I appreciate you watching the videos and thanks for the kind feedback. I think I say it in the videos but one of the reasons I post this is exactly what you stated. I remember trying to find answers to questions before we went the first time and it is easy to find highlight videos and crash videos, but I wanted to know about the trails and what to expect and the logistics of the condos etc. Where to store the bikes is one of the biggest questions I had. I think in a video I show storing them in our condo, which is what we do most of the time, even though they have signs saying no bikes in the rooms, but it seems that is what most everyone does. There are bike racks you can lock your bikes too and some places have a locker room you can keep them in. We have done all options at some point but generally keep them in our room overnights and lock to bike racks during the day. The most important thing though is just to go and have fun no matter where you ride.

Additional comment about bike storage. Not every place we go has condos right there and we stay at nearby hotels or even when staying at hotels on the trips to get there and going home. We now always bring our bikes into the hotel rooms. I had at times locked them with a cable to the bike rack behind our van. One trip we had our 3 bikes stolen out of the hotel parking lot. They cut the cable and stole the bikes. It was no fun, we take our bikes into the room always. No one at any of the hotels has ever questioned us as we take them through the lobby and up the elevator. Keep your bikes safe.

Thanks, it was our first visit and just love the place. It is true I can't keep up with my sons, they are wonderful riders, especially considering they only get to see these type of trails a couple times a year since it is so far from S FL.

Thanks, I.m slow but I have fun. One of the reasons I post these videos of full trails instead of just highlights like most mtb videos is when I was originally researching places to ride I wanted to see what obstacles each trail had before I tried to ride it. So now I post these rides with my slow ride full runs which allows anyone to get a great preview of what to expect if they try to ride these trails.

@@gs8259 I can't take any credit, but selfishly I'm trying to avoid my own injuries because I love riding and I want to be able to keep riding and hope the same for everyone else.

Thanks for the comments about my sons, they are watching out for their old dad. I believe if I can ride something basically anyone who rides can ride it, in my experience as long as you don't rush blindly into something most trails have options that I can work my way to make it down the trail. But like all other mountain bikers I have crashed, my worst was our first trip going to a bike park and I crashed on a trail ride on the way there, so I rode the rest of the trip with a separated shoulder, that was a painful learning experience.

My sons and I loved Ride Rock Creek, this was our first time visiting so we were learning all the trails. People don't often give credit to green trails on youtube but this became my favorite green trail to ride, it is long and very fun. The shuttle was also crazy and fun, I didn't get it on video, but you sit on benches on the back of a truck with your bike on a trailer behind the truck. We never waited long and it speeds quickly up the road. The drop off is a short walk from the trail heads, some are a little further but Green River and Tumbleweed start less than 100ft from drop off point. You can see the shuttle in the drop off circle just after the first turn on the trail at 2:01 in the video.

Absolutely had fun, it had been a few years since we had last been there, we liked the updates that had occurred. It is true the lift is slow, but plenty of fun trail options. We wished we hadn’t waited so long to come back.

We actually have the newer 27.5 version for both of my sons, but they are the Trance X 1 with better components. Enjoy yours they are great bikes.

@@rwogmtb-ridingwitholdguy I've upgraded my wheels/hubs, brakes, and handlebars on my 2021. Went with alloy Industry 9 Enduro wheels and the Hydra hubs, Shimano Ice Tech brakes, and an eThirteen carbon riser bar. Probably shaved almost 2lbs off of the total weight and the engagement of the Hydra is fantastic. That bike is an amazing bang for the buck. Ride on!!!

@@rwogmtb-ridingwitholdguyno problem, basically all you see on here is pros riding parks. They never show the blue trails or the normal stuff. Yeah we had a blast and I rode 51 miles in one day on one charge. I forgot to add the old 7 mile bridge bike patg into my day of riding. I wouldn't have done any of it without the ebikes.

Thanks for watching, going back to 31.8 does seem like a good idea. I had seen recommendations for the spank 350 as a front wheel in combo with the 359 as the rear before too, Sadly that bike was stolen about a year ago. We replaced with the giant trance x version. The new bikes do have the spank vibrocore bars but we have not done the wheels yet and likely would go the 350/359 combo route next time.

@@rwogmtb-ridingwitholdguy nukeproof horizon is a good compliment wheel. Now you should get good deal on nukeproof since they're under administration. Also get sticky and very grippy grips and tell your son not to squeeze the bars as much. All this tips help with the arm pump. Gloves also help. Check fork too. Make sure is set-up correctly

We have used slime at times currently we use Stans for sealant. I would actually say the biggest impact in preventing flats for us was using tire inserts. We use cushcore and combined with DH casing tires we have not gotten a flat since this video over 2 years ago. That setup can be excessive for normal trail riding and slow rolling if you are racing but it is great for bike park riding.

Bike storage is a bit haphazard. Allegheny Springs and I think most of the village condos have locker rooms designed for skis for winter. Many people bring locks and lock their bikes in there. A couple of the condos, but not Allegheny Sprins, have basement parking garages, we locked our bikes in the RimFire garage in the past. There are a few bike racks in the village some people lock their bikes to those. Some of the off village condos have good sized mud rooms in the entrances for skis etc that work for bikes. However despite all of the condos we have stayed in saying they do not allow bikes in the rooms. Many people bring their bikes into the rooms. We have done a mixture of all of these in the past over different trips.

You right about that. We have visited many times in the summer for mountain biking, but this was our first visit for skiing. It is beautiful.

Skyline is great fun, if you haven't checked them out already you likely will also like Dirt Beaver, Dreamweaver and Nija Bob, and yes I ride slow enough to get a good look at the trail, plus I do a lot of full top to bottom run videos so you know for sure what to expect. When I was researching before our first visit I watched lots of videos but mostly they were cut up highlights of peoples riding. They did show the fun stuff but I wanted to see the full trail. As for the village condos we have stayed in Rimfire and Allegheny Springs, both say no bikes in the rooms. I know lots of people do still bring their bikes into the rooms. Also some people lock their bikes up in the ski locker rooms the condos have, and sometime people lock their bikes to the few bike racks located around the village. We have done all of these options during different trips, I recommend you bring a lock to give yourself options and I believe condo location drives how convenient it is or isn't to bring your bikes to the room. If you are just down the hall from the front desk they may say something if you regularly bring your bike in, but if you are close to an alternate entrance likely you will not have any issue. I try to stay in the same condo since we found one near an alternate entrance with no need to use the elevator for just this reason to take the bikes in when I want to bring them in. We generally lock them on a bike rack during the day when we take breaks and then bring them in at night or if I need to work on them. Have fun when you go, we are planning to get back hopefully a couple times this summer.

Thanks for watching, the stock Giant connect bars were 780mm width, 20mm rise, 7 degree rearward, 5 degree upward sweep. The replacement Spank Spike Vibrocore bars were 800m trimmed to 780mm, 30mm rise, 8 degree rearward, 4 degree upward sweep.

That trail sounds like more than I can handle. Skyline at Snowshoe is such fun and a highlight for me each time we visit Snowshoe.

So true, so many things can impact how your hands feel when riding. We have tried various gloves and gel padding, also numerous grips. Plus what works for one doesn't necessarily work for others. For us the Spank Vibrocore bars do make a noticeable difference, we pair them with PNW Loam grips. This doesn't eliminate pain completely, but it is a great improvement. Please let me know what you find that works for you.

@@rwogmtb-ridingwitholdguy the pnw bars helped a lot , they are made of 2014 aluminum , flexes and absorbs the trail a bit better . I just ordered esi foam grips that are supposed to help out with hand numbness.This is for my fat rigid fat bike so I also dropped 2 psi on the front tire . Im a 43 year old welder and my hands aren’t what they used to be .

I am a giant fan of Snowshoe and recommend it for anybody. Hard to say about your fear, I don’t really know your circumstance. I would guess try to go with someone you trust and are comfortable with, to help you through it. You could try finding a smaller shorter lift to try first to build your comfort. I believe many ski resorts use shorter lifts in the ski season for beginner areas, that may be something to try first. All I can say is you will be glad you do go to the bike park it is great fun. I am jealous you are that close. We drive up from South Florida to ride.

Thanks for watching, I have a batch of posts of runs coming from our bike park trip last summer. Giant fan of the Trance, pun intended. In this video my son is riding his 2022 Trance, the 27.5 150/140 version. His brother is riding his 2019 Trance 2, also the 27.5 150/140 version. I am riding my 2021 Trance X 29 3, which is 150/135. So we love the Giant Trance, a great bike.

@@rwogmtb-ridingwitholdguy It's amazing what I'm able to send on 130/115 at Bike Park Wales, even 4 foot drops and jumps although I landed a drop to flat which my Rocky Mountain Altitude 150/135 handles with aplomb but my Trance 115 DPS shock bottomed out on so it does have its limits. Loved the pun BTW 😜

@@TheBikeRoom I’ve heard such good things about Bike Park Wales, cool you get to enjoy it. We travel to ride, but 15 hours to Snowshoe is so far our limit. Sadly these bikes were all stolen on our way home from the trip that these runs are from. Luckily the police recovered mine, but my sons were not. Lucky for them they got new 2022 Giant Trance X 1, with Fox 36 Grip2 forks and Fox Float X shocks. I have a couple videos posted detailing the theft and the new bikes.

Or me, we are out riding and having fun, that's a win.

I will look into those, but currently have updated all our bikes to the PNW Loam grips and really like them. Your point though that grips can have an impact on the hand pain is valid.

Thanks for watching, yes vibrocore isn't a magic cure all as many things can impact how you feel. I do believe it is one tool that helps and I put vibrocore bars on all our bikes. We generally ride bike park a few times each year and that is when vibrocore's benefit is most noticeable on long high speed runs with chatter. I do like the wheels too but so far only put them on my oldest son's bike as shown in the video. But will upgrade to them when I can. I checked out your channel and subscribed, keep making videos and have fun riding.

I stumbled on the the Vibrocore. I wanted to raise the height of my bars. Spank has two bars with a 75mm rise. The Vibrocore was much more, but because of my hand pain issues I gave it a shot. Final results were beyond my expectations. There is less body weight pressure on my hands as a result of raising the bars. However, I do feel that the Vibrocore helped dampen much of that harsh road vibration. In my opinion the Vibrocore is the real deal. I highly recommend it.

First, thanks for watching my videos. Sadly, yes, our bikes were stolen the last night on our trip home. Very observant of you, I made the slideshow first and then when I decided not to put the stolen bikes in this video I didn't go back and redo the slideshow. I am planning to make a post just about our bikes getting stolen. Sadly, one of the bikes was recently new for my youngest and I didn't even get his "new bike day" video made. It was a very empty feeling when I realized they were stolen.

@@RAD_Dad3 Thanks, I appreciate your comments, and not to spoil the next video but we did find my bike listed on the internet and the sheriff retrieved it. No luck with finding my sons bikes yet and they were the ones I really wanted back. One as I mentioned was almost still new and the other had many upgrades and was dialed just the way my oldest liked it. I have been shopping and just recently ordered new bikes for them so yes, "new bike day" will be coming.
