Hi everyone!! I’m Tom an expat from Louisiana in the USA and Har is a Filipina from Ayungon on the island of Negros Oriental in the Philippines!! We currently are in the process of building our dream home on our land in Valencia here on Negros Oriental island here in the Philippines 🇵🇭
We began our channel to share our travels and adventures and to keep a sort of running diary so we and our families would be able to look back and enjoy the memories in the years to come. Har and I look forward to sharing our travels and adventures!!!

Hi everyone and thank you for coming back for another house project update here at our Dream Home !! The pool is looking better each day and Har is still adding beautiful plants to the yard !! Our Solar is now officially started with the delivery and installation of the solar panels on the roof !! It will be a 12.5kw inverter, 18 solar panels and a 10kw battery with the ability to expand so it'...

We had a typhoon type rain which showed us we needed to add some extra drains from the upper deck so the Orange Kite Group got right on it and should solve the issue if and when we get another storm !! Hi everyone we finally were able to move into our new home here in Valencia Negros Oriental Philippines !! It has been a long sometimes stressful journey but we could not be happier with our house !! We still have a lot to do on the outside with the pool, yard, gates, security cameras, solar system...all will be here on the channel in the days and weeks to come so stick around and keep watching !!

Hi everyone and welcome back here for another update video on our house build in Valencia, Negros Oriental, Philippines !! Major hurtle as we now have Electric Power !!!! And as a foreigner I am informed that there is a filipino custom / superstition that you can not move into a new home unless the day ends in an 8....so guess what ?? We are planning on moving in on Sunday the 18th to make sure...

Nice looking lots... I wonder if there is any additional risk of landslide on the backside along the valley?
@@OneMansParadise I don’t think so because your not on the mountain side however I would not build too close to the ravine and would incorporate a retaining wall if mine ! Thanks for watching !!

@@colinbrown7487 The ravine only runs behind 2 of the 3 lots and not thru any of them. It’s just a natural riverbed and other than being a long fall if you got too close it will provide a barrier between you and the mountain water run off during rainy season. A rear fence on the property line would prevent any accidents !

Hi do you know how I can pay for starlink services they say you need a philippines credit card for payments.
@@bwilliam6827 who said that ? I just put in my information with my USA card and Philippines address for location. Starlink sent it to me and as soon as I activated they began charging.

Hi my name is Louie I live in Canada I've had salt water hot tub for about 10 years excellent system, what you have to realize is each time you have rain and your lower your pool to skimmer height your losing salt and you have to add salt occasionally but as long as your salt water generator shows green you are okay so every time you empty or lower the water from your rain storms you are losing salt so you do have to add occasionally so your salt water meter could be correct right now at 28,000 parts per million so you might be a little low on salt because you have to lower your water because of your rain but overall your system is working excellent
@@louisquirouette4894 Hi Louis and thank you for responding with your knowledge and expertise!! We have had a lot of rain and have back flushed the pool so that makes sense. I was thinking the salt doesn’t evaporate with the water so the same amounts should remain but I didn’t think about loss due to drain down during storms here in the Philippines!! You still end up with chlorine.
Yes Jeff we still have chlorine as the end product in our pool however it is in a much milder less concentrated form! No toxic fumes , red itchy skin, burning eyes or possible mishaps in storage of raw chemicals!! We feel this is the best way to go for us ! Thanks for watching and commenting!!

@@amowatt01 old rooster farm not in operation anymore! Just a few caretakers roosters and some of the workers at Paul’s build have roosters but they don’t bother us at all ! Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Go down to the sea and check the salinity there it should be around 35 there if not close to a freshwater outlet.

Always of interest guys. 😀The pool looks fine, it is clear, doesn't taste or burn. I think the downpours (volume of rainwater) affects your low reading by diluting it a little Tom. Perhaps that's why your reading is slightly off. I've just 'dosed' ours up and put the cover over it ahead of our journey back to the Philippines. 👍

Out of curiosity, why did you choose to have a saltwater pool?
@@bostonfilipino I don’t like messing with or storing pure chlorine (I have done that before) and the fact that salt when changed to chlorine is so much milder on skin and eyes! I really think it’s a better way to go and easier and safer to maintain!!

Don't know why, but having trouble getting my Star Link .. already paid, but .... supposed to be delivered by Airspeed .. not good.

@@am-fil it took about 45 minutes however my computer is so cluttered with stuff it should speed up once I clear up space lol. A lot faster than the hours it was taking on our old wifi ! Thanks for watching and commenting !!
