Great question! Donations go to funding our three major programs: Our self-exam app that we are able to provide for free to users thanks to generous donations, Supporting our volunteer educators around the world we media or print teaching materials, and our educational campaign that gets marketed to various parts of the world as well as translated into more languages. www.knowyourlemons.org/donate

This is NOT the whole story. Lobular cancer is hard to detect esp if deep in the breast. My 6cm lump did not show up at all on three separate mammograms…the last only a couple of months before I had the breast removed. It felt soft, hardly registered on the ultra scan and did not look like a tumour even then. The specialist did not think it was a tumour on my first visit a few months before it was identified and being slow growing, it had been there a long time….possibly linked to two DVTs I had two years before. when I had the initial mammogram. The hospital concerned is a major cancer centre and the treatment I received was fantastic once identified through a biopsy. If something feels wrong despite what the technology says…keep asking!!

You are absolutely right! If you have a concern that you feel is worth taking the time to talk to your doctor about, *that is enough evidence to request testing whether or not your doctor can confirm your concern.* Your peace of mind is important too. If testing shows that the breast concern is fine, it is a mental health benefit. To know that your concern has been investigated fully nad addressed, is better than waiting and worrying. Don't put off your appointment when something doesn't seem right to you. Trust your instincts. No one knows your body better than you!

Hi! That can be worrying when you notice a change, but you are smart for wanting to check it out. If you are concerned enough to reach out about a breast issue, then that's enough to know you are ready to see a doctor about it. To learn about the steps you take for investigating a breast change and how to have a conversation with your doctor, download our Know Your Lemons app.

I have always been taught to "feel for a lump". I was diagnosed with stage 4 BC and never felt a lump, but had 4 symptoms represented in the lemon graphic. Who taught me to look for those symptoms? No one. This campaign is genius.
