what other choice do you have but to Fight!
Oh we are gonna have ants 🐜 haha
No matter the cost (Optimus Prime) ua-cam.com/video/KKb_93r41zw/v-deo.html
Hou is the actor of carl
Love B5, just finished rewatching it in fact (or at least the first 4 seasons). It just occurs to me however that B5, from that point forward, is a military dictatorship. I don't recall any attempt at creating a civilian government. Maybe Mr. Garibaldi wasn't that off base. (The reimagined Battlestar Galactica did a better job of this, with a civilian government from the very beginning butting heads with the ranking military officer).
Garibaldi does have a point about the situation. That’s why this show was so great; it dealt well with the nuances of these events while maintaining a moral center.
Never knew that the major from B4 had a twin brother, lol
BABYLON 5 WAS A SHOW THAT WAt 10 time better then startrek , starwar, all the rest of the sci fi show put together and still cant believe they never try a reboot or at lease remaster and upgrade the CGI battles
With the current election cycle I feel like this is the US right now.
The council of the world is better start putting their act together before it's fucking too late
Babylon 5 was a masterclass in pretentious, turgid dialogue. Awful stuff, it really was.
clark = biden ;)
2024 here. Babylon 5 is still one of the best written shows ever, not just Science fiction but any dramatic presentation.😎👍👍
Best SiFi series ever made in my way of thinking. The special effects were superb.
I got your back even with my gimpy leg
fight iI got your back fight
01:18-- DDay from Animal House.
Poor meg
The pivotal episode in the series ongoing story.
Captain Braxton seems to be fiddling with the time line once again.
Isn’t this the VA for bobs burgers?
Yeah and Archer
is this red letter media?
No because this is funny
Love this ISN scene with the one reporter trying to get the truth out to the last minute…
Superb writing and acting for both reporters! This episode won the prestigious Hugo Award, and the entire series won I think a Saturn Award. (The lady's reaction to the debris falling wasn't entirely acting, because it wasn't supposed to fall so close to them.)
All roads lead to Delenn.
To be honest, I used to despise the warrior caste. Rewatching this scene justified my despise.
"President Clark has violated the Earth Alliance Constitution, by dissolving the Senate, declaring Marital law and personally ordering the bombing of civilian targets on the Mars Colony, he is personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people"
The doctor should have said: "I'm a doctor, fighting isn't my strong suit, *sigh*. Someone will have to teach me."
We fight. We win. If I can... I'll die in that service.
Putin is bluffing to a degree. China and Russia still have tooth but they know it's not enough. If we all go blow-to-blow and mirale is never an issue, there is no real winner, they know they cannit overcome. So they are banking on authoritarian will. China's political and civic body does not really want endless war. Russia and their inner circle are more ambivalent about it. In the grand press, assuming western morale holds firm continuously, China's resolve breaks, and the army needs to consolidate internally by purging the soul of their own nation and leaving beind nothong but tail. That opening would be the weakness that ultimately is the decisive opportunity for the west. Russia perhaps panics and we get all out nuclear war. But we have nothing to rush over imo. If we can consolidate a firm defence and play their rhetorical gamble what happens is they have to announce the onus for a deeper invasion. Each step we don't want a fool-hardy offencive, we want to keep trapping them in grinding offencives. They'll waste too much in their offences as we keep building our strength. We probably need better intel on their military industry. Try to counter-stock. So when they decide they need to do some kind of emergency blitz to overcome their deep losses, we're ready with some might counter push. That might lead to the breaking point mentioned earlier.
There is a possibility here that Russia and China cut their losses rather than accept nuclear extinction. I think Ukraine is the only one who needs to ask themselves what they think (some) of their lands should cost us all in blood. For it's we all who will be dying for them in that scenario. I feel intuitively like it's worth it to fight for them. But... It's another thing to have us all on their conscience. The question they need to ask is if we'd sacrifice ourselves for their freedom, what would their sacrifice for us? Not a payment, that's not what I mean. What I mean is: if the roles werw reversed, or, what hurt would their suffer to protect us? In a true emergency, what would they give up? And at the bottom of that moral calculus is the answer of not whether or not we'll win, but rather, whether or not Ukraine thinks we should pay our collective cost to win. And... What might we lose in the future if we don't? If Russia truly lacks the might to take Europe then they cannot take Ukraine if we don't want them to. If they can take Ukraine despite us thnn it's a lie to suggest they can't take Europe, ya ken? I don't by Russia's act. Putin has a ballsy disposition - and I buy that he'd say confidently "we shall crush you" with naught but two old AK's in the basement. He'd feel it too.
