関西生まれの私は、天神祭も祇園祭も行ったことがあります。天神祭りは明るく花火で盛り上がって楽しく終わるのに対し、祇園祭はどこか影があり熱く艶かしい印象があります。
この曲は、男女が逢瀬の間、祇園祭の音が聞こえてくるのですが、不倫の間柄で外を二人で歩くことができません。主人公の女性が「祇園祭にいつか二人で出かけることができるんだろうか」と思い悩む様子が描かれています。
I was born in Kansai and have been to both the Tenjin Festival and the Gion Festival. The Tenjin Festival is bright and lively, ending with fireworks and a festive atmosphere, whereas the Gion Festival has a certain shadowy, intense, and seductive allure.
This song depicts a scene where a man and a woman are meeting in secret while the sounds of the Gion Festival echo in the background. However, because they are in a forbidden relationship, they cannot walk outside together. The female protagonist wonders, “Will there ever be a day when we can go to the Gion Festival together?” as she struggles with her emotions.
