    🤔 SAFETY FIRST! The VERY first thing you hook up to the Battery Pos Post is the Mains/Catastrophe Fuse or Breaker, then the load carrying wire or switch. Should ANYTHING short out, the wire connected at the battery NEEDS to be Fuse protected AT the battery. Every circuit has to be fused separately after that. The Neg wire connected to the battery needs to be connected to the other battery to BALANCE the two batteries as one big battery. Your set up makes it a Master-Slave arrangement and the Slave battery will never get to full charge and will die before the Master! The Battery wire from the Solar charge controller needs to run to the battery through its own breaker to keep the batteries topped up if the Main switch was off.

      I’m pretty sure you’re paying for the accessibility with out the reliance on municipal no? Paying for municipal is cheaper in the view that it also doesn’t care what is in your drinking water.. the “fortune” for peace of mind still is not as costly as a never ending cost of uncertain water sanitation and accessibility for feasible costs? In a disaster this man in good health and circumstances can have access to water regardless of a municipal shortcomings no? That’s the cost basis I feel for rain harvesting is complete understanding of the system. Not being reliant not to mention the money you save ei: more water for house use and garden use resulting in more food and energy saving no? The only cost truly is ingenuity and determination. This is scarce in many so I do understand how something simple like this can seem like non solution but again the solution is Personal sanitary access to water without control no? Thanks for any insight just imo I’ll have a never ending water bill(and get whatever they provide regardless of what I pay)while this has an end point of cost like the guy said after 3 years it, for him, paid for itself.

      That is the beauty of these-you are correct for conventional net metering, but these are simple devices that you plug into an outlet like any other appliance in your home, and DO NOT require an agreement with the power company!

      @@ecohabs4earth trust me smart meters can sense any back current when they do your electric company will be out to warn you to stop back feeding the grid ....your unit looks like a standard grid tie invertor with no provisions for current consumption ....so it doesn't know if it is powerig your device or back feeding the grid ....if your backfeeding the grid without an aggrement your breaking the law and subject to fines and imprisionment if someone were to get hurt. You would have to show me the the circuit or feature that does this because I know of nothing that can do this without a current probe

    Other than the way you parralled your batteries ,its an easy set up. The parallel wiring is wrong, works but wrong. You should of had a positive coming from one batter but the negative coming from opposite battery. They will not charge equally with that wired configuration you have there. you will kill the first battery a lot sooner.

    Hi, we're on land in Levy County. Apparently we're not allowed to live in our camper. What do we need to know about how to live off grid here that the County isn't gonna tell us?

    • @ecohabs4earth
      @ecohabs4earth 7 місяців тому

      Good day and thank you for your question! Every county is different - we found out that working directly with the county engineers is the best way to find out exactly what is permitted and help them understand what you want to do. Typically solar is permitted but they do not know much about rainwater harvesting and grey water processing. This is an opportunity to educate them for the wave of the future!
