My 100-Hour Experiment with COINS Changed Everything
In today’s exciting blacksmithing adventure, I take on a unique challenge-creating a Damascus knife from car engine coins! 🔥 If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you forge a knife from unusual materials, this is the video for you. Using the intricate process of forging and folding steel, I transform these car engine coins into a stunning, sharp Damascus blade that’s both durable and beautiful.
Damascus steel has long been known for its strength, sharpness, and distinctive patterned finish. In this video, I explore how to make Damascus steel from scratch by carefully folding the metal and layering it, creating an incredible visual pattern that’s both functional and artistic. Watch as I demonstrate the forging process step-by-step, including how I handle the heat, shape the steel, and grind the blade to razor-sharp perfection.
If you’re into knife-making or just want to see a unique blacksmithing process in action, don’t miss this! I share all the techniques used to craft this high-quality Damascus knife, from handling the car engine coins as raw material to the final heat treatment that makes the blade truly sharp.
What You’ll Learn:
How to forge a Damascus knife from unconventional materials
The secret behind making a razor-sharp Damascus steel blade
Tips and tricks for blacksmithing and knife-making
Heat treatment techniques to achieve an edge that can cut through anything
I’ve also included a detailed look at the steps involved in the heat and forge process, which is crucial to forming the Damascus pattern and ensuring your knife holds an edge. This is a true test of blacksmithing skills, and I’m excited to share the results with you!

    Pomysł fantastyczny. Ale jak dla mnie ( może się nie znam ) to kształt noża jest po prostu brzydki i wykończenie też. Olej tutaj nie pomoże.

    Damasco é melhor ou aço de Solingen :)

    • @masterknives555
      @masterknives555 9 годин тому

      Obrigado pela pergunta! 😊 A escolha entre aço Damasco e aço de Solingen depende muito do propósito e do que você valoriza em uma lâmina: - **Aço Damasco**: É conhecido por sua beleza única devido aos padrões ondulados. Além disso, combina camadas de diferentes tipos de aço, resultando em uma boa mistura de durabilidade e capacidade de corte. Ideal para quem busca estética e funcionalidade. - **Aço de Solingen**: Produzido em Solingen, Alemanha, é famoso por sua pureza e qualidade excepcional. É frequentemente usado em facas de alta performance e é muito confiável para lâminas de precisão. Se você prefere algo com estilo artístico, o Damasco é ótimo. Para uma lâmina altamente prática e durável, o aço de Solingen é uma excelente escolha. 🔪✨

    Зачем Вы испортили неплохой сплав корпуса подшипника нагревом? Еще Вы также скорее всего испортили его ковкой. Он имел отличную структуру после горячей раскатки и закалки с высоким отпуском. Купите отрез полосы от листа хорошего сплава и дальше только уже резанием. Поверхность полученного изделия подвергнуть азотированию.

      Il est possible de décarburer n'importe quel acier, et aussi de le brûler si le forgeage n'est pas maîtrisé. Mais ce n'est pas un problème de forger un acier si on maîtrise bien ce procédé. La majorité des roulement de grande marque sont fabriqués en acier de haute qualité: 100Cr6, 52100 ou 1.3505 suivant la norme. Il suffit de faire un test de trempe sur un petit morceau pour s'assurer qu'il ne s'agisse pas d'un acier de cémentation. Le seul problème avec l'utilisation de roulements usagés pour fabriquer un couteau avec, c'est que l'acier peut être fatigué, il peut donc y avoir des micro-fissures sur une épaisseur d'environs 0.5 mm sur les pistes des bagues.
