Dr. Anderson, you undermined your own conclusion. You aparently suffer from a bias. Maybe a loved one who really works hard and you take it personally that everyone else abuses that loved one's generation as lazy? Worse than lazy, as your lecture makes clear, they are entitled. Entitled to cozy working conditions, a schedule that fits their needs, and with pay and compensation that accounts for their urban bourgeois virtues. Where I work, where I shop, and in my community spaces young people that can show up, pay attention and complete a task are non-existent. If you try to enforce any kind of business boundary or productive sensibility, they instantly develop the victim triangle where reality is the persecutor and they are the sanctimonious martyr for their causes. Then you site government statistics. Are BLS reports even peer reviewed? Do you really expect honesty from government? If so, they should pay off your loans and give you equal value as pay for promoting their position. Finally, is there a study to support your position that accounts for Social Desirability Bias? What would anyone expect these young people to say about work? You clearly prepared for this but your evidence does not live up to the emotional devotion you have for your conclusion. Your loved ones could easily be heros and this generation still be absolute trash.

Unlimited PTO is a scam, so employers don't have to pay out unused earned PTO when employees leave the company for any reason. Beware of companies that embrace this time-off structure.

Me reading the fine print: “Unlimited PTO”. Okay one week a month it is! On the positive side for the company, I bet that employee is super excited about their position at that company and loves their job and is productive.

Also, we as millenials are having kids later in life and less kids overall, because we have such an economically precarious position as we start out in our careers. (Student loans, Great Recession, etc.)
