I think I would have tinted the base coat or primer so it wasn't such a stark white color for the "mortar" lines. Great DIY tutorial! I'm seeing this a few years out from when you completed this project. Are you still pleased with it, and do you still live in the same home? If you've moved, how did potential buyers react to the faux brick?

I Am So, Sooooo Glad That Content Lives On Forever On The Internet! Loved Your Extremely Helpful Video! Currently, Everyone seems to be out of stock at both Lowe's and Home Depot,(as of Dec. 27, 2022) of the "ProForm" Brand Compound in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. I just found what looks like a local distributor about 10min. away.

Thanks you. I was just shopping yesterday for a stencil to do bricks on my wall, kinda expensive, or getting those bricks panels which would have involved $150 plus I would have to rent a truck!! I am so glad I found your video. I have done designs on walls with joint compound before. Didn't think of brick so thank you so much! Your wall looks great! Wish me luck! 😁

1) .07 tape is too thick for grout lines. Find a thinner tape if you want a realistic look. 2) Grout is rarely white. Use a warm gray as an under coat. 3) Mix paint into the joint compound to use as a base color. Saves you a step, helps primer the compound, and helps it stick to the drywall. 4) Use a small roller with the brick color you want. If you put it on dryish, you create texture with each color.

I would use narrower tape.

I see a lot of ppl here are commenting on the decorations but, I much rather look at the storage areas which she failed to show. Pantry, closet space & so forth. The decorations shouldn't even be filmed bc it's not part of the home. I guess that's one of my pet peeves when viewing these channels. What's the point of that? Regardless, thanks for taking your time in showing the properties.

How long do you let the Joint compound dry?

I just watch a video yesterday and it said you should never add syrup to your milk before you froth it. It will “brick” your machine and your machine will be damaged and not repairable. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I just thought I’d let you know, just in case it is true. I love your fall decorations though.
