Troubleshoot Shark IQ Side Brush Error (Obstruction Error #2)
Переглядів 122 тис.4 роки тому
This video shows how to troubleshoot a problem that appears fairly common with the Shark IQ robot vacuum. The vacuum will stop about 20 seconds after starting, with a message about "Obstruction" and "Error #2." You check the vacuum thoroughly, but nothing is there! However, the red flashing lights on the vacuum indicate a problem with the side brushes, per the user manual. Replacing the side br...

How to Repair Holes in Knit Sweaters
So it didn't work.for you either..
Thanks for the explanation, I have identical problem as you did, here is what i did to fix mine: I use WD40 & Dyelectric Grease, 1. remove the brush assembly (1 screw), this will expose that white axle where the screw comes out from 2. i basically took the patience using its spray nozzle to drawn these lubricants in mix of both cans, through the axle hole which the lube will find its way into actual gear box chamber, let the lubricant sink in little by little as you spray it, eventually it will flood the gearbox chamber and hopefully it will find its way to the motor deeper depth inside. there is no need to disassemble anything aside from the little spinning brush. but patience pays off in my case. let the lube travel its way through the gear box and find its way to the motor.. hand spin it time after time while you are lubing, it wont make much difference at first, set it back on the charging station, an hour later, my was free from being stuck and so far its running all over the house with out an issue. note: not just one squirt, i estimated about half an oz of each spray can let your vaccum sit up-side-down so lube can travel deep in for an hour before putting back in charging station. fingers crossed.
That worked. Thank you
It’s an herb!! I hope yu didn’t trash it
If you guys are able to afford a new side brush motor and a TORX security screw set. Then I would highly recommend swapping out the motor. It worked for me!
I have had the same problem with my vacuum. What I found that solved the issue was to take off the side brushes, put WD40 around the plastic the side brushes attach to, than I use a pair of plyers to work the wd 40 down into the machine. Put the side brushes back on and it works.
Toto je skvelá liečivá rastlina. U nás sa volá ,,skorocel,, Čo znamená, že pomáha rýchlo hojiť rany.❤️
Hey! Just so you know, wild plantain can be used to treat mosquito bites! You just crush it up and put the juice on your bite and it'll help with the itching! It also helps with poison ivy if I'm not mistaken.
The seeds can be roasted also
Your medicine is waving at you, use it don't destroy it
UA-cam has a worldwide viewership. Gotta highlight ‘where’ it is invasive or where it’s natural. Its not invasive in NE Asia which I am viewing from.

R they in specific zones?
Why kill the plant? It’s a flowering plant.
Omg thank you for taking the time to post this. Youre a good human! ❤ it worked! Thank you!!
We tried this, thanks for the info! For us it ended up just being hair, but in case we get the error messages again we'll keep this in mind too.
I’ll try the silicone spray next time, but what I did notice is after a time the side brush seems to get permanently bent and the rubber part of the brush arm seems to rub the floor enough to cause the error. Putting on a nice new straight brush solved the problem for several months (until that brush got bent). I don’t know how to prevent that but a package of brushes will allow me to fix it for some time.
Thank you!
I just put some oil on those and it’s working now.
Thank you!!! I have cleaned it as much as I could without totally disassembling it - but still kept getting that error! I couldn’t get the brushes off but squirted silicone spray around the brushes and it’s working like it’s brand new! You rock!!!
I watched all the videos this was my problem. Thank you!
THANK YOU!!
We had this problem after replacing side brushes. My husband noticed a certain way to put the new brushes on the screws to position them out i had only just took off old and put on new, not paying attention just popping the replacements on. We are watching ours now to see if we get that error.
That’s a cool hack but these garbage robots shouldn’t require it to function as expected
This helped me figure out why I wasn't moving, but I just flipped it over and spined the slower flipper fan, and then it worked for a good bit
Thank you
One of my front brushes doesn’t spin. Error 2. Took it apart and put wd40. No dice. Any ideas?
Thank you!
It works!! Thank you. I also added some lubricant on both sides
Solved my problem. Thank you.
I appreciate you posting this video I tried everything but when I did that it worked perfect I just took the little flapper off of it and then use it thank you very much.
My shark long brush is moving but nothing else is happening. The lights aren't even on abd the vacuum is clean????
That worked YAY After cleaning the brush bearings cleaning off all of the electric eyes etc etc still same issue. That whisker flick was what did it. I was starting to worry my little robo vac was a paper weight. Great video Thanks
If you have a small torx-head driver, you can remove the side brush and clean under it. There may be some yuck that is causing the friction that is preventing it from going 'round. Also, Amazon has very inexpensive side brushes and roller brush replacements. Thanks for the video, it helped me! 💛
Cleaned everything. Removed all gross matter. Hair, dirt, dust, debris. Still error. Wiped all sensors with alcohol. Error. Came down to a hard restart - depress both buttons.
I fixed mine without having to dismantel it. I did it by putting sharky on his back and spinning brush, in the direction it is suppose to turn when vaccuming, at high rpm with a drill for about 2 minutes. Now, it spins as freely as once it was new. I am not saying it is risk free but if you are about to trash you dutifull droid, give it a try.
You're spinning the motor on your right the wrong way. The two motors spin inversely to each other. They should both offer resistance depending on which direction you spin them; and they should be "free" when you spin them the other way. So one should be tough clockwise, while the other will be "free" clockwise. I don't think you've found the root problem...you may still be able to find the cause and solve that so you can use scheduling.
Brand new out of the box and this error occurred 😢, took off side brush and works fine
I haven't tried to fix it yet but I think this is exactly what's happening and maybe why one of those was missing when I got it because I bought a product that had been returned and I bet somebody got so frustrated they just sent it back to Amazon. I'm going to go in there now and try and fix it. It worked with the one brush, it's been since I bought the new brushes that I'm having a problem! Thanks!
Omg you fixed mine!!!!
Both of my robots have started doing this. One last week and one this week. Thank you for posting this video even though it's a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure that this will help me fix the problem.
Brilliant! After taking apart the bottom roller completely and cleaning out all the hair and debris, I still had error 2. After seeing your video, I removed the two side brushes, added 100% silicone lube and put the brushes back on. Now the machine runs perfectly. No babysitting necessary!
Thanks. This worked for mine!
I found a ball of dust in the housing of the side brush. I pried off the side brush with a screwdriver and cleaned the housing. Then I replaced both side brushes after cleaning the housing so that they would be balanced. Both of them spin in the toe-in direction, so it would be more difficult to go one way than the other. Thanks for clueing me in with the side brush issue.
Yeah same thing here. Very bummed out
Thank you. I have the same issue..sounds like this is a common serious issue that they need to reengineer or redesign the brush .
the brushes spin in opposite directions which is why it feels "tougher" to spin the one.. spin in the other direction and it goes the same torque
I can tell by the comments that people are just hearing the error but not checking the manual for error light. that's why there's a dozens fixes that work for some and not others. mine had nothing to do with brushes its brand new ( just bought today) and doesn't work outta the box. the error says the same thing but the light indicates it's the bumper. so this video isn't a fix all.... check ur indicator lights.
just got mine today. and same issue...your fix didn't work:(
thanks Felice. Would never have known. Appreciate your hack and your taking the time to make this video!!!
Same problem here! There is no hair, obstructions, or anything I could find, but it shuts down all the time. It is supposed to save me time, and hassles, but has added a new set. I will definitely try this! Thanks so much!
Gracias. But we shouldn´t be running behind the robot. lol. Very helpful though
