Adventure ride to Walhalla- VStrom 1000, F850GS, KLR 650
Good to be back on the dirt, a ride to ease back into it after spending most of our time of the street recently. Oh and a sign from above to buy the new F900GS 😁

F900GS Initial impressions

A quick spin on the new BMW F900GS. I am in the market for a new middleweight ADV bike. With the Desert X my preferred choice, I had to get a ride on this before making a decision. This is a big enduro bike, I like the direction BMW have taken this bike, firm, sporty and would really annoy some people in the twisties. The lack of pillion space and tall seat height makes BMW's intentions clear.

We started a day later due to the rain but there was still a lot of water and a small amount of rain hanging around.

The BMW 900 looks like a rebadged Voge Valico DS900X, they are both made by the same people.
Just bought one and havent ridden yet but standing on it in the shed i thought it looked off square , will check when out for a ride today
I saw another in the wild. It was the first thing I checked, and it seemed fine, so I'm guessing this one was just an issue with the dealer assembly. Mine arrives in 44 days, but who's counting 🤣
Looks like the forks are twisted in the yoke.Non issue, just straighten.
I think that was the issue, after seeing another F9GS in the flesh, it was the first thing I checked 👌
Seeing the stop at the Dam here made me think that when you did your ride mate to Tassie with the boys in Feb, you should have maybe included an ride to Gordon Dam/Lake Pedder past New Norfolk. Probably one of the best roads to ride in Tassie on an bike from Hobart.
We decided this time to mix it up a little. We had done that run the last 2 times we have been down to Tasmania. Will definitely do it again next time, it is a great ride👌
Good work Shannon. Gary’s new bike looks nice.
I think so too! He looks more confident on it also.
A quick shifter on an off-road bike???? I know that the latest 'Stroms have it, but always wondered why. Like to hear more about its advantages when off-roading.
On the upshift, I found it brilliant whether riding high in the Rpm or keeping it low in the meaty part of the engine, just slick and easy. On the downshift, it's good for hard braking without needing to adjust your left hand. No need for a qs if you are just cruising, but still a lot of fun😁.
Nice footage, we were there the weekend after when nsw copped a rain bomb. Nice part of the country.
Thanks, we couldn't of asked for better weather. Ride well ✊️🏍💭
Damn sexy machine😍
And the obvious comparison - how does it fare against the V-Strom? Ie: power and torque delivery, weight and balance? The Strom is a tall bike. Is the 900 talk as well? And what goes in where those two blanket plates are above the dash?
Feels like so much more grunt than the Vstrom (but 6hp more, 10nm less torque and 13kg lighter), it's also a tall bike. I was flat footed at 179cm but only just and the enduro version is taller again as the bike will sit higher in the stroke. Balance is much better too. There's not much to dislike about the bike.
@@THENKDRCR since seeing this vid, a few reviews of the bike have popped up in my YT feed. I wonder if the missus would agree to me having two bikes....
nice vid, thanks for sharing. that Mitta road is just phenomenal.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment👍. Has to be Vic's #1 road 😁
🏍💭
Greatt ride. Starting to get my riding legs back....
Who's the u turn guru? 🤣🤣😁😁
😏
yeah nah no music mate
Good stuff mate, dying to get down to Tassie on a bike, hopefully next year I'll be down there!
Make it happen mate! We go every 2 years but could easily go once a year.
Good little machine the NoMar
Nice work! Weather looked perfect.
It was!
Awesome 😎
Thanks 🤗

Our 3rd time we have done a lap of that amazing place. Does not dissapoint 👌😁
@@THENKDRCR its good to see bikes riden properly down here the roads flow nicely you guys were having a crack in spots great to watch
Always a great ride. The roads look like they are little better maintained than in aVic 😎
Definitely!
Nice. How'd the new bike go?
Perfect for Tasmanian roads. Never skipped a beat 😁👌
Great vid. I'm guessing that it was Geoffrey performing his water fountain impression!
Classic Geoffrey!😆
Good ride. The pubs must have it good if they can afford to be shut during the holidays.
They deserve a break like everyone else but to close all at the same time would surely have a negative impact on people returning to the area.
Nice one mate, looked like some bloody awesome roads, I'll have to check them out!
Thanks. We're spilt for choice up there, that's for sure.
Slightly wet at times, eh?
Some good planning, we never got rained on, just a couple of wet roads
Cool.
Another epic. Emmy Awards, here we come!
Thanks, I didn't plan on taking this bike, wasn't set up well for the cameras so it didn't leave me with much to work with.
good shit!
Nice video. Thought the Pajero was in a bit of trouble for a sec crossing the river...
Because the recent rain has dirtied up the water, I was too far to the right on the exit and picked up some of the rocks on the man made wall.
You're really getting into this UA-cam thing. Drone footage, ride-by footage, gryo-cams, you've got the lot! Nice job, mate. Well done.
More to come!
