Established in 2017, but guided by a lifetime of memories.
Please join us on our journey of remembering and honoring my Dad in everything that we do. He was a hard working, faithful farmer up until his passing in December 2016 at only 62 years old.
2017 was the first year farming (part-time) on our own, but I know my Dad will always be with us.
We will always remember you Dad. Your time with us was far too short, but you taught us to work hard, do a good job, and have a love of what you do. Love You Dad.

Finally Snow In West Michigan To Snowmobile! ❄️
You have a good looking crop. Like you said, lost top end but atleast you still have a good crop.
Appreciate the words, Jon! I think this year more than any it’s been easier to be critical of it because of the falling prices. But if we can continue to get timely rains, there’s at least something - which for some guys, they didn’t even get that
I had to double check the date on this video. I didn’t realize anybody in Michigan was having dry weather. We certainly haven’t here in Livingston County and most people I talk to in West. Michigan said they were getting dumped on.
It’s been such a weird summer watching the storm fronts come across. I’d say Oceana/Muskegon counties keep having the storms either go north/south. We got less than an inch all July, when most areas seemed to be picking up an inch every week. The extended forecast even now doesn’t look the best - about 10-14 days until the next rain chance
@@RemembranceFarmsLLC yeah you’re in a little dry pocket there
that’s how it’s been here splitting going north and south. 3.1” from the hurricane 5 miles west of me got 7 inches which I didn’t want that much but today you wouldn’t even know we had 3.1
@TheGrumpyFarmer Watching IowaFarmer, I shouldn’t complain, because too much would be worse. It’s certainly been weird how spotty the rains have been this summer though.
What kind of drop hoses? Or are they homemade?
I’m so sorry for my slow response!! I took a little break from UA-cam, but wish I would’ve responded sooner. I actually made mine homemade. Hopefully this link works of me making them. Overall, I’m really happy with them. ua-cam.com/video/Z3NDGxEYHaA/v-deo.htmlsi=TRsV8NDTrLy0qo92
Damn near took out your camera operator 🤦♂️🤣
@@TheGrumpyFarmer may have swung a little wide on the corner - probably should’ve downshifted 😆🤦♂️
Spray some free all on that seat 😂 and I haven’t use the drone in two years now 🤦♂️
@@TheGrumpyFarmer Well now that you brought it to my attention, that’s all I can hear now 😆🤦♂️ I usually like flying the drone but typically it’s right when I need to be busy, so I don’t always get to
That Stevens guy is pretty full of hot air How did you build your prescription
I’ve heard that about him
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 haha. I really thought it was an interesting perspective 🙂 Right now I use a combination of different programs. I use John Deere Operations Center to initially create the prescription based on 3-5 years of historical yield data. And then I export that into AgLeader SMS to get the maps for the Integra. Based on the historical yield ranges, I try to match the lbs of nitrogen with the expected yield. I have fun with it :)
Even the bible talks about the need for food production. This is not the pastor I would support.
You should send this to him
You ever think about trying those Y drop hoses . I know a lot of guys have gone to them
Every so often I’ll see them on marketplace. Too rich for my blood though. I think ~$500 per row x 24 rows. I also think I’m a bit limited with the x-fold boom - I don’t think I’d be able to fold it with them on. With that said, I watched a demo of them once at a farm field day, and they do seem like a great setup. Puts the nitrogen on either side of the corn row.
@@RemembranceFarmsLLC holy shit I didn’t realize they were that expensive 😳🤦♂️
@@TheGrumpyFarmer They do have a pretty extensive mount, drop pipe, plus y-unit. But yeah, every time I’ve thought about it I just couldn’t justify it 😬
That’s the fastest I’ve ever seen you move 😂
If only the tank would fill up that fast 😆
That is a really slick unit. Now that I built myself a tender trailer I am debating in the future do I go to a unit like that. When I had no tender and I drove back and forth from the field to the farm I needed a lot of capacity on the sprayer. But the speed and maneuverability of that unit man a guy could get a lot done
Thank you Jon! The funny thing, from time to time I wonder if I should find a 1600 gallon pull type like my Dad’s farm had - just because filling up less often would certainly be nice! But like you said, the speed and maneuverability is certainly nice! It doesn’t take up too too much space in the barn, and leaves two less tracks in the field. I use this for sidedressing too with drop hoses - something I took from your channel many years ago!
All your techy toys 😂
How else would I be able to watch movies, make TikToks, and text while spraying 😆 (kidding - on some of that)
Nice spraying that....,.. On the floor
On the floor?
I could’ve had 10 acres sprayed in the time it took you to push all those buttons 😂😂
😆😆😆 You’re not wrong. But - now I don’t have to reach up and turn the boom off when I turn around on end rows. 😉
You’re such a nerd 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Hey be nice Grumpy, you hurt Doofus ags feelings with your comments I see🤣🤣
@@mrbill4187 Kevin and I are friends so I can call him a nerd and he knows he’s one 🤣
@@TheGrumpyFarmer🤣 🤣, I knew you were freinds. He's farms only a town away from me towards the big lake.
I try 😆 They were probably thinking the same thing in the chopper as we’re sitting in the back eating pizza
Haha. It’s fun when Andy gives me a hard time. He’s a good guy so I never think anything of it 😆
Is everything washed up and put away today we washed everything because it’s rained three out of the last four days. Only thing that didn’t get washed was the chisel plow
All washed up and put away early this year!! I’ll admit, it’s a good feeling. I got all of my spray on this past weekend, and now just have to sidedress yet. I figured I’d wait for the corn to get a little taller this year, so maybe 7-10 days away yet.
👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Take this country back in November!
The music made me think of the deliverance movie 🤦♂️🤣 and you’re welcome for giving you the motivation to wash the planter as soon as you’re done 😁
😆 When I needed a quick UA-cam approved song and didn’t take too long to find one. Haha. It does feel really nice to already have it washed up and put away!
I love this country
Yes sir!!!
Extra tractors are nice, I used to get tired of hooking and unhooking all the time but now I pretty much leave everything hooked up all the time😆. I almost bought an 8560 last fall but my phone went dead while bidding, little underpowered but it was nice shape and good rubber, oh well.🤣
I’ll admit, that was one of my favorite parts about this spring is I didn’t have to keep hooking and unhooking - especially the planter. Tillage equipment is never too bad, but the planter takes a little bit. I’m so happy with the 9200 this year. Obviously a bit nostalgic too, since that’s the model my Dads farm owned. But it did such a good job with tillage and was definitely more efficient in pulling it compared to the 8245R. (By the way, I thought I replied back to this two weeks ago so I feel bad I never hit send!!) Hope spring planting went well for you too!
Well you needed that 9200 for when you had your whoopsie with the 8245 and the planter 🤦♂️🤣
See, went right as planned buying a tractor I really didn’t need, but knew I really really wanted after looking at it on Christmas Eve 😆 Got me unstuck and helped me get the corn planted in time.
So were you still smiling when you got stuck
Maybe not smiling 😆 Some choice words instead since I knew I needed to stay productive planting. Plus my brother was out of town that day, so I wasn’t sure who to call for help. Thankfully I had a buddy close by that was able to drive the 8245R while I pulled with the 9200 🤦♂️
Looks like it's working up nicely!
All things considered, I’m really happy with the soil conditions this year. Some wet areas yet, but nothing the 9200 couldn’t make it through (my planter tractor - not so much as I showed in my last video 😆)
Though deere didn't get stuck?
Well thankfully it was the far back corner, so had I not posted it on UA-cam, no one would have ever known 😆 (My Dad used to joke that if a John Deere were to ever break down, you needed to tow it behind the barn so no one could see)
I hope you got HUD’s permission before you were working his tractor like that! Lol
Haha. The funny thing we actually call the 9200 after my wife (“Alyssa II”) since it arrived on Valentine’s Day so it must be her tractor now 😆
Looks like maybe your steering was set too aggressive and it was steering back and forth a lot
I’ll have to check that out actually! I’ve typically had the sensitivity fairly high just so it adjusts quickly. But it may be better to not have it steer back and forth so much. (Always figure it’s still less than I steer back and forth 😆)
When’s the stuck video coming 😉😁
Haha. I don’t know what you’re talking about - John Deere’s don’t get stuck 😉
2:14 he’s smiling 😂
About time, right?! I was really worried I wouldn’t be planting until June 😬
@3:00 fire up the jet engine
It certainly sounds like it outside of the cab! I’ll sometimes forget until I get out to check on things and I’m like “wow, that’s loud” 😆
Love the American Flag!
Thank you! Proud to be flying it! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Thank you for watching!
Nice vid Puts my 2 years old to sleep. Thank you! Reminds him of my 9200 lol
I’ve been so thankful having the 9200 on the farm this spring. Certainly helped when it was a tighter window to get things done! Thank you for watching!
Look it’s smiley 😂
Haha. Funny how when it holds off raining long enough to plant how happy you can be 😆 Hopefully things are going well your way!
Are you feeling ok? You didn’t seem as excited as usual 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Haha. Stress of continually looking at the forecast and not knowing exactly when it’ll be good to start planting 😆🤦♂️ So far the 10 day doesn’t look good
Did you end up taking the extensions off? How does the 8245r pull and how fast
I actually didn’t, no. I did take out the two outer shanks to bring it down to 30’ (width of the rolling baskets I pull). But figured taking the frame off would’ve been a lot more work than needed :)
Servicing tractors is not a fun job for me as I get older 🤦♂️🤣
Well since I have Hudson on barn cleaning duties right now, only a matter of time before I can convince him servicing the equipment is a “fun” job too, right?! 😆
Fun doing the equiptment move around! Hope you have a good day too Hudson!
I think he’s really excited and waiting for actually being out on the fields. Hopefully in the next two weeks!
Enjoyed watching! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you so much for watching!
I ordered one from tractorseats 4 months ago because i wasnt sure if these from shoup were the right ones. Still havent gotten the one from them so i may give this shoup one a try. Thanks for the vid!
Hopefully it’s an easy install for you!! I was pleasantly surprised with mine. The instructions may not have been the best, but it seemed straight forward. The one thing I’d probably do different is have larger self tapping screws instead of bolts. Good luck!
Hi Any part number / make on seat installed ? Thanks
I was able to get mine from Shoup! Part #27450. Pretty easy install! Reach out if you have any questions though
Time to plant lol
I’m still impatiently waiting 😆 Hopefully in the next two weeks at least
Well stop flapping jaw and get after it 🤦♂️🤣
Oh calm down Grumpy, He got it finished and now things are good!!!!
Procrastination at its finest. 😆 Looking back, thankfully it wasn’t too bad of a job. But with how heavy those pieces are, I wasn’t looking forward to it. The loader was a big help this time though.
Now I can be more excited for spring to be here 😆
Right???
A bit wet here in eastern Michigan.
Liar, liar pants on fire 😂
Хорошая история👍
Stupid video of a pump running!
I like auto shift on the road. It acts like a car idle down and it will downshift idle up and tractor will upshift
I’m going to feel really dumb if that’s a feature on my tractor and I didn’t know it. I feel like I’ve seen that on the IVT but not on the 16 speed. It’d be nice if I was wrong though!
Ya just push the trans button go to 16 push set button and it will shift by itself depending on engine rpm think u can set shift patterns based on what rpm u want it to shift at somewhere too.
@brucebruhn5620 Now I’m going to have to check that out! Thank you!
I like it in field too set ur working gear and when u throttle down for end rows it'll downshift n upshift when u throttle up again . The button on ur resume switch push back to activate on its own or will activate when u hit resume if ur autotrac n
Pretty much around most are saying the same thing you have this kind of warmth and evaporation this early you’re gonna get drought
Thankful that it has gotten cooler again this past week. But still so far away from our normal warm up that I don’t quite know what to expect yet. Hoping and praying for the fruit guys, since I know that’ll be pretty dicey until May
AJ says where he’s at in Iowa in February he was dryer now than in 2012
As much as I’ve found it “fun” getting a chance to do tillage in March, I’d rather have snow cover and moisture. I feel like it’s going to come back to haunt us. Did you have a dry 2012?
@@RemembranceFarmsLLC yes but not as bad as the Midwest
Are you doing any yield comparisons between notill and disc ripping?
I actually don’t do any no-till. But I do yield map all of the fields so I have a better idea where to variable rate my planter. Most of the sand/lighter ground gets a lower population. But I do tillage on all of it though.
