Hello everyone! Seriously, there should be a criminal penalty for Iron Maiden every time they do not perform this track live. What a headbanger! I absolutely love the part where the fans join Steve on stage to sing along. This video was quite a headache to create-so much going on, especially with Adrian's parts, as always. Somewhere in Time features several synth parts, which Adrian performed using a guitar synth (a Roland, I think). And those two killer solos! I couldn't leave out the "ooohs" in the interlude, so I included them with MIDI samples. Not quite as thrilling as the original, but it's there. Enjoy the lesson! 🤘 😎🤘

Hey everyone! First of all, happy New Year! This is the first video for the new year, and it's been a nightmare to create. I had been looking forward to tabbing this one for a long time, and to be honest, I was very skeptical about the main riff. But I think I've figured out what's going on. Adrian plays the core riff here-you can hear it clearly in the song's intro. Now, what's interesting with Adrian's playing here is that, although the melody of the riff is clear, he also lightly hits the adjacent strings, giving that raspy sound. I've indicated these notes as ghost notes, in parentheses. You don't need to play them as actual notes-just lightly hit the strings with your pick to make them ring. Secondly, Adrian's rhythm feel leans a bit on the descending notes of the melody, giving an overall dancing character-oh, and these notes are tapped with the left hand. And then... comes Dave with Steve, playing a steadier version of the riff but with opposite gallops! Dave is playing a reverse gallop here. Absolute mayhem! Brilliant! Anyway, this riff can't be fully captured with just one guitar-it will never sound the same. So, good luck to anyone who tries to learn the song! LoL As always, enjoy the lesson! 🤘 😎🤘
