Great walkthrough!
So good!
Just bought one and tried powering it up via V mount but doesn't work , does it only works with external battery like you used?
I have a sony a7iv I can use it?
Hello friends how does it look with interference or smells. at all has interference or odors when cooler on is special with microphones. When recording video, you can tell that this device is on? I would be grateful for your reply.
Gaming phone cooler idea ?? 💡
Appreciate the review. Ordered mine a few weeks ago from China directly. My R6 overheats in about 35-40 mins when using 4k 24p
Can I use this on a wedding? It's not to loud then? And i live on a island where it's always 30 degrees. I film in bright sunlight. My R6 is overheating a lot. Do you think this will helps?
I watched this whole video and still did not understand if the fan helped with cooling or no. Did it help or no?
Sería interesante saber si reduce el ruido en exposiciones largas de fotos nocturnas y también saber si hacer vibrar mucho la cámara .
Does this apply to the R6 as well?
Im considering picking one of these up to cool my camera sensor a bit for astrophotography long-exposures. I know it's made for the R5/6... but is there any reason it wouldn't work on a T3i? Has an articulating screen, so the only potential issue is if the cooler wouldn't fit in the space it needs to go against the camera body.
You can make your own to fit
why does it have that sticky part?
I am interested in acquiring this system but I don't know if it would be compatible with a sony alpha 7siii or a 7iv, do you know if the measurements of the screen are similar to any of these, I would be very grateful
The mesurment of the screen on a canon r6(which i Think is pretty identyczny in this way to the r5) are 59/79mm
Thank you for the video, I think this would make a very nice addition, but not sure if it's better to just go with a Ninja V instead.
fkkk canon selling problems at such expensive prices
8V 5A?
Not solved if you don’t want to use add on expenses. I’m getting rid of my R5. Not worth it ! So disappointed in Canon.
Does selecting HQ or IPB matter when recording to Ninja V in 4K?
Hey, how does it work in 4K 120fps?
Thank you for this review!
If the heat issue is so great, it's a stupid camera then.
Hey man, have you tested this out in 4k 24p? I'd be curious to see how long that lasts!
you may have said and I missed it but was the fan set to 1 or 2
Was looking for this answer as well arghh. Hoping Fan speed 2 fairs much better
I have Canon R5 and Ninja V. My camera still overheats when I shoot 4K 50/60fps or 4K Fine HQ. How come yours don’t?
Make sure you do not have any cards in the card slot in the camera. and make sure you are recording to the Ninja.
Just got this rig!
sad that we have to buy a fan and a battery to support a camera at that price - it seems noisy
Hi thanks à lot for your content. When you use your sigma on your r5 i think you Loose a lot ( crop and 15mpxl résolution) Dont Know if you knew it ?. Im french btw so ... sorry for my english
You only lose in Photo, Not video. Hope that helps.
the voice is not good.. edit your audio in 70% volume.. so when you export, customer have a choice.. to make louder... i dont have choice to make this audio louder..
Unless Canon have changed the internal thermal system to actually have heat passed into the plastic body, this fan won't do a damn thing. DIY Perks did a video on this issue almost a year ago, and fixed the problem. ua-cam.com/video/X1u-9YqrIJc/v-deo.html
as you can see from the video. the fan does work. but yes it is not a full proof fix
Any chance of testing this out in 80+ degree weather? Its easy for the fan to make a difference in a room temperature environment. And these type of tests are meaningless for people like me who shoot in nothing but outdoors
I have been out in the field with it, and i can say it performs the same as in the testing shown in this video.
I wonder if you can adapt it to work with all kinds of cages 🤔
thanks for the review! May i know what is the temperature when you do the test? I also wonder what if you didnt perform cool down in the middle than we will know better how this tilta cooling kit can extend the video record time.
it was 75 degrees
Nice video! I personally would not buy this Tilta fan due to you can't use it with the battery grip for the R5. I also feel that the R5 flip out screen is extremely flimsy & always keep it folded to the body, never sticking out for risk of breaking off. Glad it works for you & please continue making excellent video reviews with it!
Thanks, I hope i can keep making good ones.
How much more last when you set the fan at mode 2? Is noisier but really shows more cooling power
There is not that much of a difference between speed 1 and speed 2
I just received my second Tilta cooler and it also doesn’t work at all. Clicked on your video and you’re using the exact model Anker power bank I’m using. So these have horrible quality control. Looks like I’m calling them up again, this time for a refund.
Sorry to hear that! I have yet to have an issue, but if one comes up ill be sure to let everyone here know
This video is way too long.
Then skip through the chapters... and only watch what you want to know.
No it's just test videos its how they are these are not reviews but scientific tests in my opinion like a university lecture
One particular use case for this thing could be to crank it on to mode 2 when in between takes or setups. Shit it off for the actual shot. This can help cool it off more with the faster fan speed and eliminate the noise problem for the actual shot. Not a solution for everyone but if one finds themselves doing a few shots then sitting is idle for ten or fifteen minutes or so this can help keep the camera cool.
Yeah that is what I thought totally not worth the money 😂 thank you for showing it like that no one will feel in to the trap
I wouldnt say it is not worth the money. I for sure works. It just depends all your specific needs. Example: We film a lot of motocross events and other outside events. This will for sure be on our cameras for those, as a safety net.
@@adaptivefilmmaker I’m sorry clearly from your video it dose not work I just hope no one will go for that stuff it is better to modify the internals and don’t make your camera looks silly 😜
@@januszciechowskiphotograph7297 I have one as well and it does indeed work.
@@januszciechowskiphotograph7297 Sorry you feel that way, But in does have benefits. Just because it might not work for you, doesn't mean it wont work for everyone.
Great review and test Zach! Happy to see this has become part of your kit!
Thanks! Maybe on the the next one we can work together!
this construction only seems to work with a Tilta cage. If you already own a cage it will be useless
Universal cages work as well
Thank you for the video.
dang...this actually works lol
What hdmi-Cable do you use for 8k?
amzn.to/3tumFrx
amzn.to/3DRWBeK
I already have a non Tilta cage that I really like so I wonder how it will fit.
I built a cage for it to fit with universal parts. but good question, I will be on the lookout for something that works all in one.
Thanks a million man for putting this together, definitely helps having someone with it on hand able to test.
Thank you!
Thank you Zach!
Question I have both the R5 and ninja v plus but the ninja v plus isn’t letting me output c-log 3 is it letting you or is just only allowing c-log 2
When recording ProRes RAW it automatically puts it in CLOG2. I have not found a way around it. CLOG2 offers the most dynamic range out of Log footage. But if you find a way around it let me know.
@@adaptivefilmmaker I most certainly will ive bring running test non stop nothing working I really wish they gave us c-log3 and not just clog-2
Looks like you have standby mode on. Your camera is outputting 720p in an 8k container. Standby mode will switch to actual 8k when you hit record on the R5. If not recording on R5, it goes on standby to 720p. Hence the no overheating
You have to have Standby mode on if you want to have NO record limit. It still produces 5k and 8k ProRes RAW. There is no difference in image quality with standby mode on or off.
@@adaptivefilmmaker if you are right, then what is standby mode on doing?
@@ziggyonthelens3173 All Standby Low Res mode does is conserve battery power and controls the rise of the camera temp while you are not recording. Once you start recording standby low res is switched off. it is only active when the camera is not recording. basically a kind of sleep mode for all the high temp functions when they are not being used.
@@adaptivefilmmaker correct. That’s exactly my point. Your camera is on standby mode. Recording on an external device doesn’t turn it off.
@@ziggyonthelens3173 Yes it does... Read the Standby Warning and also the Monitor Warning.
