Allpowers S2000 power bank review after 12 months
Your setup is like mine. I did the same thing with 25 and 27. An Evernew makes coffee on day trips, but I’d stay with Trangia if I did it again. I’m new. It looks like you have some videos I need to see- vegan camp food, baking, etc.
@@dwightjones3305 Thanks for the comment. I sometimes use a trangia burner in the evernew stand as I find the twin rows of flames of the evernew a bit too aggressive at times. Also I'll be trying the other flavours of vegan food on an upcoming trip.
I use the GSI anodised aluminium kettle almost identical dimensions and it goes nicely with the hard anodised wind shield. I have the hard anodised pots but use the Duassol frying pan. One accessory I would recommend is the pot lid, nice to be able to keep things warmer for longer and keep insects out of one’s cooking (although there aren’t many this year) probably saves a bit of fuel as well. The Billy pot is great for spaghetti/linguine where the regular pots are too small. Pot stand very useful if using anything other than Trangia pots, I mainly use for it when I want to make Turkish/Greek coffee in my cezve/Briki.
@@hypo345Thanks I'll check out the pot lid. I was thinking of using the trangia plate but that sounds like a better option.
Just found your channel Mate 👍 Loving the videos so much, i have just subscribed 😊
@@aabbushcraft Thanks that means a lot. Hopefully they will only get better as I gain experience. There should be some motorbike travel and woodland ones coming soon.
@@DubberDabbles don’t worry Mate, your videos are excellent 👍 would love to see some overnights with your kit 😉 just trolling though the backlog of your videos 🤗 keep it up.
@@aabbushcraft That's my plan in the near future. We spend a lot of time camping on our land mainly in the bell tent though. My plan was to mix it up and do a few videos.
You would have more control with the gas burner. Adding the optional thermometer is helpful too. Thank you for sharing 👍
@@Magoo652 That's exactly the set up I used on the trangia 25 in the real world. I also use the silicon mould and baking grill. It's a really useful bit of kit, but too bulky unless car camping.
Great video on the Evernew DX Ti stove & burner. I thought about getting them but had trouble finding them here in Australia. You answered the questions I had about it. I like the chopping board idea & double use is good. Thank you for sharing this informative video 👍
@@Magoo652 glad it was of some use. It is my go to piece of kit when travelling light.
The mess tins pack better in saddlebags than my Trangia 27, so that's a familiar set-up. I used a hexamine solid fuel stove here in Australia. The mess tins sit well on the Trangia Triangle these days with the added option of the Trangia gas burner for fire ban periods. Thank you for sharing👍
@@Magoo652 yeah I'm off on a trip shortly and considered taking them instead of my lightweight set up as seen in one of my other videos.
I have the 27 series in Duossal with the billy pot in UL aluminium. I have the gas burner for use during fire bans. Recently added 2 Snow Peak Titanium plates that nest upside down on the frypan. Fit the strap when not taking the billy pot, remove the strap to nest in the billy pot. The billy pot adds capacity when needed. Thank you for sharing 👍
@@Magoo652 Thanks for the comment. I love that type of set up.
Love the hopeful dog in there background.
Yeah, they are ever hopeful.
I'll have to give that a try. Looks tasty.
It really was. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours.
I was distracted by the fierce dogfight at at the 7:30 mark.
@@USMCTexian yeah they always play like that. You should see some of the outtakes. They manage to find a way into most of my videos. Thanks for the comment.
@@DubberDabbles You piqued my interest with the topic of the video, but the dogs' antics will most assuredly bring me back.
@@USMCTexian I've had a few people comment on the dogs. They are all 3 rescue cases who had a bad life previously and came with a lot of issues.
What model is the frying pan? Thanks for the review!
@@richardowen4616 This is the Amazon link in the UK. I have checked though and it is currently unavailable. I'm sure there will be similar items out there though. It is a good pan though, if a little difficult to clean. amzn.eu/d/hv60e8Z
Nice stand. Havent seen any like that for a while. I have a weakness for stoves and I dont use them all but some get used more than others.
Yeah a real blast from the past when I dug that out.
Nice and light tent at just over a kilo. I've always liked the look of the minipeak. I usually prefer pitching fly first and then hanging the inner on my tents. Must admit I use the others less and less since I got an xmid a couple of years ago. Im not showing anyone the other cupboard with the other tents etc😂 Complete mess. Going to clear it out as well as it is full of stuff I havent used for years.
@@BrokenBackMountains yeah a good little tent, but I do less hill walking these days so weight is less of an issue. I firmly believe that there is no one perfect tent just the right tent for the situation. That's my excuse anyway.
@@DubberDabblesAs for midges. I prefer going outside the midge season though I do sometimes and have to resort to a midge net and being stuck inside the tent. I hate them.😂
@@BrokenBackMountains I used to use Avon skin so soft and it was ok but nothing really worked 100%. I've been to a lot of foreign places but nothing is as annoying as the Scottish midge.
Thanks. A concise and helpful explanation. Don't apologise for the dogs. They add to the video😂
Glad it was helpful!
Yum!
@@BrokenBackMountains yes it was very nice
Just subscribed, is the gas burner a go system that’s what I have
I'll have to check which one it is as I have 3 and I'm not sure which one I used. I think though it was just a cheap chippy off of Amazon rather than my original trangia one. Thanks for the subscription.
@@DubberDabbles go system one fits my Trangia 27,was trying to find out if fits triangle before buying
@@harrykennedy9778 it is the cheap generic copy one I got from Amazon. It is however a direct copy of the original trangia one. I understand that the new triangles have a different insert from the one on my video as well. Having googled the go system one though, I would suggest it would fit.
@@DubberDabbles thank you sir 👍
Any kind of fumes bouncing back down on my food is a no go for me, gas or meths
@@OJ4HIRE I get it with meths and I kinda knew it would be an issue but on the gas the food looked very clean with no residual taste. I get where you are coming from though.
@@OJ4HIRE A lot of people use gas ovens.
@@BrokenBackMountains true I never thought of it like that.
@@DubberDabbles I wouldn't like to bake on meths or bio ethanol though.
Great piece of kit. Will the omnia fit on a trangia 27?
@@BrokenBackMountains I'm not sure I'll check for you when I'm next off work. Off the top of my head I would say yes though but cannot be sure without that physical check.
@@DubberDabbles Thanks for that. No rush.
I've put up a short video showing the Omnia oven on a 27 and it fits fine.
@@DubberDabblesGreat thanks. I'll check it out.
An omnia is something I have always meant to buy.
They add a level of versatility to camp cooking that is hard to match unless you are using a Dutch oven.
That must be a rare sight. Such a privilege to be able to see it
@@AndreaJones-b2n yeah very rare
Very nice kit my man, got a few great ideas from ya thanks for sharing
@@OJ4HIRE your welcome and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Amazing sight
@@AndreaJones-b2n Yeah a true natural wonder.
I have this tent and use it for solo cycle tours. Recently on a tour from Thurso to Inverness. It got lots of positive comments from other campers. My only gripes would be: venting has 2 issues, there's not quite enough of it as the tent outer reaches the ground so you are reliant on the 3 small vents and the top of the door if it's not raining alot. Also the vents could do with noseeum mesh, as that's where the midges find their way in. Sure deodorant kills them. Could do with that door on the other side that the 2/3 person versions have. Positives, those standard pegs are great in tough ground but you need a hammer or stone. I usually carry wider pegs too for softer ground. It's quick to put up and easy to put away. The storage bag is great with the top opening. I was using a waterproof jacket last time as a partial groundsheet in that uncovered area. Learnt on the last trip to leave items inside my panniers when stored on the red flooring. Woke up one morning to lots of water there, no idea if it was condensation running down or leaks from constant rain. I wouldn't take down items with me when using this tent. All in all a good tent that could do with better venting. MSR are no longer producing them and what they offer now only really offers shorter poles when packed versions of their other tents.
@@seawolfkills I've never experienced the water in the vestibule issue, but totally agree with you about the venting. I didn't realise they were no longer available as I saw some for sale on the web maybe old stock. So much for me upgrading to the 2 man version. I guess they never got popular.
@@DubberDabbles they are probably a bit big when packed for the bikepacking mob. I travel fully loaded with 4 panniers, tent and chair go on top between the bags.
@@seawolfkills weight can be an issue but comfort is just as important within reason. I carry a helinox style chair even when backpacking as a good rest is important for the next day. I used the luxe minipeak prior to this tent which is considerably lighter at a smidge over 1kg but a little short in the sleeping area for me.
Can you provide a link for the kettle that you got?
GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Steel Kettle amzn.eu/d/0coXHg8p I hope that works.
thanks 👍
@@DubberDabblesthx, I was curious as well. I aim to put together this exact kit for myself. Excellent vid✌🏻
@@lulzmusic believe it or not I have modified it slightly since the video with what I think are some minor improvements.
@@DubberDabbles I just found your channel and subscribed recently. I will certainly watch more of your videos, and consider your advice and recommendations. ✌🏻
Do you know the weight and is this the only version available
I believe it is around 20kg and there is a newer version on sale now. It doesn't have the front suspension now though I believe.
I got a non trangia gas burner and it melted the upper windshield on my 25. It was too powerful. Bit annoying as we were on a 10 day walk😂 The new triangle version has a revised burner ring and the Trangia webshop sell it as a spare... Anyway. The new ring also fits on the pan support lugs so you can use a smaller pot or mug.
That's good to know. I feel a visit to the website coming soon.
I only buy stuff for the stickers 😂
I'll check out your channel. We seem to have a shared interest in trangia and free stickers.
Nice set up. Trangia is addictive 😂 I have the 25 and the billy for that. Good idea to bung the triangle in as well. A lot of people forget about the plate and its multiple uses. I tend to use my 25 for car camping theese days but sometimes I take backpacking it with just the kettle. As an aside, your lab is the spit of my old and sadly missed boy. Anyway, thanks for feeding my trangia addiction. Subbed and a big thumbs up.
Thanks for the comment. You're right about them being addictive. I have all 3 versions of the 25 as well as lots of other stuff.
The lab is a rescue and came with real aggression issues if you can believe that.
I can. Rescues often have history that can do that. Ours came with a house we were renting. He was a good lad but had been left to his own devices for a year before we took him. He had multiple strokes a couple of months before lockdown. He would have enjoyed is all being home. We had had him for 13 years. We have a wee rescue jack/dachshund cross at the moment. She was very attached to the lab.
Arlo (that's his name) drew blood on me 6 times in the first 2 weeks. The rescue couldn't get him out of the van for 24 hrs when he was taken in. Patience, love and time and he is really progressing.
@@DubberDabblesAye. They are strong dogs and it takes a lot to make a lab aggressive like that. He must have been through a bit. Good to see him in a good home with people who spend the time for him👍
Love the dogs. Looks like a good tent as well.
Yeah the dogs can be a handful but lovable as well. The tent has been really good for my use case.
That's a comprehensive set up you've got there.
Thanks it works really well for us.
They are well trained.
Nothing I did I can assure you.
Nice piece of kit
Yeah I'm impressed with it
Nice simple idea. I will probably pinch it.
Please do! It's easy.
I'll have to try that drink you mentioned.
